Upon our arrival, we were upgraded right away to a loft suite (at no extra cost) very comfortable, extremely clean (which was not the case the night before at a Hilton hotel in the U.S.). Since all shops and restaurants were closed, due to the measures taken by the Government of Canada during the corona virus crisis, staff brought us food in our suite. We strongly recommend the Retro Suites Hotel in Chatham, Ontario. Staff looked after us with the utmost possible care. On our departure, they provided us with gloves, antibacterial hand wipes for the road, products that were unavailable in the stores at the time.

We love staying at the Retro Suites. Rooms are spacious and clean. The staff are so friendly and anxious to help in any way. Even during this pandemic and everyone fearful of germs, the Retor Suites have ensured the place is well sanitized and spotlessly clean. They never disappoint !

We stayed the weekend of November 13-15 for a wedding I was a part of. I think they actually had 2 weddings going on that weekend and they were phenomenal. We needed some extra linens in our room as well as some bottles of water and they were brought up within minutes. The hotel itself is AMAZING the decor in all the different rooms, the space in all the rooms and how high the ceilings were! This actually didn’t even feel like a hotel at all it was so big, roomy and comfy! Had never heard of it before but have already recommended it to friends and will be booking again soon without kiddos 😉

We stayed one night in the Library Room which is a King Premiere Suite. It was booked under the stay and dine special for $189.00 (normal cost using Expedia would be $177 for the room) which includes a $50 coupon towards dinner. The room was nice enough but there were a few issues. With COVID limitations, we chose to stay in and watch TV. However, there was only basic cable, so most of the channels shown on the listing were not available (very annoying as the few available channels were not marked in any way). Also, there is only one small desk, which made eating the delivered meal uncomfortable. Our meal was excellent. We both had the Beef Bacon + Bleu with onion rings. At $42.95 + $3.00 for the onion rings, the meal was not cheap. However, it was perfectly cooked and quite delicious. The onion rings were beautiful and the steak was a perfect medium-rare. However, there could have been more clarity. With assorted added charges (reasonable but not advertised) the meal cost about $135.00 for the two of us (less the $50 coupon). The bed was fine but the foam pillows were hard and uncomfortable and the single-piece covers were not really to our liking. The shower in the bathroom was wonderful, however. In summary, perhaps our expectations were too high but we have stayed in far nice places. We were just a bit disappointed. The room (& hotel) was nicely decorated but lacked the little extras that we have come to expect from a truly fine hotel. It was adequate for the money but not exceptional.

In regards to eating in your suite, this is a new issue with the current covid pandemic, however we can always bring a table and chairs up to your room if requested, sorry this was not reiterated to you. Foam pillows are all that we use at the hotel as we try our hardest to be an allergen free property and feather pillows are not in our circulation. Again we truly appreciate your review and your constructive criticism as we will only grow as a property from others feedback and experiences. Spent a wonderful nite with a few friends celebrating a 40th birthday. We got to eat dinner in the chilled cork private dining area and our server Erin was absolutely fantastic. Extremely on the ball,professional, made great reccomendations and super polite and friendly. Actually all the staff were very accommodating and friendly throughout the hotel,the level of customer service was a very high standard. The food was incredible, great portion sizes and delicious. We stayed in the Nantucket suite which has 2 bedrooms. This was our second stay in this room. My husband is disabled so this room is great for a wheelchair user, plenty of room to get around the bed and the bathroom is very accessible. My only suggestion would be to replace the shower with a roll in shower and drop down bench for a disabled person...for at least one of the rooms (and this one would be perfect). The hotel ambience is extremely unique with so many quirky things to look at on display. I highly recommend staying here whether for business, pleasure or to have an event. I have not one complaint about the retro suites. Keep up the good work!!!

