Our hostest Kaydence, at the west coast grill made our dinner out very enjoyable with her lovely sense of humour. The food was delicious, and the staff were very welcoming and nice. The views of the sunset on the ocean was gorgeous. We come back again

Another great experience with Jenny as our server at the Westcoast Grill. We go to the Westcoast grill regularly and the service levels are excellent. Jenny was personable and welcoming. The food is amazing and quick, good menu selection and choice of wines, beers and cocktails. We love going there and would recommend!

Hotel is a very nice property, clean rooms and accommodating staff. The floors were a bit cold, so I asked about slippers, which they had! The cafe onsite makes great coffee and accommodating as well. Most the rooms, but definitely not all, have fairly nice views of the bay. We had a larger room an "end unit" which was nice. The room had a connecting door, which the first night a bit of noise from the next-door occupants. It didn't really bother us. I would stay here again and I would recommend it. It is a good place to really get into the more rural areas of lower southwest Vancouver Island and also about 40 minutes to downtown Victoria.

This hotel has hidden charges- $40 extra per room per night for a guest. This is not explained at check in or out. I have never ran into this issue at a hotel prior as you rent a room for 1 or 2 people what does that matter? The property is nice enough, the pool and hot tub were quite low in water and cloudy so I ended up not using them. The room was decent, but for the cost you can get a much nicer room in Victoria with high quality pillows and linen.

small/midsize resort hotel right on the harbor in Sooke. Coffee bar, restaurant, cocktail bar all on site; friendly multi-lingual staff at check in, and large, clean rooms. Walking distance to shopping / restaurants / coffee bars, ATMs, etc. but also quiet and remote. Perfect for a small wedding or corporate retreat.

Loved our two night stay here!!! It was our first time visiting Sooke and we had just taken the passenger ferry from Seattle to Victoria. Rented a car and drove the short 30-40 minutes to Sooke. We had, at first, booked at one of the SookePoint Ocean Cottages (stunningly beautiful!), but ended up canceling and rebooking at the Prestige Oceanfront Resort. And we are so glad we did! Perhaps, if it were a romantic getaway with just my husband and some packed groceries (since SookePoint are actual cottages with kitchens and, really, imo, no dining nearby... except for a food truck on select days/times), SookePoint would have been just as do-able. But, since we had three kids with us and my senior parents, the Prestige made much more sense. Its location made sightseeing much easier (super close to Whiffin Spit for a stroll with the kids), near to restaurants/markets, and close drive to the Potholes). The restaurant was great (btw, the kids meals are big... just fyi...;)... unfortunately though, this is where I learned that you can't legally order a mimosa before 9 am. But, not their fault... Sea lions and hermit crabs hang around the resort (i mean, in the water) too, which is fun for kids to see. The partial view from our room's balcony was amazing and parking is easy. The pool is indoors and small, but that's just fine! Things i learned for my next stay: Make sure you take the correct elevator to your room, or it's kind of a maze of hallways to find your room... Also, there are some photos online of rooms that look more updated, brighter, and fresh. These match the lobby more. I found out these rooms are on the first floor of rooms (which are pet-friendly) and the fourth floor (I think... or whatever floor is the top, but I believe without balconies). We were on the 3rd floor and so had the rooms that look a little darker and dated (in my opinion). My seniors parents complained that the hallways on this floor were very dark as well as their room (of course, their vision is already dimming to begin with, but compared to the lobby and the other rooms, they did seem dark). The good news is, there is so much beauty to see outside, we weren't in our rooms that often! My biggest complaint was the ottoman in our room. It needs to be retired. I couldn't stand to look at it for some reason. So, I put it in our closet during our stay. Still, the view from our room and the rest of the hotel made up for it. Overall, I would stay again!

The hotel's asset is the view which is breathtaking especially from room with balcony. But room is average and service is inconsistent. During our stay they had power outages which closed the restaurant the night of our reservations (no phone call to tell us until we showed up and no apology). We also had a fire alarm at 11 pm another night and staff was not around to direct guests. But housekeeping staff was friendy and helpful. Disappointing stay.

On July 29 my husband and I celebrated our 30 year friendship with another couple, and had the pleasure of staying in a King Oceanfront and a Queen Oceanview room. There was a wedding being held that Saturday night, but we didn't have our sleep disturbed on our centrally located 4th floor room (#420). We enjoyed being the only people using the hot tub, which had a sliding door open to the ocean breezes, and afterward we were the only people in the indoor pool. I loved wearing my robe down to the pool area and taking photos with my friend in our luxe robes! The hotel is located right on the ocean, so close that I had a view of an otter swimming at the docks from my room. We walked the grounds and also enjoyed the gazebo and outdoor seating with fire pits. In the early morning the next day, my friend had a close encounter with a black bear, but thankfully not too close! We were within 1.2 km of a selection of restaurants in downtown Sooke. While the walk beside the busy Sooke Road was not pleasant, if you brought a car or bicycle it would just a brief trip. We were cycle touring on the Galloping Goose and appreciated the proxitimity of the hotel to the trail. We were able to visit the spectacular Sooke Potholes the next morning before returning to the ferry. Our room was really spacious, with high ceilings and a large shower with separate conventional shower head and a second rainshower head spaced quite wide apart so that two people could easily shower with plenty of elbow room. The bath products were delightful, and I appreciated the lighted makeup mirror and double sink. We also enjoyed the Keurig coffee maker with the Salt Spring medium roast coffee pods. It was a modern suite with substantial furniture, and two televisions, having one in the bathroom. I enjoyed the soothing natural colour scheme right out of a designer magazine, with the blue of the ocean as a backdrop. Special thanks to Fernando at the front desk for his efficient and polite service, and to General Manager Jacob Cramp for his professional manner. We had a wonderful stay and we will be back!

This was a nice place with an amazing view. So clean, calm and friendly. We enjoyed the peaceful environment and ocean view. The staff were nice and friendly. The room was spacious and the grounds around the hotel were a perfect place to sit back and enjoy the quiet around you.
