This is not fancy, but the price was right for the amenities. The room was clean. We stayed in early May so the restaurant was not running yet. The management directed us to a very good restaurant fairly close by. This is a short drive to the Tidal bore sighting.

When I finally saw a room it was very dated but reasonably clean. Others have highlighted its deficiencies so I won't repeat them here. My low rating is on account of the reception. From the outside the hotel looks dilapidated so I asked to see a room. Man refused "I don't want to go out in the rain" (It wasn't raining). When I asked for a key to take a quick look he refused saying: "people take advantage". (Of what on earth I don't know!). I was about to say: "Well if you don't trust me to look at a room for 5 minutes without taking advantage, (whatever that is), then why should I believe you when you tell me it's clean and O.K.?" Then I saw the sign: "Bikers please don't use the towels to clean your motorcycles", and there you have it in a nutshell: This is a low-class motel run by people who couldn't care less whether you stay or not, catering to a low-class clientel. If you think this is you then go ahead and save a few bucks. But if you are a normal person then do yourself a favour and continue to the properly-managed Comfort Inn a kilometer down the road.

We chose to stay here as a central spot to visit parts of Nova Scotia. We were on a month long vacation to the maritimes and took advantage of budget hotels where we could. This was a great place to stay. Pros: Price Location - both view and spot outside of Truro Quiet Clean Friendly staff at check in who gave us suggestions on what to see in the area Small Fridge Cons: I would like a kettle in the room I read other reviews and the comments about no shampoo in the rooms. This is a budget hotel and we were offered shampoo at check in. But I had brought some with me. There are other chain type hotels in the area who will charge you twice as much and give you a $0.99 bottle of shampoo. I think it depends on what you are willing to compromise for price.

The first thing I noticed were the colorful chairs lined up on the top of the hill overlooking the bay and the city. The Bay of Fundy ends right below the Inn and the city lights at night are so pretty. The room was comfortable and clean. A very nice place to stay.

This is a basic motel and the price reflects it. It was clean and the bed was comfortable. You won't find shampoo and lotion, but you will find soap and a hair dryer. The second floor requires you to use the steps. Plenty of good dining within a few minutes drive. If you want to see the tidal bore (especially during the night) this is the IDEAL location. Hop in the car and you're there in about 3 minutes. (Then go back to bed.) Contrary to the desk person, there is plenty of seafood in the area. Value and close to the tidal bore, that's why I'd suggest it for an overnight stay.
