I had read a few negative reviews of Thornham Hall, but I think these must have been written by people who simply do not 'get it'. This place is most definitely NOT a Premier Inn! It is totally unique, quirky, and fabulous. The same description could be applied to Lady Lesley Henniker-Major, who runs the house. She doesn't take any...

My daughter and I stayed at this wonderful place along with my niece and sister in law the night before my daughters wedding on 11 June 16 at Thornham Coach House. The rooms are wonderful and quirky, my niece loved her toilet and sink in the cupboards in her bathroom, the bathrooms are as spacious as the bedrooms. The beds...

Three elegant en-suite bedrooms, all with lovely views of the garden and estate. Breakfast was delicious and the parkland is a delight to explore with well laid out paths. It makes for a very relaxed stay.

We held our wedding at Thornham Coach House but contacted the owner of Thornham Hall to hire her gardens. We were able to do this and so booked the three rooms at the hall for us and our guests. The gardens are stunning! We had the perfect picnic wedding reception in the sun. We were able to check in and...

From the moment we arrived we were greeted by our hostess, Lady Henniker-Major, who immediately made us feel welcome in her home with some excellent tea and homemade cake. The view from our room over parkland stretched as far as you can see. As mentioned by other guests the horses and other wildlife create the perfect setting to indulge oneself...

A gracious setting among mature parkland trees where thoroughbred horses swish their long tails; peacocks stalking the lawns; family portraits, a wealth of books and antique furniture and a slap-up breakfast in the formal dining room: if you want to find out what it's like to wake up in a grand English country house, then Thornham Hall is the place...

We didn't arrive till very late but we were sat in front of a newly lit fire with a glass of port within 5 minutes of arriving. Breakfast was delicious - it was just a shame we were there for such a short time!

This is the second time I have stayed here. It is such a wonderful experience. The location, the rooms, the welcome and the food add up to make this a very special stay, I recommend it unreservedly. Lesley and her daughter are just the most fantastic hosts and nothing is too much trouble
