When we arrived at the campground it felt quite spacious, but as it filled up we found that our neighbours were very close indeed - infact within inches. Nonetheless, the place was very quiet and people friendly and courteous. (Brtish manager!) Washrooms were quite dated but adequate. Revelstoke was (is) a railroad town, and the musuem, though fairly compact, is a must see. It's an easy walk from the campground, but RV parking is easy. Parts of the town feel a bit down-at-heel, but the small central area is pleasant with nice hotels and bars. We did a whitewater rafting trip from here, which was a lot of fun, with an un-intended extra bit of excitement when our leader/steerer fell off the back of the boat! We also did the long and very worthwhile hike from the top of the Revelstoke Provincial Park. Although relatively level we found it tiring because of the altitude (my excuse!) The wild flowers along the long winding road to the parking area (reserved RV spots) were fabulous!

Thank you so much for taking the time to provide such an informative review. We're happy to hear that despite being busy, you enjoyed a quiet stay here. We have a few projects on the radar and an update of the bathrooms is one of them. It's great that you got to explore the area and see the beautiful wildflowers at Mount Revelstoke NP. They, along with the Railway Museum, as you note, are a must see for sure. We hope you enjoyed the rest of your travels here. Many thanks again.

My lil family met our friends family to camp here at lamplighter in The Big Eddy of Revelstoke. It was so perfect to be able to walk the dog along the river and dyke of town or to get to the local farmers market in the heart of downtown.. so convenient! The hosts were very friendly, informative and courteous. And it was very clean; the grounds, communal kitchen and most importantly, the washrooms :) Thank you for a wonderful stay.

Traveling from Washington State to Calgary, we wanted to spend a couple of days inthe Revelstoke area. I read all of the reviews on Tripadvisor, and we decided to stop at the Lamplighter Campground. The "No Vacancy" sign was out when we arrived, but manager found us a spot. Very friendly and welcoming folks. The spaces are tight, as are most commercial campgrounds. We paid $35.00 a night for full hookups. My power meter showed good power, 30 amp. But the weather was cool when we were there, so there were not a lot of A/C's running. The campground was very quiet, had all the amenities and all most every space was occupied. There was a lot of rain before and during our stay, and some of the sites were flooded. The manage did say that the drainage was the next thing on their work list to have corrected. The WIFI here is smoking fast! I wish ours at home was as fast as the one at Lamplighter. The manager said that they have really invested in a comprehensive WIFI system We were able to stream movies from DISHanywhere with out lag, Even in the afternoon and evening the WIFI never slowed. Our Verizon data is limited as we cross Canada, so this fast WIFI was a great find. We stayed in a 30 bumper pull. There were a LOT of rental motor homes with European's traveling across Canada. Nice Place.

We had a one way deal to bring an RV from Vancouver to Calgary and decided to stay here for a single night on our journey. The lady at the front desk was exceedingly friendly. I purchased a bundle of wood, but it rained that night, and she happily took the wood back and refunded my money the next morning. Our kids enjoyed the playground, and we didn't notice the train that everybody else seems to. If I were ever to do the same trip again, I'd be quite happy to stay here.

Stayed here total of 4 nights in 2 separate stays in past week. Requested site change for return stay and although campground was full when an opening came up we received a phone call offering us the site. They could easily have booked a new customer into it but honored our request. Bathrooms, showers are clean and well priced. Sites have large well maintained trees, with shady and sunny sites. Good value for the price. Free Wifi. Nice childrens playground. They even loaned us their shop vacuum for a broken glass cleanup. Our interactions with owners and staff were positive. Revelstoke has trains passing through it and you will hear them but we like the sounds of a train.
