I enjoyed our stay in this resort. Awesome room and wonderful mountain views. I would recommend this to anyone! Close to national park and public transportation is easy. This resort is pet-friendly and my furbaby had a wonderful stay too!

Im currently staying here and regretting my choice. My pet would of died if I didnt check the room! Yesterday after check in, my pet was exploring the room and I noticed she was super interested in something underneath the bedside table. I took a look and its a thumb size piece of chocolate bar!! Chocolate on the floor in a pet friendly room! Pet friendly room should be pet safe! So ridiculous!! I was too tired to go front desk yesterday after a long drive from Edmonton, so I stopped by at the front desk today to inform the receptionist about this concern and inform him how unsafe chocolate is to pet health! His response is okay, ill tell housekeeping or go to room to check it himself. Ive told him ive picked up the chocolate bar, threw it away, cleaned and checked the room to make sure its pet safe. The receptionist said No apologies, has no customer service. I told him this is pet friendly room, should not have chocolate on the floor! I repeatedly say this because Its a mistake with severe consequences! And his response was, what do you want me to do, you seem like youre attacking me. Again, bad response bad customer service! No apologies, no ensuring this concerns will be brought up to upper management and we ensure this wont happen again. My pet is also your guest, paid guest! Your pet friendly room should be pet safe! Your customer should relax and enjoy their stay, should not be doing cleaning work for your resort and then still pay full price to stay! Disappointed! y

Horrible, so disappointed! Forgot to return our park pass. They called us 2 hr later, said no worries, we could mail it back and that lots have forgot to return it. 5 min later they called back, said we’d be charged $150 regardless because the room was booked out for that same night. How does that change anything?? Clerk would not budge and did not care when I said we would not be returning because of this. This was our 3rd time staying there but I guess $150 is more important than satisfied returning customers. We won’t be back!

The accommodation itself is quite nice – one bedroom; one bathroom; desk; front closet; open concept kitchen, dining and living room. Dishes, silverware and glassware for four people. Some small appliances and microwave. Few sachets of coffee and tea. Three placemats. There is no safe for passports/valuables. Rooms need a good spring cleaning. Buckets of dust on lamps, tables, fireplace, etc. One wee shampoo, wee conditioner and wee shower gel provided in the bathroom. Small sample of dishwashing soap provided for dishwashing. On the website: *Please note, that each Coppertstone Resort unit is self-contained. Basic toiletries (soap, shampoo, toilet paper, dishwasher & laundry detergent) for the first night or two of a guest’s stay, will be supplied. Washer and dryer were in a closet and one load of soap and softener provided. We found the rooms to be very cold (especially after skiing) but you cannot increase the temperature over 20 degrees as there is a governor on the thermostat. You can turn on the fireplace (press the controls three times), but very little heat is emitted. They could have used radiant-heated floors. Getting to your room from the front desk can be long walk outside or around in the underground parking lot. Seems that some of the “resort” is rented out and the rest are privately owned. The front desk is only open from noon to 10 p.m. You have to call the third-party to get a response outside those times. Hot tub is always busy and monitored by the front desk. Dogs are permitted and if you have a room nearby you will be serenaded by whining and barking at all times of the day and night. There is no housekeeping so you need to go to the front desk, when open, and ask for coffee, shampoo, towels, etc. and take them yourself. At the end of your stay you must remove all of your garbage to the basement and start the dishwasher. The only parking available is underground and you can pay by the hour on an app or through your accommodation. No free parking is on the street and it is monitored and ticketed. Because there is no one on the premises to monitor noise, you must call a third-party security after eleven o’clock in the evening. At 1:30 at night there was someone vacuuming above us. And then there were children running around and screaming at all hours. Zack, who monitored the front desk, said there was nothing he could do for the noise above our room. The accommodation was owner-occupied and not part of the hotel. He “can’t tell them or make them be quiet”. Call security after hours. The kicker for this “Resort” is the extra added in addition to the choice of room. $98 for housekeeping; 10% for the third-party reservation; lodge tax; GST ~ $189.34. Payment in advance. Easy access on and off the highway but the lack of housekeeping and guests’ concerns plus extras are not to my liking and we will not return.

Hi Wanda - thank you for this detailed feedback. We're glad to hear that you found your suite to be well setup for stay overall! We also appreciate you pointing out the shortcomings that you noticed during your multiple stays here at Copperstone Resort. Watch out when you book this resort some of the units have no cancellation or changes. Unfortunately I didn't see that and I'm three weeks away and wanted to change one of the rooms from a bunk bed to a queen bed so my mom and spouse could come stay with me over the weekend. my kids couldn't make it as they have provincials in soccer that weekend. Air miles nor the owner will accommodate me or give me a refund so I can book something else literally in the same building.

