This is a great little spot to tent for a night or two-but be sure to bring ear plugs! The trains pass through the canyon in the middle of the night and the horn reverberates loudly all around. However, if you have earplugs it's not a big deal. And this campsite is worth it. It's well tree in the back-a... More

When I first read the reviews online for the campground, all the comments about the train scared me to death. But we were last minute booking for canada day long week-end. Only A few camp sites are close to the water/train And so many camp sites are so far And You can't hear any of that. Im sure calling You... More

Booked a site, #1 to be exact and were quite happy. Power didn't work and the water hose exploded but their young lady was OSUM! Then late in the evening a motor home pulls across the front of my truck plugs into the hydro. I go to the office and they tell me they were trying to make that camper... More

We tented here for 2 nights. Many of the sites have very few/no trees, so there is very little privacy. Our site was right along the river, which was nice, except for the busy pathway. We had no privacy on any side of us. Also, the train tracks are directly across the river. Multiple trains go by during the day,... More

Since Whispering Spruce Campground was so close to the highway and the tourist information, we checked it out first. It was early pre-season and the place was under new management, which obviously still had a heap of to do's on its list. That, combined with the considerable noise from the highway and fairly steep prices caused us to move on... More

The train is across the river and that can disturb your sleep but generally it's just background noise. Nice trees between campsites, walking trails behind campground, reasonable price, close to rafting companies, showers available, convenience store onsite is well stocked with things you might need when camping (ice-cream, matches, wood etc).

i had a little trouble with water taps & hoses ,the water connection at my site & all the so called full hook-up(power&water) sites are at the very front of the sites? almost all serviced RV park sites place this connection about midway or more to the back of a RV site. So it was about 35ft from my trailers... More

This campground is always our favorite when we pass through Golden. Off the hiway and nice and quiet. Great for train watching too but not so much if train noise bothers you. There are some longer sites with 30 amp power and water but no sewer. There is a sani-dump on the premises.

Campground looked nice from the picture. On arrival it is self registration as per winter season. High school right next door. Students driving fast up and down plus congregating outside the school smoking something other than cigarettes. Would not go to this one again
