with excellent service. Rooms are quite large and comfortable. Property is a motel, but with hotel features - dining, spa, terrasses, etc. If you are in a Pavillion not connected to main entrance reception, you are subject to rain and wind. The breakfast had a wide variety of delicious items. Nice walking trails nearby.
We stopped here overnight on their last opening day of the season in mid-October, on the way to Nova Scotia. The room was upgraded for us with a river view, and was very clean. The vista with all the fall colours was beautiful, and we really enjoyed our dinner on the Mirador terrace (but a few more vegetarian options would be appreciated). Good continental/buffet-style breakfast. Friendly staff, we wouldn’t hesitate to return.…
Wonderful hotel that is really like a resort. The view of the St. Lawrence from our hotel room was magnificent, particularly at sunset. The food, as well, was excellent and the serving staff extremely helpful, efficient and friendly. Highly recommended
We have stayed at this establishment several times on our way to, or returning from destinations in the Atlantic Provinces. On this occasion, we stayed in a room in the Des Ile’s Pavilion and had a magnificent view of the St. Lawrence river at sunset from our private patio. Fantastic! The room and bedding was very clean and we slept well in utmost quiet. I was impressed with the water pressure and temperature in the shower. Our disappointment was in the fact that there was no TV guide or channel listing in the room or on the TV. Hotel staff explained that COVID had prompted them to remove the laminated listings from the rooms. Fair enough, and they are working on a solution.
Very comfortable room. Arrived too late to eat there but got 2 orders of toast to go on departure - $7.50 and a little burnt! Wouldn't recommend for just traveling through because there's no time to take advantage of their facilities plus it's too far from highway if you're in a hurry to reach your end destination.
Far above and beyond what I expected. The view and the atmosphere were stunning. If I ever pass this way again, this is definitely where I will be staying. Cheaper than a typical hotel room in most places, but you get so much more!
Everything was perfect. Clean, comfortable room with great amenities. The view from the balcony was the best ... truly amazing! Within walking distance of a lovely park. Would love to return to this hotel!
Our stay here was a great exerience. The setting was fantastic and the sunset over the river view balcony was unique. The staff were very good, friendly and bilingual. Everything, from the exterior, the grounds and the room.were neat and clean. My grandsons enjoyed the pool which was generous, well laid out as well as supervised. The outstanding feature aside from the setting was the restaurant. We had looked forward to a unique dinner to finish up our holiday. We got it here! The dishes were great in taste and presentation. I am not a great traveller but I appreciate good fare which is what was presented. The pricing was perhaps a bit high but well worth it. We were very impressed with the children's menu in both choices and pricing. No chicken fingers, fries or burgers here! Under 12 years, filet mignon and other quality choices with vegetables for $15....my grandsons are special and indeed they felt special with such a non "fast foot road meal." The maitre'd and staff, and as mentioned, all the hotel staff were friendly, engaging and efficient. After expressing all these positive points I feel poorly offering any criticism. However, the washroom is a bit too small. That said, a small compromise for a fantastic property.…
We've stayed here at least 6 times, mostly in the Pavilion du Cap, but sometimes in the Pavilion de la Mer. The view is spectacular, the amenities are pretty good too (fancy bar, pool ok too, though the gym sucks), and those rooms are very nice. However, this last time at the Pavilion du Cap, as 11pm hit, our neighbour started snoring and it was LOUD. So loud that we called the front desk for a room change. They told us they were completely booked and they didn't have earplugs. I called back to tell them that 1) I could see 3 available rooms online, and 2) if we left for another hotel, could they wave the charge. They put me on hold and eventually found a room at Pavillon de Gaspé. We moved rooms at midnight, and settled in. Why anyone would pay 175 for a room at Gaspé, I'm not sure. Maybe that's just a general hotel rate now, but those rooms are dated, and they only have a small window on the forest through the bathroom, along with the windows on the parking. We slept well but were awoken by the new neighbour's kids running around non stop from 6 am until we got up at 7:30. We had planned on relaxing before driving back to Ottawa but it wasn't in the cards. I appreciate that the Auberge could relocate us, but it seems they skimped on soundproofing when renovating anything. PS: Pavillon du Cap has no AC, so best open your patio doors and hope no motorcycles on the route next to the beach wake you. Surprisingly, Pavillon de Gaspé did have AC! I want to say that Pavillon du Cap and de la Mer are very nice, and except for this noise situation this last time, are quiet and luxurious motel rooms (with no AC in du Cap..). I don't think I'd recommend Pavillon de Gaspé unless you have an accomodation need, or want to take advantage of the amenities...it's basically more expensive there vs. other motels down the street. And please, parents, don't let your kids run around in hotels at 6 am, when there are wide open lawns, beaches, pools, and courtyards to do so on the grounds of the motel at your disposal! Sincerely, disgruntled couple looking for a quiet and romantic retreat.…
I stayed for 2 nights at this hotel recently. There are many pros and cons about this stay. PROS: *The staff....everyone is very welcoming and efficient. I had a problem when checking in and Audrée at the front desk came out to help me with it in my car. She helped me resolve the problem I had. She is a gem! *The view...what more can you say about watching the sunset over the St Lawrence river that hasn't been said before! *The room...it is comfortable and a very large space. I was in the Pavillon de la mer. The mattress was incredible. CONS: *Location...some people may not like the fact that there is not much you can do on foot around the hotel, except the beach where you can walk and swim if you're courageous about the cold water! The fact that none of their restaurants serve lunch is also troublesome if you don't want to take your car. *Some wear and tear in the rooms....they should follow the trend and take out the carpet gradually in the rooms. It is outdated and past its due date. I would recommend it highly, even with the small cons, because it is a really nice place with unbeatable views!…
