Our recent visit to Brown’s Bay Resort located in Campbell River left us saddened knowing that we had to leave the serenity of staying in the Bear Cabin. This cabin is truly luxurious, and the owners, Brent and Esther ensured that this was truly your home away from home. The cabin had everything you could possibly require including a dishwasher, washer, dryer, vacuum cleaner, coffee, creamers, sugar, some bottled water and yes, even hand sanitizer. The cabin is oceanfront and while sitting on the deck, you have a front row seat of the amazing scenery, listening to the sound of the waves, watching the sea lions play, seeing the sunrise, and the evening moonlight reflecting on the water, as well as gazing at the stars.
For our anniversary, we dined at The Narrows Floating Restaurant where the experience did not disappoint. The staff members were very friendly and made you feel as if you were the most important customer. My husband had their clam chowder, and he raved on how it was the best he has ever tasted
The resort also collaborates with the local adventure partners including, scenic flight helicopters, whale and bear watching adventure tours, fishing guides, and much more.
Brent and Esther are ambassadors in their local community, as they believe in giving back to their community and Campbell River is lucky to have them.
My husband and I are looking forward to returning next year.
Thank you for this wonderful magical adventure.

We just stayed in the RV park for a week. Sadly, we were smoked in but that did not deter us from enjoying the amenities and serenity of the park. The restaurant food and service was amazing. They are operating on minimal staff and run off their feet putting in 12-14 hour days. Kyle, Todd, and Devon do an amazing job and top notch COVID protocol. The resort washrooms are cleaned often throughout the day and are way above what you would expect to find. They offer extra amenities to make your visit as enjoyable as possible. We really appreciated the loan of a propane firepit. Totally enjoyed the little people Around the park whose parents operate the park year round. They have luxury cabins, yurts, tenting spots, rv spots. Something for everyone. All I saw was hardworking smiling polite staff. Absolutely loved our stay and will return. The drive in was a piece of cake...no issues and I just have a car.

From the start to the end of our 2 night stay was amazing. We booked last minute and were so fortunate to find they had a Glamping cliffside tent available mid week. The tent was exceptionally clean with two queen beds, small kitchen, bbq, warm bedding, heater that we only turned on once and the deck had a view that was priceless. The lady in the office was extremely helpful and accommodating, the man working was fun to speak with about fishing and boating, all staff were great and well organized. The marina that is separated but still walking distance was gorgeous, clean, safe and accommodating with the small boat we brought. We fished for 2 days and explored and were lucky that it was calm and sunny. 2 orcas swam under our boat only 5 min from the marina. The bathrooms are clean and have great pressure for showers. I wouldn’t hesitate to go back. We already are wanting to book next year.

Last minute reservation with a travel van. The road in is long 5 km of teeth-rattling gravel) and dark (logging road) so if coming after dark, watch for signss that say how one to go. Nobody at office after arrival so attempted (several times) to figure my way around the the. ‘Fishing pier’ site. It was a little dicey to get into with a large van, UTC modern, clean washrooms are a stones’ throw away. Very very quiet at night, occasionally foggy. If RVing please note that the serviced sites I saw seemed packed in side by side like sardines. I had a lovely one night stay and awoke to views of the channel and surrounding hills.

Hello sued889, We built to provide the best possible service to every customer who walks through our door. We can’t thank you enough for taking the time to share your feedback with us and reminding us why we do what we do. Providing additional signage and instruction is definitely being discussed at this time to make the after hours check-ins easier in the future. We greatly appreciate the feedback and look forward to welcoming you again soon. Sincerely, Management

We stayed in one of the Cliffside glamping tents - wow! The views were amazing and we sat for ages looking out over the water; we sat eagles, seals and sure we saw whales in the distance. The facilities were clean and well kept; as a glamping tent we used the main washrooms which were clean and plenty of hot water. Bed was comfy and the tent equipped with blankets etc to keep warm and cosy.

My only advice would be to bring mosquito spray or even think about getting a mosquito net from the Canada Tire in Campbell River as I did get bitten quite a bit, although is to be expected given the location and by water.

The restaurant was really good and large and tasty portions. We also made use of the BBQ one night.

