The staff working here were the friendliest, most helpful and kind people I have encountered in a hotel ever. They definitely made up for the challenges of the current renovation. Our room was very comfortable and the view of the mountains was lovely. It was difficult not having good restaurant options for breakfast. There is a cafe with limited choices but they really should open the restaurant up for breakfast. There was a strike going on while we were there so maybe that was an issue. The pool was also closed so the the whole hotel feels a bit like a ghost town. I think that it is pretty expensive for the situation it's in at the moment but understand that it is an airport hotel so will be pricey. I cannot say this enough though: the staff were incredible. This makes such a difference and we really appreciated it.…
Great room, clean tidy and very comfortable bed ,but northing to eat or drink when we arrived everything closed on Monday , luckily it was a lovely day and we walked (10minutes) used directions from reception ) very helpful . We had a good Italian meal and a few drinks and some good shopping , them walked back and sat outside with our own drinks . As it was warm I thought I was looking forward to a swim in the pool but it was closed off and looked like it had not been open for years . I understand the reasons for the lack of amenities and staffing problems , but apart from a kettle in the room there were no other drinks offered . If we had known before we arrived we would have picked something up before leaving Vancouver station . We did appreciate the free taxi service to the airport .…
We used this hotel for our park and fly. We were not told the restaurant was closed nor were we told the property was on strike. They did not have a shuttle service but did pay for our cab. The value was not there for the price.
The place has obviously really suffered from the lack of travellers during the pandemic. Our stay cannot be a true reflection of what it would normally be like. During our stay the restaurant was closed, the pool needed cleaning, there was little else available. It is right next to the airport yet the rooms are very quiet. our bedroom was very clean and well presented. We would stay again.
The front desk staff were very friendly and helpful. We arrived early but our room was ready and we were able to check in. The room was large and the beds were VERY comfortable. The shower head was very strong which is exactly what we were looking for. Their shuttle to the airport isnt currently operating but they gave us a voucher for a taxi which was waiting outside the front entrance and was free. I have seen this hotel for years but had never been to it. I would happily stay at this hotel again.
This has been our go to place to stay when flying out of YVR. No more. No restaurant, minimal service, ghostly feel. All the result of firing almost all of its housekeeping staff. We will never stay here again.
We stayed here for one night before flying out the next morning to Mexico. We called as soon as we arrived at the airport. They sent a taxi to pick us up. Very friendly taxi driver. We did not pay for the taxi. Front desk staff give him a receipt. We also had the taxi to take us to the airport in the morning. Check in and check out ladies were extremely friendly and professional. Our room was gorgeous, facing the marina! It was quiet, very comfortable, bed was wonderful. It was perfect. We would definitely recommend this hotel.
Liked · Location by airport; free shuttle (actually a taxi); lovely burger with chef using initiative when we asked to swap fries for vegetables - the veg were really superb; staff, though thin on the ground, were all lovely; foyer and lobby areas beautiful comfortable, peaceful, and modern; price was good. Disliked · Hotel services very run-down due to fewer flights from airport; hotel felt dead and empty; daughter's bathroom was not as clean as would expect; rather sad dated decor in bedrooms; poor choice of breakfast in coffee shop; whole experience felt like some weird spooky movie.
The Pacific Gateway Hotel is very close to the airport and used to have a shuttle service but that been suspended and in lieu they will reimburse your taxi fare! The room was comfortable with 2 queen beds. Everything had been scaled back but still good. The in house restaurant served a limited menu and the staff were very friendly and attentive. I had a Caesar salad and the braised beef rib Pappardelle. Both were good and was washed down with a great local beer. In the morning I grabbed a buy and go sandwich and a coffee. Overall a good stay.
We have stayed here many times. We love the rooms, service, people etc. It feels like we are coming home each time we stay. The staff are always helpful and friendly. There rooms are very comfortable and I love their pillows.
