Food at this B and B is brilliant and hospitality was excellent. The Dutch hosts are very helpful. Rooms were spacious and good wifi. We enjoyed looking round Truro and its parks, and visiting Nova Scotia.

This was our third stay at The Baker's Chest, and we are looking forward to our next visit. Beautiful rooms, and gracious hosts make this gem one of the best places for a getaway in Nova Scotia. The home and property are both homey, but beautiful and Nelly and Maarten are welcoming hosts!

My sister and I had a lovely stay here, en route to Cape Breton. The house is warm and inviting, our room was spotless and very comfortable, and our hosts were extremely friendly and wonderful cooks. We would recommend it highly!

Wonderfully warm greeting, clean comfortable rooms. We stayed in the Thomas Hamlin room - had a good night's sleep. Quiet surroundings, enough room in the bathroom to move around. Everything was spot on. The breakfast was excellent with the hosts taking time out to tell us about local attractions etc.

We stayed one night here en route to Prince Edward Island. Unfortunately we had the twin room which, of all the rooms, was definitely the least attractive. It's small, dark, pokey and not furnished to the same standard as the other rooms. The air con is a large free standing unit and far too noisy to leave on all night.... More

As we approached Baker's Chest, I thought, oh oh, this isn't what I expected. It is in a rather commercial/residential area and has no curb appeal. All that really shows is a big open garage with a Tearoom sign and an older white house with bushes in front and we drove right by it on our first pass. That said,... More

A wonderful B & B, very nice rooms and very clean! Nice to have air conditioning since we had a very hot week! Breakfast was delicious and the baked goods were scrumptious! Our hosts were very attentive!

Wonderful Inn, with friendly and attentive keepers. Maarteen waited for us until 11 pm and was extremely nice and helpful. Nice bedroom, bathroom and great premises. Breakfast was fun and a great start for our hiking adventure in the Fundy Bay. Definitely an excellent B&B.

The couple who run the b and b are quite nice and helpful. they told us about the tidal bore which you should see. They also have lots of good info on dining. Our room was well appointed and the breakfast was excellent.

Expecting some luxury, based on the reviews here, we experienced a no-frills, clean, but disappointing stay. The hosts were warm and friendly and the place is spotlessly clean, but otherwise, it's simple accommodations lacking amenities (e.g., where to put your stuff in the bathroom--on the floor?). Our room was on the second floor, just under the roof, and very hot.... More
