The Bear Necessities B&B is a very nice log cabin feel apartment beneath the hosts house. All facilities are very clean with a great warm feel throughout. The bed in the room was really comfy, the best we've had on our whole trip so far! The kitchen facilities are basic (kettle, toaster, fridge, microwave and sink) but are enough to... More

This was our favorite accomodation in our trip around the Rocky Mountains. Suzanne is a perfect host, and the apartment is spotless and very well finished (I love sweet teddy bears everywhere). You can feel like at home, there are so many books, guides and information that probably you need to stay almost 1 month in Bear Necessities! Bed is... More

This was our first time staying at a B&B and we loved it, the room was very clean and quite large. They don't operate as a traditional B&B anymore as there is no breakfast but that was perfectly fine with us, there is a small kitchenette if you want to prepare your own breakfast. We stayed here for 5 nights... More

While on a 6 week road trip, we were fortunate to have stayed at Bear Necessities for three nights. I won't rehash what the other reviewers have said in regards to the accomodation but let me say it was everything we expected and needed. Great location away from the touristy areas in a nice neighborhood. Our hosts gave us our... More

Garth and Suzanne were wonderful. They looked after us so well. This was a perfect location for touring around the national parks. Clean, quirky and had everything we neeeded. Couldnt have asked for a better stay. Would definately recomend.

This is a great place to stay for a small family of 3. Bed was comfortable as well as the futon.. Quiet neighborhood. Felt very safe. IT is a basement/converted into a fabulous cabin type room. Coffee is great in the morning. The grounds are very well kept with nice flowers.. You can walk in the evening to a good... More

This one is really amazing! Great decor, private, and very nice! The room is a renovated basement suite with a half kitchen (microwave, fridge, sink, coffee maker). The decor is tasteful and goes with the woodsy-bear theme that relates to Canmore so perfectly! Has one bed and pull-out futon. Even if you're staying in Banff and can't find lodging, this... More

We spent 7 lovely days in the Banff area and our comfortable accommodations with Bear Necessities BnB made it even more wonderful! We wanted to see as much as possible and both had terrible colds, so when we were "home" we wanted quiet, comfort and rest. Suzanne was so great and the basement room was too. We weren't expecting the... More

We've stayed here in July2012 for 5 nights. We've had a very plesant stay. The B&B is well located near kananaskis country and near Banff National Park. It's a quiet, cosy and very clean place. We've just missed a bit of daylight, but that's just a detail, all the rest was very good!!
