Property's Favorite Review
We have been lucky enough to visit the B&B several times over the past five years. Over that time the B&B has gone from brand spanking new to now having the patina and ambience that comes from gentle use and loving mainenance. In other words it is now beautifully and properly broken in. Do not get me wrong though. The owners, Mike and Amber, are always making improvements and adding nice touches here and there. This is done with a view of making the B&B a more polished and comfortable experience and not in any way because the "newer is better" philosophy that some people have. Overall, the B&B and its surrounding grounds are world class and getting better all the time. Now we get to my favourite part: the food. The mere thought of breakfast when at the B&B is enough to get me to actually hurry my shower and rush to the dining room (after dressing of course). I really enjoy being greeted with a cup of fresh coffee and being able to savour it while sitting on a stool and watching Amber cook. If you have read any of my previous reviews you already know she is not a good cook, rather she is a great cook with a mastery of many cooking techniques. Over the course of our stay the breakfast Amber and Mike served alternated between sweet and savoury. This is not only fun and delicious but it also allows her to be more creative and artistic. Whether you say "oh, my goodness" or "gott im himmel" (inside joke) you will be surprised and amazed by the high quality of the food. Each breakfast is two courses at least and I will give you some examples. Our first breakfast was freshly made granola with yogurt and fresh berries. This was followed by stuffed french toast surrounded in fresh peach compote and garnished with a thick strip of perfectly cooked hand cut bacon that had been dipped in chocolate. It was soooo good. Our second breakfast was smoked salmon and freshly made aioli served on toasted dark rye bread and garnished with capers and pea tendrils (see picture). This was followed by a tomato tart with a corn meal hand formed crust topped with smoked salmon and slices of armesan (see second picture). Our third and fourth breakfasts were amazing as well and included our favourite course: freshly picked huckleberry compote served over fresh raspberries on a rich vanilla coffee cake, and with freshly whipped cream on the side (see third picture). In summary I would say that if the Michelin Star people ever bother to come to Canada then the B&B should be in the running for a star. If you are ever in the West Kootenays you owe it to yourself to stay at the Pass Creek B&B. PS: Mike is a member of the Pass Creek Volunteer Fire Dept. and if you are really lucky you might get a tour and get to work the siren on the big truck.

We already have a 'Star' as we feel we have been the “lucky” ones to have you and your lovely family as guests in our B&B for the past 5 years! We feel deeply appreciative of you as guests and friends, and if the truth were known, it is us who feel privileged to know you and have your charming selves at the B&B. We always look forward to seeing you. It is absolutely delightful to be privy to your inner circle and better yet to be included and be a part of the lively discussions and laughter that is ever present when you reside at the B&B. Cooking for you all: even more of a treat. There is ‘No-thing’ a cook loves more than to see the eyes of a gourmet light up when food is being presented and of course the final empty plate tells the true tale. Yes, we are very “lucky” indeed! Thank You so much for your thoughtful stirring review. Warmest Wishes, Pass Creek B&B

You wouldn’t expect to find accommodation of this quality on a verdant hillside in BC’s Slocan Valley. The immaculately clean and spacious rooms, and the caring service provided by the gracious hosts make for an exceptional experience. A very private, quiet retreat – a refuge from the hectic day-to-day.

I do not always write reviews, but as I have stayed here a few more times since 2014 it seems overdue. The all amenities are great quality, as good as I have seen anywhere. The mattress is also as nice as I have experienced in 5-star hotels. The rooms are large, with comfortable seating and typical luxuries (kettle, tea, HDTV) on hand in the living area. Location is ideal for getting away from the rat race, and staying disconnected is easily done. Hosts are great, and the meals are incredible! Always a great stay. 😁

Mike and Amber were very welcoming and accommodating. I stayed there weekly for 10 months of business trips to Castlegar. The suite was very clean and tastefully furnished. I would recommend staying there to anyone of my friends and family.
