We spent a night at the Airport Inn on our way to the Bowron Lakes Chain in early July. We are a family of 5 and often have trouble finding a hotel that allows us to have just one room with all three of our kids with us. Not only did this motel allow 5 of us in a room, the room actually had three beds so everyone had enough space! Yes, the decor is dated but the room was spotless and everything was clean in the bathroom as well. There was a flat-screen tv in the room with plenty of channels to watch and a small kitchenette. The man in the office was friendly and helpful. We would definitely stay again if we were travelling to or through Quesnel.

Staff are very sweet, kind and considerate. That counts for a lot. The motel is very old and wornout, but in the two different rooms we have stayed in, there doesn’t seem to be a lot of improvements made. The worst touch is the carpet, I hope you bring slippers because you don’t want your feet touching that fetid bed of sticky horror. Some cheap laminate flooring would be such an improvement but I guess the owners are saving up for their retirement. Overall it’s fairly clean, the beds are very old but not too bad. The rooms are cheaply priced, in accordance with what you get. For the price it’s very fair. Great wifi, nice flatscreen tv and good continental breakfast.

While we haven't stayed in the motel itself, we can offer a review of the RV Park portion of this business. We have stayed here twice, three years apart, both stays in July. The first stay (July 2015) we were in a full-hookup site (water, power, sewer, cable). The second stay (July 2018) we are in a power-only site (due to poor planning!). We were here for four nights, both stays, during Quesnel's Billy Barker Days celebration. In between those years, when we came for the celebration, we elected to stay at Robert's Roost on Dragon lake--better atmosphere and nicer (newer, or perhaps--better maintenance) facilities. This time we landed here, as I mentioned--due to a late decision to attend the festivities. So - the first stay, back in 2015--with full hookup. Everything was operational--but the noise was rather horrific due to the mill close by and the incessant "hammering" noise as the wood product was created. Think 24-hours a day...or so it seemed. Created a serious sleep deficiency after a night or two. Otherwise, everything was of average quality for our stay. Moving on to this stay (July 2018) - Since I hadn't planned ahead, we had little choice but stay here. So we were grateful for a place to call home. We hoped we'd be able to survive the noise we had experienced before. Surprise....NO hammering noise at all. Instead (again, due to poor planning...) we are back towards the rear of the property in a power-only site--and quite happy. VERY quiet at night- This is an old drive-in theatre site, and so you are on what has become a flat, level (mostly) grassy site--think field. So no dust--and (from where we are at the rear) very little road noise to be concerned with. Now, this place is still a little tired--the washrooms are clean, but dated. there's a wall tile or two that is missing and could be replaced. But they have done what they can to spiffy it up otherwise. Cleanliness is more important and they have that covered. The water pressure (showers and RV fill) is not much to write home about. And the WiFi (while free) is finicky, to say the least. It kicks you off at any given time...but when it's working, it is fairly good--even from our location at the rear of the park. My hunch is there's a bit too much live streaming going on. (I notice there are "full-timers" in one section near the front of the park...not sure if that has anything to do with it. But it is rather annoying when all you want to do is check email and you can't get on.) We also have no TV cable back here, but I understand there is cable for the "full hook-up" folks nearer the front (but nearer the highway--so there's a noise compromise there...). As for what you get via TV cable--can't speak to that. My hunch, not much...probably the basic version. They have laundry facilities located near the showers. [Showers are $4 (buy a token) for the guys and delivers about 4 or 5 minutes for that amount. Ladies showers operate on a $1 coin for about 2 minutes. Separate shower stalls with doors. Chair or bench to sit on--however, in the ladies you have to step up two steps to get into your area. So not sure how much of a problem this may be with regard to folks who don't do stairs.] Manager is very kind and helpful. So -- bottom line: We are liking it here and given we had no other options--a darn good thing! Whether we'll be back--I'd say this a good likelihood, occasionally. Rather depends if one isn't looking for ambiance--rather, just a reasonable place to pull in for a night or two. Keep in mind this is a rather dated facility occupying a large grassy level field with the showers/laundry area in the middle. When we're looking for more than that, we'll likely choose Robert's Roost (nice lake access, park-like, and nice strolling area). Price-wise, there isn't much difference...

Hello, we are on our last night of vacation and decided to stay at this smaller older motel and found it quite nice with a good continental breakfast. Even though the room was somewhat smaller it had comfortable beds and very good wifi/tv. It did not include a coffee maker in the room but saying that there was a Keurig machine in their lobby if you wanted some. I would stay there again and it was only minutes to downtown. Lots of parking and the RV park was quiet! We even got a seniors discount and they allowed our dog. please consider them for your next stay.

We rented a spacious 3 bed kitchenette that was well equipped with cookware and dinnerware. Although we paid for 4 nights in advance, we asked for a refund after 2 nights because of the excessive smoke from the forest fires. The hosts graciously agreed and when we travel to Quesnel again, we will definitely stay at the Airport Motel. Thank you for the great value at a great price!
