With just eight guest rooms (three of which have two separate bedrooms), we offer a high level of personal service and attention to detail. All of our individually-designed, modern rooms have private bathrooms, high-speed Internet access, refreshment facilities with fridges, HD satellite TV, a/c and individually controlled heating.

Detailed Reviews
What a beautiful little hotel. A small house that has been made into a hotel and not just your normal hotel, but cute, quaint and charming.
The owners and staff (Cindy) go above and beyond to make sure that your stay is comfortable. Cindy went over what was being done as extra measures since COVID hit. I don’t think they needed to do much as you could tell that the hotel was very well kept and the rooms were clean before but it was nice to know that the little extra’s were in place.
The room we had was spotless, comfortable, cozy, and had the extra little touches like oversized bath towels - and not just your normal hotel towel. Our room had a little porch sitting area and it was so nice to sit out there in the morning to have a coffee.
We were within walking distance to stores and great restaurants. No bar on site which is totally fine with us as there are so many place.
Definitely will be back again!

15 nights touring in BC and Alberta, I was very selective in my bookings, selecting the gerr st locations and highest quality, with medium to high cost budget.
I can safely say this was the best accompaniment overall.
We took the top room apparently (2 double beds and a kitchen), it is roomy, exceptionally clean and furnished to a high standard. I would be happy to spend 2-3 weeks here as it had everything you need.
It was 33 degrees centigrade when we arrived, but the 3 AC units assured a very comfortable room.
Location…. Is always key and I could not think this hotel could be better placed for the historic high street, restaurants and bars.
Chris, the owner is originally from Cheshire in the U.K. and could not have been more welcoming or helpful.
I’ve stayed in some very fine hotels from all over the world, but this place really ticks all the boxes for an enjoyable, comfortable stay.

I am sorry that I have only just seen this! Thank-you so much for your generous comments (not sure we could run those three a/c units full time if we had the UK's energy costs though...). Thanks for taking the time to give us your feedback.

With two teenagers it can be challenging to find rooms that can accommodate all of us and still to provide us other space. The Cloudside hotel did not disappoint! We were in the Cherry room and we all had our own space. It was relaxing and peaceful and we also made use of the rooftop patio to catch up with some family who lived in Nelson. Customer service was also fantastic. Oh, and the location was absolutely perfect and central to everything!

Thank you so much for the amazing review Kelly, we are so happy to hear you enjoyed the Cherry tree Apartment, and the space worked well for your family. I'm so glad you managed to squeeze in sometime on the deck, though I'm not so sure the weather obliged. This type of review really does make our day, thank you again, and we do hope we might see you again if your travels bring you back to Nelson.

This is a renovated house with 6 rooms of various sizes and rates. The staff (owners?) are super friendly. Our room had a mini fridge, coffee maker and kettle. There are no dining facilities on site. There are 4 free parking spaces, otherwise it's street parking with meters in force from 9-5. The staff is happy to plug the meters for you during your stay. Beautifully decorated, nice linens etc and spotlessly clean.

I had a four night stay here in June and loved it. Everyone was super friendly and nothing was too difficult. Had some great chats with all the staff. It felt like I was at home. Our room was great - we had a lounge area and separate bedroom. The lights go out at 10.00 pm so room was nice and dark and quiet.

We stayed here just one night but it was enough to take in the charm of this lovely hotel. Our room was tastefully decorated and equipped with all we might need during our stay. The bed was particularly comfortable and the fan so quiet you didn’t know it was on. We were in the Cedar room with private bathroom down the corridor - that too had everything we could possible need and added a certain charm to our stay.
Chris went out of his way to remedy a slight admin hiccup for us for which we were very grateful. It is not often someone will go that extra mile for their guests. Thank you Chris!

We chose Cloudside based on reviews and were very happy with our choice. The entire place was spotless and the staff was very friendly. We loved the room and the deck out the back was fantastic on a warm night. Would definitely recommend.

We stayed at this place years ago, when it was a B&B. it’s since been converted into an inn. We decided to indulge ourselves and sprung for a larger room. We got the Willow Room, which occupies almost half of the main floor. It has a large bedroom, a separate sitting area and it own porch. The entire inn is nicely appointed, and it’s only a block from the downtown area. a very relaxing place to stay

This place thought of everything! Our room was so welcoming and comfortable, absolutely spectacular. The owner is on site and ensures your stay is of the utmost quality. We have stayed all over the country, and this is by far one of if not the best place we've ever stayed. We enjoyed it so much that we intend on making this an annual adventure.

I stayed here for 1 night on a solo trip on my first ever visit to Nelson. Be warned that parking in Nelson is a nightmare - there are 4 parking spots behind the hotel which can be tight to get in to if you have a large vehicle.
I was warmly greeted by Chris who was very friendly, helpful and informative. I stayed in the Aspen room which was perfect. The room was immaculately clean, and the bed was sooooo comfortable. My only complaint is that the blind at the window doesn't filter the light out so I was awake as soon as it started to get light out (I'm a terrible sleeper). The floorboards are a little squeaky, but then it's a heritage home, so not totally unexpected. I loved the old fashioned radiators - even though I didn't need to use them (open window and ceiling fan for me!). The bathroom had everything I needed, and again, immaculately clean.
If I ever return to Nelson, I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again - it's a charming little place. Oh, and whoever wrote the guidebook for the hotel has a great sense of humour lol.

I am grateful that you took some time to give us your feedback. I do agree that this particular room gets bright quite early in the summer and I think that you make a good point about some blackout blinds. I think should do something about that - thanks for pointing this out. And we are very happy that you enjoyed the rest of the room.
