I recently was there for a company Christmas party event. I had reserved a room with rustic fire place with king size bed. When I got there they gave me my room. When I got to my room noticed there was no fire place and it had 2 double beds. Called front desk and the excuse given was that my room would have been by a noisy area. What BS. Our company had reserved multiple rooms and many that arrived after me got the room with the fire place and I was there before them. I told them I was cancelling my stay and they said I would have cancellation fees. Wow. They finally gave me a room with a king size bed, no fireplace. They didn’t even offer me something to make up for it. We also had supper there and it was average. Disappointed and will never go back.

The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because the connecting doors between our room and the room immediately beside us could not be properly closed and our neighbors could hear our music. Other than that, very nice room with a great view of the ski mountain and a very big balcony which we'll return to enjoy in the summer. The bistro food was outstanding. Apparently a new cook was recently hired and she really knows what she's doing. We couldn't stop ordering more food. We had the whole place to ourselves (it was a Monday night) and watched football while we ate and drank good craft beers. Our bartender/waitress Jenna was excellent.

We were in Morin Heights for a meeting at 10:00....I was looking for a Brunch Buffet.. I remembered staying at the Auberge Mont Gabriel in the past...so we went for Brunch...It was delicious! From the wonderful coffee...to the fresh baked butter croissants...Eggs Benedict..Prime Rib...to the cheese table and awesome deserts...including creme brûlée...was worth every penny....Afterwards we sat in front of the huge fireplace...was absolutely a wonderful experience!!!!! 😍

Booked 6 months in advance a room for a wedding reception we were attending Thnaksgiving weekend. Weddding was at 3pm and checkin not before 4pm. Called the hotel day before the date to know if bags could be left and possibly use a room to change..answer was 'NO' Found out from others at the wedding that they showed up at the hotel at 12pm and were assigned rooms right away, why was I told 'no' when 4 other couples had their rooms assigned at 12pm? When we got to the hotel, I expressed my discontent with the girl at the desk, who could hardly communicate in English...really...trying to attrack American tourists with a unilingual reception...really? My heated discussion continued with a Person who prefessed to be the manager who summarily dismissed me and walked away...oustanding manner to try to placate a paying customer! Got our keys and told to go through the bar...in reality, go through the bar, up the stairs, down the hallway, (stinking of pot) down some stairs, down the hallway, round a corner with more stairs, through a common space, down another hall way finally to our room. Directions could have been more descriptive, but I guess it was apathy or just a language issue!? Room was small, and very warm; 80 degrees. So small that between the bed and the desk two people cannot pass. The chairs in the room were cheap steel frame chairs with pleather, maybe passable for a student bedroom but not adequate for a 4 star hotel.Nothing confortable to sit on. No outlets to charge anything...there was a power strip stuck to one of the night stands but I couldn't make it work, neither did the lamp on the same light stand. Television was nice but only basic channels. Bed was hard. There were enough pillows and they were nice Closet was small. I hung up my suit and it took half the closet. No idea waht you would do with winter coats and skis in the winter. The bathroom, small, small, smaller. Walk in shower with mold, and tooth paste on the wall, 10 x 10 inch porcelain sink with no ledge..looks sort of like a sink from a laundry room for soaking clothes. No place to put soap, toothpaste, anything. Toilet paper was under the towel rack, so if the towel got wet, because you dropped it in the shower after showering, it would drip on the toilet paper making it into a useless mush..oh, and by the bye, roll of toilet paper at less than half...wow! Shower head was partially blocked with calcium. Door to the bathroom was a French door...nice to look at but useless. If you get up in the middle of the night to go, and put the light on, it lights up the room and wakes your travelling companion! We were a long way form the reception rooms, but we could still hear the music, clearly till early in the morning. I spoke with others in our wedding party who were in other locations in the hotel and all said the same thing..noise from music was everywhere. Check out is at 12pm. At 9:15 am, knock at the door, 3 seconds later the chambermaid comes into the room,,'sorry I was told you had left....' Who told her? Retribution from the management for the the tongue lashing the day before? All this for $180 +, with tax Air BnB would have been a better choice Our reception party had decided to meet for Breakfast the next day at the Hotel Restaurant. Breakfast was a bad joke! $22 per person + tax ($60 with tip) for cold eggs, cold, watery coffee, undercooked sausage in a buffet setting. Personally, I will never go back to this Hotel, and will try to discourage anyone from booking ANYTHING at this place. Management overbooked the hotel and as a result, the service was bad. Figure, there were at least 4 receptions at this hotel when we were there. 4 receptions x 100 people for a Hotel that has 135 guest rooms. I think the staff was overwhelmed and the management could care less.

Bonjour 19nosliw62, Thank you very much for taking the time to share your experience. Customer satisfaction is our priority and can only be achieved by collecting comments like yours. Most customers who wish to have access to their rooms before check in time book it for the night prior to their event. This ensures that they have access to a room where they may change and get ready for their event. Aside from that, rooms are assigned in a first come, first serve basis. I also would like to ensure you that there is no desire to ‘’attack American tourists with a unilingual reception’’. Most American tourists enjoy the charms of the Laurentian region which comes with limited English speaking staff. They also usually appreciate the fact that the staff is making a genuine effort to address the customer in their preferred language. As for the size of the room, we do indeed have larger rooms, which come with steeper prices. May I suggest that for a future stay you book a room in our superior section? We hope to have the pleasure of having you visit again soon,

My partner and I decided to stay at Mont Gabriel as we were thinking about having our wedding there. At first look it looks amazing. However on a saturday they will host up to 4 weddings. I will not get into the drama I watched unfold. But I do feel really bad for one bride. As a guest not attending any of them I can tell you it made for a terrible nights sleep. When we came in from dinner we could hear battling music in the bar area. As we approached our room the music continued as there was 4 different receptions going on. As there is no sound curfew I had the honour of listening to one weddings music until after 3:30 am. At 3:30 I was woken to someone on a microphone. If they are going to have receptions going on so close to the guest rooms they need to work on sound proofing the walls. And those beds are hard as a rock. We stayed at a bunch of different hotels that week trying to find a venue and I will say the best beds were in the Howard Johnson. that we stayed at to break up the drive home. lol for the positives though, the staff is amazing that is the whole reason they are getting a three. If the customer service wasn't as outstanding as it is they would be getting a 2.

Bonjour TabithaRoberts82, Thank you for sharing your experience. Indeed, we do host many weddings every year, mostly during the summer and fall, which can make it quite noisy, I will share your comments with our team so we can evaluate how we can modify our operations in order to be more mindful to our other guests. Thank you,
