This place was fantastic. Three meals included in the price and the food is delicious. The rooms were clean. The bathrooms are communal and could use some help. I tend to be a bit OCD and could look past the bathrooms because the place itself and the owners are so sweet. I still give this place five stars and would happily come back and stay again. If you're visiting moyo island, this is basically the best and only place to stay. Do it.
Why ? Because it really is the best option on the whole island....theres nothing else on Moyo that beats 200.000 rp a night including 3 meals..... Take a public boat to Labuhan Aji village from Sumbawa besar Goa harbour, usually leaves around 12-13 o clock, everyday...if you miss the boat its almost better to stay 1 night in town than to start haggle and negotiate for a overpriced private boat. Moyo is a really nice island where tourism just arrived 2 years ago (except Amanwana of course) so its still unspoilt. The Mata Jitu waterfall its the best ive seen in all Indonesia and is well worth a few trips, very pitoresque and superclean water, no rubbish anywhere and can be walked to (6-7 km). No warungs or people here. Good snorkelling on the "atoll" a short boatride from the village and from a few other spots as well within walking or bicycle distance. My favorite spot was Pantai Parwisata-Crocodile head just before Amanwana, always had the spots for myself, not a sole anywhere....usually spent the whole day there. Bapa has mountain bikes so make sure you rent one, then you free to go anywhere easily. The food is as delicious as local food gets, you wont find better food here. Higly recommended stopover for anybody in Sumbawa area, if even just for a few days.…
My stay at Davi Homestay on Pulau Moyo is the highlight of my trip around Sumbawa. Lovely wooden house with view on the beach. The rooms are comfortable, clean and well equipped with mosquito nets. However it is the owner's family that makes this homestay a must on Pulau Moyo. Indeed, Ibu and Bapak are really nice and helpful. Come there on an empty stomach as you will be pleased with fresh vegetables and fresh fish everyday.
Rooms with beach view, super comfy beds with mosquito nets, clean modern toilets, access to beach and snorkelling equipment. Definitely recommend to go for food-included option with the accommodation, local organic and delicious!
We have been wanting to go to Moyo Island for years, after hearing about it from a friend who used to work for Amanwana when it first opened. Finally, just weeks ago, we managed to find time to get there, thanks to a website on Homestay Davi. Why? Errr because we definitely couldn't have paid the USD850++ per night at Amanwana... It's basic, with bathroom (no hot water but hey, you won't need that here) and 5 rooms in a seafront bungalow just steps away from the Labuan Aji jetty. For IDR 200,000 (USD20) per pax per day including 3 meal a day, it's a bargain! The owner however is going to add two more Semi-D units soon for more private experience, as it could be a bit awkward to share the same house with a bunch of people you don't know sometimes. Food is wonderful- delicious, local and fresh, and is served in the garden or on the seafront balcony. It may not be Amanwana but it does have the elegance of a boutique hotel, especially at night when the whole place gets lit up with candles for the dinner. Absolutely the best homestay experience ever! Other optional, i.e payable services are snorkelling with or equipment at the reef island or Marine Park (must do if you're a diver although more expensive than the close-by reef island as you need to pay the entry fees and is located further), or swim at the waterfalls (MUST DO!), all with a local guide (ask for Heri if he's free). Just talk to Pak Mahe the owner if you have other specific request and the lovely man will surely try to help you to at least find out more about it. So my advice: if you want real local experience in this paradise island, stay here!…
Anything was great no complaint at all.Owner so great they help you anything what you want. For Rp.300K per person/night you geat 3 meals a day it's awsome.Lisa a son of the owner they help you from sumbawa besar and arrange public boat for you. Send me message if you ask about lisa
I have seen him building it and now is extending with two privet bungalows, this is likely the first Man with a vision who understand about hospitality for travelers and make then feel welcome without pressure. I would recommend it as a low budget place to stay and strait in front of the beach
The place is perfect to stay in Pulau Moyo without splurging on the ultra-pricey Amanwana resort. It's located on the other side of the island, but Pak Mahinra can help you arrange for a boat charter to go around the island. You can enjoy buffet lunch/dinner at Amanwana for a price and snorkel at their jetty/beach too The rooms are simple, but clean and cozy. they provide electrical outlets and a fan in each room very much appreciated! We book the room through AIRBNB (https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/3858037) The price includes 3 meals per day so it's definitely a bargain! Pak Mahinra can also help you arrange a trip to the Matajitu Waterfall using motorbike taxi (ojek) Definitely the highlight of the trip!
Yes I can told you, this place is excellent...! The owner, Mr.Mahendra and his wife will not give different price between local and foreigner. And the price is include 3 times meals. When I came here, there are only 3 homestay in Moyo Island (exclude Amanwana hotel). But Davi homestay is the best with cheap price, and they served a very delicious food... Mr.Mahendra can speak a little bit English, but his wife can not. But they really nice, i felt like home when i stay in there. This homestay build like a tradistional house in Sumbawa Island. They have 5 room. But only 2 room have a terrace. I suggest you to take the right room, which have a best view to the ocean. There are no aircon. But don't worry, every room have mosquito net. The quality of bed and pillow are very good, i can sleep very well every night.…
