Stayed at this hotel a year ago and it has defintely improved from our last stay, which wasn't too bad. The bed was so comfy and the room was exceptionally clean and comfortable. The bathroom was quite dated, but had all you needed for a...More
My husband and I planned a last minute trip to Nelson and booked 2 nights at Villa Motel.
The motel looks a little dated as you drive past and on arrival it is clear that the place needs a good bit of TLC to smarten...More
The staff and accommodations are fine but the parking and the pool hours aren't.
The pool doesn't open till noon which is unfortunate as many people want to use it before they check out, the parking "sucks" as it's "first come first served". The free...More
Nicely renovated rooms. The kids enjoyed winding down in the pool. We also cooked supper on the BBQ. A short walk across the bridge brought us to the beach where we enjoyed a movie in the park. The Villa had the best motel waffle batter...More
The Villa Motel was a pleasant surprise... it looks a bit run down from the outside but my room, actually a 2-room suite, was in great shape... apparently recently reno'd. TV, fridge, a/c and wi-fi worked fine. Bathroom was a bit dated but clean. The...More

I didn't know Trip Advisor had this feature. Sorry for the extreme delay in providing an answer to your question. For the moment, our Online Travel Agents (Expedia, Hotels, Booking, etc) show us as a "no meal included". However, we offer a complimentary continental that is from 8am-10am in our small lobby that serves waffles, toast, bagels, cereal, coffee, tea, and juice.
In 2018, we will launch our first restaurant on-site that will feature a hot breakfast.

Great question. One that not all businesses explain why they do or don't accept cats. We accepted cats until an incident 4 years ago. One of our guests brought in a cat and assured us she had a litter box and litter. Her room was set to do not disturb for 10 nights. Due to other reasons we had to enter the room. Let's just say we got the shock of our life. Unfortunately there was a hefty price to be paid to rectify this issue and loss of sales. Not sure if it was due to the length of stay but we had to gut the room and bleach it. Even then the stench wouldn't go away. We bleached the bones of the room 4 times a day for two weeks. Then rebuild the room from the bones.
Cats are very clean animals and it is often the owner at fault. Dogs need to be walked publicly multiple times daily. Cats remain in the room. This added layer of obscurity is the reason.
Dogs do make little accidents but these have always been easy to fix. As an accommodation we need to be able to fix any types of problem within a day as we need to resell a room.
I hope that answers your question. Bottom line is that accepting cats is too much of a risk considering how badly we were affected. The memory of that incident is almost traumatizing.

"although the price includes continental breakfast, it really was not very good quality food."
