The Bluenose Lodge is a Victorian Inn, circa 1863. Situated at the entrance of "Old Town", Lunenburg. All Lunenburg restaurants, museums etc. are within walking distance to the Lodge. Hospitality of yesteryear abounds throughout this tastefully restored Victorian Historic Inn (circa 1863.) The Inn was originally built in 1863 as a single family dwelling for prominent sea merchant/builders by the name of Morash & Eisnor. In 1946, the home was converted to a Lodge and has been enjoyed by the public ever since. Complimentary snacks and fresh fruit. Fully stocked Coffee/tea station in every room. Fresh fruit available in the foyer. We are a smoke free facility and don't allow any pets on site. The Bluenose Lodge Historic Inn is the perfect choice for small to mid-size banquets, corporate functions and as a wedding venue in Lunenburg.

The lodge is in need of repair and needs a good cleaning. We were met when we first arrived to take our payment and we did not see anyone again accept for cleaners in the morning. No one stayed on the premises only the guests while we were there. The Bluenose ll resides there and we were able to go on a cruise which we loved. We drove to the Oven Caves, Blue Rocks and Hirtle Beach while we visited Lunenburg.

I returned to the Bluenose Lodge after 6 years of being away and had another very pleasurable stay. Traveled with a group of 4 so we had two rooms and all 4 of us were very happy with our stay. It was even better than I remembered as each room of the beautiful old lodge now has air conditioning which is unheard of in most heritage buildings. When we arrived we were greeted by the manager Andrea who took the time to explain the details of the stay, rooms and let us know that if we needed anything at all just to ask. We dropped our bags (turned the air a little lower) and were off. We could easily walk everywhere in Lunenburg from the lodge's location and I must say I loved the fact the Knot Pub was right across the street for a few nightcaps after wonderful days of sightseeing and seafood. We had a rental car so it was very easy to visit Peggy's Cove, Mahone Bay, Riverport and many more towns and villages. It was a great, relaxing vacation and it all started at the Bluenose. Finally the beds were super comfortable and the rooms were easily large enough for the two of us. Jim

Location was great but this truly is just a Lodge, a place to sleep. We booked on AirBnB at a good price and didn't realize it's an inn (lodge) not a B&B, so no breakfast and no opportunity to get that homey experience with the hosts and other guests. Our room was on the top level so beware there can be lots of stairs. Room and especially the baths are small and tight. Our beds were very hard so we all had a pretty restless night.

We thoroughly enjoyed our "antique" room and its trappings. The night was quiet and the bed comfortable. Our hostess prepared delicious crepes for breakfast, and we plan to stay again. We were lucky to get a king bedroom on the ground floor so as not to have to climb stairs.
