Not a planned stop. Two star at most. Room was tired and the only thing stopping me from calling it grungy is that the shower, toilet, sink, some flooring and lights were updated. I had to dust off the headboard, however the bedding was clean though put on sideways! How does that happen...did whomever not notice that the top sheet head was not at the top of the bed and that the ties of the duvet cover were not at the end of the bed:( Walls, baseboards, doors, AC not clean. Used Kleenex on the floor behind the mini fridge and bedside table (I had to search for a plug in to charge up my phone). All this does not make for a restful night sleep. I would recommend finding something nicer.

Stopped with the family for the night on the way to Vancouver from Grande Prairie. Reception was nice, rooms were clean and beds decently comfy. They also offered a fire pit with unlimited wood and bbq's with supplied propane. A nice touch to sit around and suck back a few cold ones after a long drive !

I booked through a booking site, and immediately received an email asking me to upgrade for a small amount (which I did). When I arrived, I was told that the housekeeper had not come in and I was being given another room with a King bed, for the same price. Unfortunately, in reality, I was downgraded. The room was old and tired. Yes, the bathroom had been redone, but the paint on the door was badly chipped, there was only one overhead light in the room (the second, over the bed, could not be used as the switch was located behind the high headboard). There had obviously been a water leak at some time (water stains on the ceiling, covered access planel was loose and out of place) and there was a moldy smell in the room. I turned on the bathroom fan, but that only made the moldy smell worse in the bathroom. For an overnight stop, it was just okay. Do I wish I had paid a bit more for something cleaner and more updated - YES! As other reviews said, it is basic and there are better options nearby.

We made an unplanned stop at the Valemount Vacation Inn on our drive from Whistler to Jasper. We chose the place to support a local independent place despite it looked a little tired from the outside. We found the food good at very reasonable prices. It was a relaxing low-key break on a long drive day and small talk with other guests and staff was a delightful plus.

We stayed one night in Valemount Vacation Inn as part of a group on tour. The room was fine, clean and comfortable. However the breakfast was the poorest quality I have ever had. Coffee was terrible and we kept having to ask for more milk as not enough was provided. There was no healthy option. overcooked scrambled eggs and cheep sausages were supplemented with sugary cereal and white toast and jam. No cheese, no healthier choice of bread. But the most unpleasant experience was when I asked the receptionist the night we stayed for help. I had left my usb charger behind and I asked if I could borrow one or have my phone charged for a few minutes at their desk. The receptionist could not have been more unhelpful. Although I could see usb chargers on the desk behind him, he just said he didn't have any. He seemed totally uninterested in trying to help me. He made me feel like a nuisance for even asking for assistant. Terrible service. Valemount may be a tiny town in the Canada but customer service and hospitality are qualities that every guest house, motel or hotel should not go without.
