We just got back from a 5 night stay, stayed right after labour day weekend ended. Came back as last year was great experience, and this year was even better. Main reason we come is sxs riding-there are trails of all types and skill levels that you would need weeks to cover. And photo opportunities are extensive. Best riding we can think of anywhere. As well we had kayak and fishing time on both parts of the lake which was great. And this time of year was good for perfectly ripe blueberries during sxs rides. Cabin is great and completely outfitted, right on the water, ride from door step, can't ask for much more. Chris is super helpful and can really fill you in on where to go and what to watch for. They definitely want to be sure you are happy with everything. We started making plans and extra things to bring for next year while driving home!

We stayed here for a couple of nights in spring, and were pleasantly surprised by it. I have probably driven by here over a hundred times, and used to think, "who would stay there, so close to the highway?". Well, one of my college mates rang me up, and asked to go fishing, somewhere "within a few hours drive" from Vancouver. Being a Kamloops fishing guy, I knew that fishing quality gets better the further you go North-East (best would be the high plateau between Merritt and Kamloops - but that is a 4+ hr trip). Anyhow, the price was right, so we booked into the Coquihalla Lakes Lodge. We were immediately surprised at how clean and well kept the cabin was! I've stayed at many fishing cabins, and know how they can get beaten up over the years, but this was really well maintained. Sure, it's no Westin hotel, but consider where you are. Firewood was pre-stocked, and the fireplace was pre-set for a fire complete with firestarter! Speaking of that, the cabins are on the little lake, facing away from the highway. As such, the traffic noise is abated - you can still hear it, but it is still very peaceful, having a coffee or cocktail on the deck. It is quite a small lake, so we used our electric motor to putter over to the larger lake to fish; the highway is visible there, so the traffic is much more noticeable, especially the big trucks/lorries. We trolled with fast sink lines using black Doc Spratley flies, and had consistent fishing action - probably 15-20 trout to the boat in a leisure day of fishing. They were tiny fish however, as would be expected for this area; Mark talked of larger fish 2+ lbs., but I am skeptical of that; all ours were well under a pound. If the fish sizes were larger, I'd consider going back, but because they do not allow dogs, this is puts up a roadblock for us. But if you are ok with just little fish, or are going for snowmobiling or back-country skiing, this is a place you should check out.

excellent experience!! our cabin was amazing. It was very clean, large, and well equipped. We caught lots of fish and had a few for dinner. trolling with worms worked the best. Chris was our host and he was super nice and very helpful. He truly cares about the experience of every guest. We forgot to bring bait and he tracked us down some worms and brought them right to us on the lake. We will come back again and again. This place is a GEM!!!
