This establishment was incredibly disappointing. This establishment had a cold welcome and unfriendly staff. I wish I could give it a zero out of five, and I would not stay here again nor recommend it to anyone.

Looking for a place with a view, peaceful, and good hospitality and clean, this place is a must. Great breakfasts! Steve and Linda not only make delicious meals but are great conversationalists. Lots of advice on where to go and what to see. Not handicap accessible, therefore a little challenging due to stairs and incline on the walkway ( only if you have bad knees though). We plan to return !

I wish there was a way to let all B&B owners know how lovely it is to read in bed! The bed here was heavenly -- sumptuous linens, beautiful mattress, duvet, and pillows. But the bedside lighting was so poor I had to wear my headlamp. We've stayed in B&B's across Canada and in Europe, and this is key to our enjoyment. Ironically, there was enough light in the room at dawn that I could have read anywhere. No curtains on the windows or french doors! I really didn't want to wear a sleep mask, but had to or I would have wakened with a migraine:-( The en suite was lovely, but had only a filmy bit of fabric blowing in the breeze, rather than a door. I suppose if this was a honeymoon suite, that would be fine, but it doesn't suit our tastes. And honeymoon would not work here -- sound travels in an open concept house! Very nice people. Kind, interesting, generous with travel advice, delicious breakfast, and conversation. But again, an open concept house just doesn't fit with our comfort needs. I wasn't sure who felt more awkward being there together -- them or us. Lovely beach a short walk down the road. Kids would love it -- the beach, I mean. This is not a B&B for families with children.

WE stayed with Steve and Linda while visiting the area to test/buy kayaks. We arrived late in the day tired, hot, and ready for a shower and rest. Steve graciously and very friendly met us a the door with a smile and handshake. The only house rule was to ensure that we latched the door so that the cats(which are well declared on the website) may escape. We were offered a cold drink, but having just finished our meal and wanting a shower we declined. We were shown to the lovely master suite on the top floor. A lovely, comfortable, large room with a spacious bathroom. Clean. Well appointed. Good comfortable bed. Desk space. Wireless. Satellite TV. It was a hot week(30+ degrees) and humid. The windows open and the ceiling fan helped however the room was warm. It did cool to a comfortable sleep by the time we went to bed. Steve was ready to direct us to the near by beach(a gem). Reviewed the nautical maps with us to help us plan our next days paddle. Linda is reserved and quiet...but opens up once she determines how much interaction the guest wishes/requires. My husband tends to be a bit reserved at first...and warms up as the evening flows. He enjoyed both Steve and Linda's company immensely. He has also asked that I be certain to mention the EXCELLENT, well prepared breakfast which is Linda's specialty. Someone in an earlier post mentioned :house rules. I would like to address as we stay often in BB's all over the world. Removing shoes is a standard...even in my home. One must never lose sight of the fact that although this is a business, it is also a home. That is the draw for most of us. Also, Linda did request that we leave our cooler downstairs as she is concerned about a leak on hardwood. We respected and understood the request. It was not an issue...a reasonable request. I am an asthmatic...and live pet free. The Cats are declared on the website. I never saw them in the house..only on the deck. There was no sign of cat hair anywhere(I wear socks so would know), and had NO reaction whatsoever. This was a spotless home. Our second night stay was delightful. Again we were greeted with a smile and interest in our days paddling. The host are not intrusive and take their cues from the guest as to how much interaction is required. I sat on the deck with Steve and Linda and the other guests and visited. My husband retreated to our room for a nap. We felt comfortable to do so. The other guests were a family both nights. Parents stayed in one of the singles, children(teens) int he other. Shared a bathroom. This seems to be a good arrangement . If you are uncomfortable sharing a bathroom, book the upper suite. It is worth the extra money. I would recommend this lovely home. Steve and Linda are gracious, caring, intelligent hosts. Thanks for making our stay so comfortable. Elaine and Jari
