We stayed at the MacKinnon-Cann Inn for one night as we were passing through Yarmouth towards the end of our East Coast holiday. Neil greeted us and was full of energy and excitement to give us a tour of his Inn. This house is absolutely beautiful!! So many things to look at and admire. The rooms have their own private... I was a guest at the MacKinnon-Cann Inn for a prolonged stay in the fall. Mike and Neil are some of the most compassionate and kind people I've ever met. I was in town for a clinical rotation at YRH and they were beyond accommodating. The Inn itself is extremely comfortable and well maintained. It is spotlessly clean both in... More

What a wonderful experience. The Inn is absolutely charming with its 'period' rooms. We were welcomed by our hosts upon arrival and taken care of in every way thinkable during our stay. Breakfast was wonderful and nothing too much trouble. We define excellence as quality, innovation and wellness - this Inn exemplifies all of these and more. Treat yourself to... More

We stayed at the MacKinnon-Cann for two nights in mid-June, and the experience was delightful. We had the Victorian-style room, but all the rooms we were able to see looked great. We loved the concept of each suite being ‘from’ a different era. There’s a sense of whimsy and imaginativeness about the whole place, supported by high standards of cleanliness... More

We loved this place and our hosts Michael and Neil were great. They made us feel like part of their family and this gorgeous homes history. The breakfast was great. I am gluten intolerant and Neil provided even though I did not ask. Plus, I forgot my jacket and it is already in the mail.

We always pick MacKinnon-Cann Inn when visiting or working in Yarmouth, NS. We stayed two nights during the NS Music Week in a comfortable 1920's style room with heated bathroom floor..... my favourite thing. The hosts were very flexible for breakfast times for the musicians and festival goers. We enjoyed sleeping a little late. Breakfast started with yogurt and wonderful... More

Our hosts Neil and Michael made our weekend in Yarmouth truly special. Neil welcomed us warmly and he was extremely helpful and knowledgeable about history of the town. The B & B is truly lovely and yesteryear revisited but with all the conveniences including a heated bathroom floor. Rooms were tastefully decorated, spotless, amazingly comfortable bed, beautiful linens, good shower... More

The room was nice. It would have been better if you didn't have to walk across a hallway to the bathroom. The weather was unseasonably warm the week we were in Nova Scotia and it was too warm to sleep comfortably. The small window fan was very noisy and was incapable of making the room comfortable. The overhead fan made... More

Dear Robert.... Thank you for your comments about your lodging experience. It has been very unseasonal weather in Eastern Canada this year, matter of fact across the country. Being located three blocks from the Ocean and on the Gulf Stream - Yarmouth has not needed AC - but since climate is changing, that may have to change to make the... More

This place is the best! We were greeted by the owner-manager who made us feel like celebrity upon arrival; he carried our bags, showed us around, and made us feel comfortable and at home. Dinner was a fabulous 3 course fixed price by Chef Michael in a comfortably appointed late Victorian suite of dining rooms. Lovely room, great night's sleep... More

Had a wonderful stay at this beautiful historic inn. The owners/hosts are so helpful and accommodating. Only regret is that we didn't make our reservation for the gourmet dinner before it was sold out....we won't make that mistake next time. We will definitely be back!