We've never never heard about this resort before but it was definitely amazing. We stayed five nights in the Wolf cabin right in the bay and the second night we stayed there we watched a humpback whale swim right past the bay as we were eating supper. Every day we saw some form of sea life, such as sea lions, harbor seals, orca's and humpbacks. We also checked out the fisherman's loop a natural hike in the lush rainforest, just beautiful. The games room/clubhouse was awesome and the hot tub also amazing. Both of our cabins had a view out to the bay, with beautiful and stunning views, they were impeccably clean and bright and uniquely decorated to the names of the cabins. The only thing we were disappointed about was the fact there was no restaurant open but I guess they had to close it for the season. Highly recommend this site for a family vacation!

Hello Lynne, Thank you for your kind words, . We’re grateful for your feedback. It’s our pleasure to provide the best possible service to our guests, and we’re glad that this commitment was reflected in your visit. Staffing shortages has been an ongoing battle since the pandemic and we are hopeful that we will be able to offer better hours for the restaurant in the future. We look forward to the next time we’re able to serve you again. Have a wonderful day! Sincerely, Management

This was our first experience at Glamping so didn't know exactly what to expect.
The Tent offered exceptional ocean view & was more that adequate, size wise, supplying everything you might need to be self sufficient, with the exception of a convenient washroom. Having said that the shared bathroom was very clean & up to date just a little out of reach at 5 am when nature calls!.
Large water tanks are supplied also, as there's no running water which requires all dishes to be washed outside at a washing up station provided.
All of which we we're prepared for. However We we're promised a good internet connection prior to arrival only to discover it was so sketchy that it was virtually nonexistent. I asked for some compensation or gift voucher to make up for this to no avail. Given the cost of the accommodation we felt somewhat let down.
Having planned to Kayak from our tent we were sorry to learn that it was too dangerous with the strong current and whirl pools in the narrows. Also the water was way too frigid for swimming. Be prepared to drive at least 15-20 klm along dirt road out of the resort to access a lake for swimming.
Loved the location however wouldn't return given the price & various downsides.

Great until it Wasn’t - What a great RV site but for the high price that is what it should be. We stayed here twice. Unfortunately the second time was the month of October when the services were cut short. The hot tub, which was one of the draws was shut off part way through the month and then the washrooms near our site were closed next. The clubhouse was unheated except for a wood stove which did not fully heat the space. The office hours decreased so we could not bring up our concerns. It seems they were closing things down early as part of their seasons end. This was not disclosed to us and we ended up paying full price for partial service. Not acceptable!!

Beautiful campsite overlooking the ocean. We saw cruise ships, barges and all kinds of watercraft going by. The washrooms are clean and great showers. There is a nice clubhouse to gather in and they have bbqs and freezers for use. No fires. Bring an extra water hose because the hookups will be on the opposite side of your trailer. The 5km forest service road makes it slooow going but the views are worth it. No real privacy between sites but we were all watching the water anyway.

I was part of a group of ten women who rented three cabins for a women's getaway weekend. The accommodation was perfect. We could prepare our gourmet dinners in the cabin's well-equipped, modern kitchens. The beds and bedding were comfortable, with lots of towels and extra blankets for the cool April evenings on the porch.

We loved the hot tub and the games room for gathering in the evening. It is a beautiful location and all the cabins have stunning views of Seymour Narrows and Quadra Island on the other side of the Narrows. One evening we saw a seal fighting with an octopus from the porch and spotted blue herons, eagles and cormorants.

A four-hour boat tour by Discovery West Adventures left the marina and was a highlight for our group. The staff was great and the location can't be beat! We will be back next year!

Are there “dog-free’ cabines? I would love to stay in Brown’s Bay Resort but I have a dogallergie....
Answer from Esther Hollink
Vancouver Island, Canada
Good day Astrid, Our Glamping tents are pet free. We do not allow any pets in any of the Glamping tents. There is an option to stay in the Glamping tents with a three piece bathroom and hot and cold water or a slightly more rustic style. The more rustic style tents are perched on the cliffs overlooking the ocean, they have a bathroom building a small distance away, no running water in the tents, but there is power. All our tents come fully equipped with cooking facilities, extremely comfortable beds, linens, towels and a large deck with bbq, boasting stunning ocean views. For more information please check out the accommodation section on our website. Best regards, Esther Director of operations Browns’s Bay Resort
