I stayed at the Cocopele Inn for 3 nights and Lucy couldn't have done more to make me feel at home. Simple but wholly comfortable, with great wifi, warm water and a secure feel, the Inn is a wonderful place to be based in a lovely and welcoming little town

This place is technically in Santa Elena but it is 5 minutes walk across the bridge from central San Ignacio. We came here for our last night in SI. We had been staying at Cahal Pech but were leaving super early for Tikal and wanted to stay somewhere more central and cheaper. Even though Cahal Pech is technically in SI, it is a 20 minute walk up or down a steep hill whereas this place is a leisurely walk across a bridge with a pedestrian path. The rooms are basic but comfortable and cozy. The host is very kind and helpful and showed me how to use Belizean washing machines, lol.

We had a great time at Cocopele Inn. The 2 bedroom space was clean and spacious, easily accomadating our 4 person group. The A/c was a nice break from the heat. The kitchen facilities and drinking water were a definate plus and the place felt safe and secure. The area is quiet, yet within walking distance of many shops, tour companies and restaurants. What really made this place stand out to me was Lucy, the hostess. She was knowledgeable and helped us find the tour companies and shuttle services we needed. We were very happy with her recomendations. She also offers laundry services for a reasonable price, which was great. Left the dirty basket out before heading out touring and they were clean and folded when we returned. Will be returning here for sure!

Veryyyy cozy and clean inn! Felt so at home! Great location—only minutes walk from food and shops. Restaurant onsite that serves delicious breakfast lunch and dinner. Felt very safe and comfortable with a/c. Very spacious. Manager Lucy is very nice professional and accommodating. Will absolutely book here again when I return to Belize. Thank you.

Lucy, the hotel manager, is the sweetest person you'll meet. So welcoming, inviting, and informational, she's makes you feel right at home the second you check in. She offers laundry services or you are welcome to do your own laundry during your stay, which was a nice option to have. Right next to the hotel, my boyfriend and I would enjoy delicious, local breakfast at Cocopele Inn's little Cafe where Lucy's mother, Yolanda, would cook amazing burritos, a Bazelian breakfast, or pancakes. Cocopele Inn was a beautiful hotel to stay for our San Ignacio portion of our trip. Just over the bridge from San Ignacio, Cocopele Inn was located in Santa Elena, just a short 7 minute walk from the San Ignacio city center, Burns Street. Our room was super nice, superb air conditioning, spacious, with a comfortable bed and pillows. The twin size bed could fold down as a table to store our luggage one which was an excellent use of space! We even had a little living room and couch to relax on right in front of the AC during the dreadfully hot afternoons. We can't say enough about how enjoyable our stay was at Cocopele Inn. We would highly recommend staying here, do try their cafe! Thank you so much, Lucy and Yolanda, for your genuine kindness and hospitality! <3

this hotel was so wonderful! Lucy who runs it is amazingly kind and helpful. The rooms are HUGE with cold AC. Its in a quiet area, yet super close walk to everything. It is clean and for a small fee they will do your laundry which was so helpful. You have use of a kitchen area if you want to cook! We will definitely stay here if we are back in this area!

Our family stayed here for 5 nights at different times during our trip. Lucy is wonderful. The space had 2 bedrooms and a living room. The kids had twin beds. Everyone slept well. The location is walking distance to bbq places, the market and downtown so you have many tasty and affordable options for meals. (No one got sick, even eating the street food and drinking fruit juices.) Williams shuttle has an office here so it is easy to coordinate transportation. Lucy uses some of her profits to fund her breakfast program. She also distributes school supplies that travelers donate. Stay here if you want to explore the town and support a great local business.

The hotel is in Santa Elana but a short walk across the river is the San Ignacio market. Santa Elana is a quiet village but there is some street noise at times in the hotel. There is a well supplied kitchenette. I was disappointed there was not hot water but truthfully we didn’t miss it with the hot temperatures. The air conditioning worked great. One of the best assets of the hotel is the owner Lucy. She is a great resource for the area and has great tips about the sites around the area

The Cocopele Inn is not a luxury hotel, but represents brilliant value for money. The room I stayed in was large, clean and beautifully decorated, and had excellent air conditioning which I find vital in a tropical climate. The hotel is only 10 minutes walk from the centre of San Ignacio, and 3 minutes from a couple of supermarkets. What makes it really special is the service provided by Lucia, the manager; super friendly, well informed, and well plugged into the tourist service. She arranged laundry, private taxi tours, and even a lift to the airport when my pre-booked shuttle ailed to arrive. FREE!! As a single traveller it was wonderful to know I had so much help and advice constantly available. The only real downside was a lack of hot water, and this is the only reason I don't give the hotel 5 stars. I had a wonderful stay here, and consider it an excellent mid-range hotel.
