Many travelers commend the Fairmont Vancouver Airport hotel for its outstanding soundproofing, ensuring a serene rest despite its proximity to the airport. The immaculate cleanliness of the rooms and bathrooms consistently impresses guests, while the inviting atmosphere, often highlighted by live music, contributes to a pleasant stay.
While the service is largely noted for its attentiveness, occasional slower response times are mentioned. The hotel's strategic location within the airport garners high marks for convenience, although some guests feel the pricing is steep relative to the value offered.

Hotel's Favorite
Due to a very early arrival at Vancouver Airport and a 4pm check-in at our downtown hotel, we were in need of somewhere to shower and rest for a few hours and the day use packages offered by the Fairmont Vancouver Airport are just perfect for that!
The Fairmont is the only hotel located within the airport itself, so it's perfect for those who don't want the hassle of shuttle buses or taxis to their airport hotel. We arrived just before 8am after our flight from Australia and the check-in process was reasonably smooth, although it did take the receptionist a few moments to find an available room with two double beds as we had booked, instead of a king room.
Our room on the 8th floor was comfortable and modern, with great views of the airfield. The bedding was super plush, which was welcome after such a long flight. The bathroom was large with separate bathtub and shower and stocked with quality amenities from Le Labo.
Unfortunately we didn't have time to make use of the hotel's other facilities however there is plenty on offer including a pool, gym, spa and multiple dining options including 24/7 in-room dining.
For those who are more interested in a shower than sleeping, the hotel also offers guest access passes to the gym and pool with shower, towels and amenities all included for around $30. This is a great value option given YVR doesn't have an arrivals lounge anymore.
We were only there for a few hours, but the Fairmont certainly made a good impression and met all our needs. Would definitely recommend it!

This hotel has an excellent location inside Vancouver Airport so all you need to do is get up in the morning and walk to the terminal. The rooms are beautiful and the views of the planes are entertaining. They have a nice swimming pool, exercise room, sauna and steam room which is a relaxing way to spend some time. The only draw back is that there was only one restaurant open which you can walk to for dinner unless you want to eat in the over priced hotel one. The bar also served food and had entertainment so this might be another option.

As a family and in previous years we have stayed at the Fairmont Vancouver Airport several times when returning from overseas before catching a domestic flight the next day. Always a successful relaxation in a clean room with comfortable beds and a luxurious bathroom. This time our son spent the night on his own between two domestic flights on his way home from university. No complaints regarding room and service as usual.
As for the bitter note: while it is much appreciated in these times of Corona virus that the rooms are being disinfected, the extra cost of $20 is not. We would expect a five star hotel like this with high rates to be more generous with its guests (the way other service providers are, for example restaurants now offering free delivery) and waive the cost for the extra cleaning. Last but not least, not every guest enjoys sleeping in a room that smells intensely like bleach.
Secondly we were shocked to hear that there was an extra cost for wifi! Definitely not something to be expected of a 5 star hotel. Especially in times like these, where it needs less bandwidth due to a decrease of bookings.
We look forward to our next stay, hoping for a little more generosity!

The only room available was on the gold floor at a cost of $440. That is too much to pay at an airport hotel. But the room was very comfortable and the view was stunning. The restaurant served a mediocre dinner. The prosciutto was not thinly sliced and sparse. Two pieces were accompanied by a huge plate of burrata and tired melon. The risotto featured more cheese than rice.

While I assumed our stay at the Fairmont would be good, the experience exceeded my expectations. The staff member who checked us in (Andrea?) was extremely kind to us and our two year old, (she even sent up milk and cookies to our room which he thought was just the best). Overall the hotel was such a great place for kids, which I didn't expect.
Every other staff member we met or even passed in the hallway was friendly and personable. The food was fantastic. The rooms are beautiful, clean, and soundproof, and of course when traveling with young ones being in the airport makes things so much easier in the morning.
Thank you for a great stay!

