My husband and I stayed 2 nights over the Easter long weekend 2013. Lovely hotel and off the beaten track of busier Qualicum Beach. We stayed in the kitchenette suite closest to the ocean I think number 4. The BBQ on the deck is excellent and we used it twice to delicious results. We especially enjoyed watching the spring migration... More

Thank you for the favourable review. We very much appreciate your business and look forward to having you return to the Lighthouse Motel. We have a very good manager on site and she goes out of her way to provide our guests with clean rooms and attention to detail. I am sorry that you experienced some obnoxious neighbors. I will... Although it has a terrific location, right on the water just a few miles north of Qualicum Beach on Vancouver Island, the room I had, allegedly an "upgrade" was tiny and reeked of disinfectant. REEKED! The room was just large enough for a double bed, a small fridge in the corner on which perched the TV and an old kitchen... More

Thank you for taking the time to review our motel. We are sorry to hear of your experience however I want to ensure you actually stayed in this unit. You indicated you stayed in unit 3B; all of our units have very high quality pillow top queen beds including 3B, EXCEPT for the Garden Suite, unit 7. You state that... More

I thought it was a dive from the road , but wow was I wrong. This is a great little motel feels like you are at home. Extremely private , the rooms are super cute and clean. The beds were so comfortable. I feels like the whole place is yours. The view is amazing. I would recommend this place to... More

Three years later. We need a place to stay near Qualicum Bay. Where? No question about it. The only thing that's changed about this place is the dog - gone. Clean rooms, good service, and the room adjacent to Highway #19 is quiet after dusk. Single night double is a bit dear, but you can negotiate better prices for multiple... More

We were attending a wedding in Qualicum Beach, but booked late and could only find vacancy at the Lighthouse Motel in Bowser. Frankly, we lucked out. The owner/operator (we presumed) was very nice and the rooms clean and ready ahead of schedule. There are some great adirondack chairs overlooking the beachside patio, plus bocci ball and croquet equipment. Bowser is... More

Thank you for taking the time to review the Lighthouse Motel. While all of our motel rooms provide wonderful waterfront views, many guests try to book Unit 4 and Unit 3B as they are closest to the seawall and the oceanfront. We hope to have you as our guest again in the future and we very much appreciate your business.... More

Our room was tidy and in good condition and the property and garden are beautifully maintained. There are stunning views from the back of the motel over the beach and out towards the sea. We stayed in Garden room 7 which is small for a double but we had been told of this when booking and it's great value.

Thank you for taking time to write a review about the Lighthouse Motel. We appreciate that. The Garden Suite is a bit on the small side and we make sure guests know this when they book, however it is a very good value and it has a wonderful ocean view and semi private deck area. We hope you have a... More

This small bayside motel has a cottage feel and our room included a kitchenette. Sea birds and marine life are close by. Qualicum Bay is a quiet location about 15 km from popular Qualicum Beach. The spring special of 3 nights for the price of two was a good deal but without the special price there are better places to... More

This is a small motel with the owners taking great pride in what they have. As we were touring around and wanted to take a day trip to the Tofino they were happy to assist with some useful advice. Small room, but comfortable and very clean. Library of DVDs to borrow. Friendly and laid-back hosts. Beautiful ocean view and nice grounds. Across the street from several restaurants/pubs. Qualicum Bay itself is a bit isolated; don't be confused with Qualicum Beach, this is actually quite far away. The only significant negative was quite a bit of noise from trucks passing... More

After spending 2wk in the Pacific Northwest, my only regret is not staying here longer!! After a 4d kayaking trip, the Lighthouse Motel was an perfect place to refresh and unwind. Thank you for taking the time to review our motel and post it on Trip Advisor. We appreciate the feedback. Our motel is quite small and it does give us time to provide guests with personal attention.