Yes we couldn't agree more Aryn is a great server and a wonderful person, we are happy to have her as part of our terrific team. We are glad you enjoyed our Nantucket suite in our Premium Loft category, this is a favourite suite with many of our guests and is so spacious and comfortable with the two king beds and two full bathrooms. I can’t say enough about the personal service shown to us every time we stay at Retro Suites. Tina and her staff go out of their way to accommodate every request and more. Not only are the rooms spectacular, unique, huge and beds so comfy, but they gave us such an amazing rate so our Small town “Bruce County” kids could experience a very elite hotel at a very reasonable rate. Thanks to Tina for personally calling me the night before to make sure everything was good and also arranging for our team to be together in the same area. I believe this experience will be something my team will remember for a lifetime. Thanks again so much. I will stay here EVERY TIME I get the chance. 5 plus!!

We had a wonderful weekend staying at the Retro Suites last month. The Urban Studio room was exactly as it was pictured online. The bathroom was above and beyond what we expected with a soaker tub, heated floors and two sinks. The kitchenette was a great addition. The room was extremely clean and everything was well taken care of. The staff on the phone and at the desk were more than helpful. We ordered in dinner from the Chilled Cork and it was delicious. We would highly recommend this hotel and will definitely be back to try another themed room!

Check in was a breeze and our room on the third level was large and airy. The bed was comfortable but the pillows were just awful. Please consider investing in some good quality pillows.
It’s a shame that you don’t offer any kind of breakfast. A simple muffin in a bag would suffice. It’s kind of a drag having to hunt down breakfast in a strange town.
The internet kept dropping and I’d have to log in again.
Staff were very friendly and helpful.
There was a wedding party there on one of the nights we were there. The noise kept us up half the night as our room was right next door.
Overall it’s a funky interesting hotel. With better pillows and a simple breakfast I would return.

I thought that my room (Chic Antique) was quite underwhelming. Since all the rooms are different, you really don't know what you're going to get and some are a lot more elaborate than others. Chic Antique was quite bland, all neutral tones. I think this room could be spruced up with some faux flowers, more art work, etc.; still to theme but it would warm it up a bit. Also, my roomed smelled of cigarette smoke which I am quite bothered by. The hotel is no smoking so how does that even happen??
During COVID, retro suites is not serving breakfast. I have stayed at 2 other hotels for work during the pandemic (a holiday Inn and Comfort Inn) both of which has had bagged breakfast for guests, so this was a bit disappointing.
To no fault of the staff, the guests in the room beside me (222) were loud until 3am on my first night!! I didn't even know guests could stay in that room because it didn't have a theme name on the door, just the room number... so not sure what that was about. Some people are so inconsiderate.
I did really love the restaurant however. I was happy it was open (inside dining, take out or room service). I am gluten sensitive, and they were able to make me a GF pasta. I would give more stars to the restaurant. My server was also very lovely!

I reserved through the Retro Suites' website at a "discounted" price where I could pick the category of room but not the room itself. I booked well in advance and later saw cheaper rates. I was disappointed in the room "The Den". Although nice it was basically just like every other higher end hotel room and did not feel like a themed room. There was no patio and the doors had slated blinds which let in the numerous spotlights such that there was part of the bed we couldn't sleep on as it was directly hit by light. The bed was not comfortable and the pillows were a lumpy mess! When we opened the doors to let in some air, we had the staff smoking under our room. Also very disappointed that the restaurant closed at 2pm on a Sunday and although check out was at 11am the restaurant didn't open until 11:30. Overall I didn't feel that it was worth what I paid.

I was in cowboy room and my daughter told me why didn’t I try different rooms to see where I would like to stay next time..Tina said I would have to check out at 11am then check into new one at 3pm. I told her I had no place to go for that long, so she told me to phone in the morning & they would see what they could do.I did so and Jason graciously showed me 2 rooms I picked the Santa Fe room it’s so bright & huge & beautiful. He said I have Easy Rider room also but you probably wouldn’t want that it’s motorcycle stuff. I’m 78 yrs old so I said no. My son was disapointed because I didn’t get it, he’s a Harley man. He came to visit me I was there 6 days. But he said the Santa Fe room was beautiful & so clean& refreshing. I will definitely stay at Retro suites again in future. Loved it freindly helpful staff. Give 100% for sure March 2020
