The fantastically beautiful lodge and location, plus the exceptional care provided by Chris, Mark and Mel made our trip memorable. Chris and Mark led hikes that were suitable for our hiking abilities. The owner, Chris, is clearly committed to the environment and especially to maintaining the pristine quality of the mountains in the area. We appreciated his commitment very much. Chris is also a knowledgeable resource about everything in the area: the geology, the wildflowers, the animals and its history.
The rooms are spare but quite comfortable. The food was delicious.

Just back from 5 days at Talus, what a great place. We travelled from UK and were made very welcome by the team at Talus and the other guests. Chris and Mark were knowledgeable and safe guides with a steady and safe approach to their job, the food Sue produced at this remote location was by far the best we had during our time in Canada. Hiking out daily we experienced a wide range of weather conditions, flaura and fauna aplenty, overall a wonderful experience, we hope to return. Richard and Caroline

A wonderful experience with a lodge set in a spectacular part of the Canadian Rockies. Great hiking with magnificent views, geology and so much more. Chris and Mark were excellent and knowledgable guides and Sue was an outstanding chef. The lodge is comfortable with its wood burning stove, the rustic shower and sauna house were welcoming after a hike and the outhouse were very clean. All in all, an amazing experience that was enhanced by the great people we met and became friends with. We would highly recommend this place to anyone who wants to see one of the most beautiful places in BC.

Chris and his crew took exceptional care of our group of ten women celebrating the 20th anniversary of our hiking group. Sue cooked wonderful meals, Mark and Chris were very patient and knowledgeable guides. They made this trip an exceptional experience for all of us. The Lodge is very comfortable, the helicopter rides are totally awesome and the hiking complete with magnificent views and spectacular wild flowers made it a weekend to remember.

My wife and I returned early this week from an incredible stay at Talus, which I can heartily recommend. One of the best experiences ever for anybody who wants to get away from it all and experience some terrific hiking.
Chris and his small team are incredibly knowledgeable, warm and friendly. The lodge location is amazing, with great views of The Talon and many other mountains, including Assininboine. The copter trips to and from the lodge were awesome.
The somewhat challenging daily guided hikes took us across snowfields and loose scree, to waterfalls, lakes and many overlooks. There are no marked trails but we felt safe and well-led at every step. We loved meeting the other guests, a relaxed and fun group.

The lodge itself is rustic yet comfortable, with only a dozen guests. Food was very good, hearty and tasty. Talus is not for those who want all the modern conveniences. But for those with a more adventurous spirit, I think it's perfect. The outhouses are lit and well ventilated, and attached to the lodge by a deck. The ingenious bucket showers worked just fine. The toasty sauna was welcome after a long hike. The lack of wi-fi was a plus.
I can even recommend a (brief) dip in one of the nearby ponds, which at the time we were there still were partly covered with ice. We hope to return soon!
