Stayed on tmb. Unlike others we found the food excellent and the breakfast spread much better than anywhere else... meats, cheeses, yogurt, cereal, and good coffee. Dormitories were same as most places and showers were hot and didn’t require a token like many refuges. Even soap in the bathrooms
As part of our TMB tour, our travel company (MAC Adventures) reserved a private room with bath and balcony here. The room was nice, clean and cheerful bedding. We really enjoyed the view and sitting on the balcony after a long day of hiking. Had good night’s sleep here. Our stay included dinner and breakfast. The dinner was good: nice salad, rice with teriyaki chicken and dessert. Breakfast was continental spread of cereal, breads, etc. The hotel processes things like a refuge- boots left in a room and get your luggage on the side of the hotel.
Plus points: hotel was clean, room satisfactory. Negative points: Surly service, adequate food (we couldn't identify our meat at dinner for several minutes), tables jammed closely together, perfunctory breakfast, sockets not European. We won't return.
We did the TMB and we got an amazing room (#26) with private shower/washroom. The view from the balcony was spectacular. The room itself was clean, the beds are great. However, the food in the hotel was lousy except the fresh bread in the morning.
Excellent location for travelers on the Tour du Mont Blanc (TMB). Room, service and food were very average. Hosts seemed to struggle to keep up. Cleanliness needed some work. And tall people beware - many doorway are super low..
