Our feelings over this place are so mixed. On the plus side, it is right by the water which is awesome, especially to be able to hear the waves gently lapping the shore. The caretaker and his family were so nice, such great people and so friendly and warm. On the flip side, the room and inn itself are very...

Positives: waterfront, good room size, friendly front counter staff, easy vehicle access, many room features like stove and fridge, good wifi. Negatives: horrible bed(sagging, hard as a rock - fine for the 1960's), right beside the highway so road noise, older building - thin walls. Change the mattress and I would rate this higher. Beds come first.

Impossible to get any closer to the water - at high tide the sea laps right up to the wall you have your feet up on. Each room has chairs on deck or patio, and a common grassy area with more chairs on the water's edge is a great place to chat with fellow travelers. Friendly and helpful owners. Furniture...

We stayed here for. 2 nights. The views are wonderful but the accommodation is very tired and dated. We had rooms with kitchenettes but there was a lack of crockery, utensils,, glasses and cups. Luckily between us we had 2 rooms so we're able to combine with each other to get a full set. The lady On reception was very...

My boyfriend and I went for 1 night in August 2016, for a quick get away. I had never stayed there before, and was so excited when I arrived. A small, quaint little place, right on the beach. Upon arriving, we were greeted by a lovely woman, she and her husband manage it. We were a little early. Asked if...

We only stayed one night on our way up to Courtenay for a family barbeque and I wanted something on the ocean so my daughter and I could walk the beach. Well, the ocean was right below our balcony! I thought it was kind of cute but my husband didn't like the fact that there was no air conditioning. It...

New owners have plans for redevelopment and extension. Present buildings do need some work: especially paving; lighting and wiring. The 'shabby chic' appearance is part of this hotel's charm. The incredible water's edge setting means that inevitable winter storms take their toll. The inner grass courtyard is a fabulous asset. But the greatest asset is the exceptional helpfulness of the...

My daughter and husband with their three children booked accommodations at this location for July 23,24, and 25th. They were travelling from Kelowna for my fathers celebration of life. This was the same day as the Nanaimo bathtub race and the ferries were running late and over crowded. They were able to get across just in time to attend the...

Great Hotel, super friendly hosts. Rooms are quite large and really nice, albeit not ultra fancy like at a luxury hotel. However the location is amazing. Beach is a stone's throw away, large balconies on the second floor. Given the reasonable rates, I'd say this hotel has incredible value. We will be back again for sure.

I stayed here for just one night, it was a stop along the way to our main destination. The room finishings and decor were very retro and outdated but the rooms were clean which was important. The views of the ocean were great and the sunset was beautiful!