We arrived at the Vancouver Airport at 2:00am after a six hour flight: on our way to Whistler Blackcomb ski resort - nearly a three hour drive.
I decided to book us into this incredibly convenient hotel for the night for a great night’s sleep.
My experience has been that Fairmont properties are not uniformly excellent but for our purposes that evening we were just looking for a clean room with comfortable beds. The fact that one did not need to leave the terminal in order to access the hotel was a huge benefit.
I was stunned by the calibre of our accommodation. We were so pleasantly surprised by the beautifully decorated room that I only regretted not having the luxury of more than ne night.
We were on the top Gold Floor. Our room was clearly newly renovated in the best taste. The desk chair was an iconic mid century design piece; the art work, shelves, coffee maker were all just as it should be.
We had floor to ceiling windows and a telescope! And guide so we could check out the different runways. The shades and curtains were electronically controlled as were many other features. The two Queen beds were exceedingly comfortable with first rate pillows and linens.
The Gold lounge was open although in the middle of the night not much was available, of course. But we found soft drinks, beer and a awesome coffee machine that also made every type of specialty hot drink including hot cocoa.
Getting up the next morning was absolute torture. I would have enjoyed a day relaxing in our sumptuous room and soaking in the commodious tub. The bath products were a real upgrade from the run of the mill (it’s time hotels of top calibre retire dreary L’Occitane products).
The only little thing someone might find a flaw with is the enclosure for the tub is a sliding door between the bath and the bedroom. It could prove a tiny bit awkward for those who are sharing on a business stay, for example
We were provided with bottles of water.
The few employees we dealt with were efficient and cheerful - even at 2:00am! We were permitted a bit of a late checkout before our lengthy drive to the very disappointing and outrageously overpriced Four Seasons Whistler which I will review separately. A quick shout out to Imperial Limousine service for providing an excellent transfer to Whistler from the Fairmont Vancouver. This hotel was such a standout I was actually hoping for a reason to stay again before our return back East (a weather delay???) Thank you Fairmont Vancouver Airport for a five star experience when least expected.

It was great to spend 6 hours getting refreshed in this very convenient hotel after a 16 hours of flight.
May be a 7 mins of walk from international arrivals and 2 mins from US depertures. Be aware that US departures are lengthy as the immigration is done in YVR airport itself. So give yourself sufficient time. It took us more than 45 mins to reach the Gate from the moment we stood on line to clear immigration/security.
The only downside if I may is the cost. $200 for 6 hours seems expensive !

Fell in love with the view of the airport gates where the planes and jets from the USA arrive/depart. Great view of the International Runway, mountains, sunrise and sunsets.
The sunsets are gorgeous and love the seat window setup at the window.
Wished they would wash the windows outside at-least once a month .
The room is 1007. highly recommend
*I found maintenance manager lacking to do his job inspecting the rooms.
He should be held accountable given a computer generated Preventive maintenance request done by "him/her only" to inspect all the rooms once every 3 months. * This task should not be given to a maintenance worker.
This hotel is a 5 Star, it should be treated as a 5 star in its upkeep. Thus why the Operation or "Maintenance Manager" needs to be proactive "hands-on" instead of passing out business cards.
The caulking around the tub needs replacing, doors needs minor touch ups , vent fins near the window need to be properly angled.
I work for the Health Authority in Maintenance overseeing 4 buildings.
I wouldn't say the room failed, just never overlooked at by the Fairmont Maintenance "Manager" since the day the Hotel open.
The Front desk service, the age of the building, upkeep from housekeeping are superior to all other hotels. 5 stars
The only thing lacking to the room , a iPad,to manage the room lights and automatic motorized curtains you'd find at the Fairmont Rim downtown Vancouver.
People pay for a level of service, most are much older nicely dressed clientele plus 50, that are not in great physique who need things to be simplified.
I found the Mattress more comfortable at the Marriott Renaissance Edmonton International Airport rm 801.
This YVR Fairmont hotel, The King mattress is ok/good 8.5 , tad stiff, somewhat acceptable but definitely not the Heavenly beds from Simmons Beautyrest Hotel quality.
*For those with bad backs, bed is acceptable, those with hip issues, the mattress could be a tad softer like the Westin
The Wifi is easily connected but found was easier to disconnect POE ethernet cordless phone and connect it on my travelling router for faster speed and better firewall . The wall ethernet for laptops outlet did not work.,
I would stay again and hope they offer Deluxe rooms with soaker tubs as a free upgrade when they are available for Loyalty Accord members.
I did not use the drink vouchers, we were too exhausted

Great room layout. Lovely view of Vancouver's north shore (albeit far away and $10 more). Also good view of airplanes moving 'round. Not noisy. Pricey but you pay for the luxury of the convenience. We took the skytrain downtown for dinner on our brief stop over and came back 'home' to the airport and a comfy bed. Brilliant. Make sure you don't buy the upgrade (food etc) if you are leaving super early cause it isn't open super early and you'll pay for virtually nothing. Staff did try to sell it to us, which we weren't impressed about as they knew how early we needed to leave. That's my only real beef. OH and watch they do credit you for your staff if you collect points. They didn't credit us!

This is by far the best option in Vancouver if you must stay at or near the airport. Very convenient when you arrive late or have an early out in the morning.
The lobby bar has a great vibe and the food is delicious, but our waitress was young and slow.
The fitness center has a lot of equipment, however, the pools leave much to be desired.
The front desk staff was very friendly and helpful. The concierge had no idea the Whistler Resort had closed due to the Coronavirus.
Very unfortunate that our spring break was cut short, but we were thankful to be at the airport and hadn’t made the long drive up to Whistler.
