This hotel is run by crooks. DO NOT STAY HERE! They get you to sign a slip of paper (not an official document) that says the stay is non refundable before you even see your room. Then when you realize the place has the comforts of a crack house and you try to cancel your second night, they refuse to refund your unused night stay. They are shady. This location is being used as a homeless shelter and they're trying to pass it off as an incredible place to stay for a vacation. FRAUDS! The online pictures are completely false and don't depict the actual state of the hotel one bit. Tenants being evicted in the morning, recent drug use/paraphernalia and social workers doing wellness checks. Went to Bayview for our second night (which was fantastic!) and they indicated that they "routinely" get customers coming to their hotel to salvage their plans after booking with Travelodge.

We booked this place last minute on a holiday weekend. Then we read the terrible reviews, so upon arrival we asked to see the room before paying the full amount for it. The receptionist at the front desk was extremely nervous, and refused point blank to let us see the room before staying in it, stating “Look at the photos on the internet. Your room is exactly like that. It’s hotel policy, we cannot let you see the room before you book.” Well, the room was nothing like the internet pictures. The first thing you notice is a sort of humid cigarette smell that they tried to cover with stinky aerosol, even though the rooms are all supposedly non-smoking. There are big carpet stains, the bathroom door is peeling off in a large chunk, the walls are paper thin, and there are coffee stains on the sheets. Free breakfast consists of a brown bag with a granola bar, a water bottle and an apple. The worst though, is that they started hammering on our ceiling at 7:45 am, on a Holiday Monday. They were apparently redoing the floors... For 50$/night this would be a bad deal. But for 150$/night this motel is a downright scam! We drove by the Best Western, the Super8 Wyndham, and the Bay View Hotel, and for similar prices, they are definitely better deals. Seriously, just don’t book the Travelodge Comox.

I stayed at this hotel with my husband and dog and my elderly parents because our Airbnb that was booked fell through. I called the hotel before we left Vancouver to confirm if there was an area to BBQ as we would be bringing food to do so and the front desk staff said there was. When we arrived to the hotel we were told we can’t BBQ, there was no where to park our boat at a hotel in a fishing town, the hotel was filled with crackheads. We were constantly scared that we would be robbed, at 2am there was a crackhead banging on our door looking for someone. My elderly parents who were booked for a week asked to checkout 3 days early because they didn’t feel safe and were told that they would get no refund if they did. This hotel is disgusting and the way the staff treat their good customers is atrocious. I will never be back and I urge no one to ever go here!

The front desk staff very friendly, kind, and helpful. But the hotel room itself was disappointing. The room was dark, extremely dated and the furniture old and worn. Felt like a 70’s hotel room. Dark furniture, dark features. Cheap old appliances. Ugly bathroom. The room was clean though. The ice machine didn’t work and no other ice available. Plus it required inconvenience of having to go get a key to ice room and returning it to front counter if ice available. The hotel boasts providing free breakfast. Beware of this. The “free breakfast” consisted of going to the front desk in the morning to receive a bottle of water, an apple and a granola bar in a small bag!!!! Seriously?? Not impressed by this hotel considering the many other options in this city. Look around.