Hi Apollo36 - thanks for your feedback. We are sorry to hear that you're frustrated by some of our booking policies. We would like to note that a small portion of units here at Copperstone Resort are run and managed directly by their owners. Although we're not sure what unit you originally booked, there is a chance that you're having trouble changing your reservation is due to their individual policy. Every effort is made to ensure guests are aware of the booking policies at the time of their reservation and we apologize for your frustration with this specific situation. Hopefully you're still able to visit the resort and enjoy all that it has to offer as far as relaxation, amenities, and location!

We stayed here for two nights with our two teens. The location was decent for skiing at Nakiska for a day. It's only about a half hour drive, and very easy to access from the highway. The underground parking was great. We didn't have any trouble finding a parking spot. We drive an F150 and didn't have any issues with underground parking. The room was really nice and the kitchen was pretty well stocked. Our room was comfortable, but the bed was really soft and bouncy. It made for a bit of a sleepless night. The hide-a-bed was fairly firm from what our kids said. There is a tv in each sleeping area too. The hotel was pretty quiet so we didn't have any issues with noise. Our unit had a washer/dryer, full size fridge, dishwasher, and microwave. The hot tub was great. We used it a couple of times. It was hot, clean, and not super busy. The max. is 10 guests in the hot tub. There was only one time that we reached the limit, but other guests left right away. Plenty of pressure and hot water in the shower. Everything was very clean in our unit. We even had extra beach towels for the hot tub. Overall, for the value, I would stay here again.

We stayed at Copperstone Resort for girls trip. The amenities were amazing and very clean rooms. Comfortable beds with very large washrooms. The only negative thing was the hot tub, we were trying to enjoy our experience and the resort has a rule only 10 ppl allowed. So we had waited and there was 10 of us. A family joined in a couple minutes after us and the front desk staff (Zack) came out and started being extremely rude slamming the door and told us to leave. We might of only got to enjoy the hot tub for 10 minutes and he had come out at least 5 times within that time. We decided to to leave to avoid the stress as we were trying to relax. Zack was extremely unprofessional. If you are going to have a rule like this you should be able to book a time to have the hot tub and for it to be private. We had spoke to 2 other groups there and they had said the same thing happened to them and that Zack was very rude to them as well. Everything was great except this almost ruined our time there. We booked this place because of the hot tub. Please think about creating a booking for the hot tub to avoid this happening to more groups trying to enjoy their trip.

Hi Sheree, thank you for your review and for staying at Copperstone for your recent girls trip! We are so glad that you enjoyed the resort overall, the comfortable and clean accommodations, and the excellent amenities. Your input regarding the hot tub is also appreciated. After receiving this feedback, we looked further into the situation and discovered that our team member was enforcing important hot tub rules, particularly the occupancy limit and ensuring no prohibited materials were present. For the safety of guests, it's imperative that we uphold those regulations. That being said, it is important to us that all guests experience friendly service throughout their stay and we will take your input to heart. Thanks again for sharing your thoughts - we hope you'll vacation with us again soon!

Absolutely loved everything about this resort! Outdoor hot tub, full kitchen with all the amenities, even a Ninja blender, which we used everyday! A package for our pup, beautiful surroundings, and very quiet! No construction as it was Christmas weekend! My only complaint is with the parking company who monitors the underground lot. Indigo! We had two vehicles and so had to pay a fee for our second one, which we were fine with, however, our family member who received the complimentary pass got a ticket! We spoke with the staff and they did what they could, which was a reduction in the ticket. Not okay as it is included in the fee for the resort. The parking company claims the pass wasn’t displayed properly! All they needed to do was call the resort to verify the pass! The pass was displayed and we showed that to the staff and Indigo parking with a photo! If Indigo does not cancel this ticket we will not return. If the resort can’t work with Indigo then this is not a good working relationship. You can’t get into the parking lot without a pass, so it’s ridiculous!

We were thrilled with our experience at Copperstone Resort in Dead Man's Flats!! I would definitely go back and stay again if in the area! What we LOVED: * large comfortable living area with full kitchen, dining, living-room with fireplace and deck ( Note: for those who are smokers, you are allowed to smoke on the deck. For those who aren't: I believe that is the only spot on property it is allowed.) *washer/dryer in unit (particularily great tor drying towels/ bathing suits) *fully stocked for cooking/eating (saves you lots of $ not having to eat out all the time!) *bathrooms come with all amenities of a good hotel *free underground parking * beautiful, spacious courtyard with bbq's, tables, firepit, and large enclosed hot tub * the grounds and building are very well maintained *pet friendly * fantastic front desk staff. Very professional, friendly and super helpful!! * Great value- you get alot of space/conveniences for the same/less than you'd pay for an average double queen hotel room in Canmore/ Banff. What SOME might take issue with: * there were "wet" marks on the carpet throughout the unit, obviously from pet accidents BUT there was no foul smell from them (I'm very sensitive to smell and would have noticed!) ALSO, they were not in central areas for the most part, mostly along hall/ stair perimeters and near deck door. Other than this, the unit was immaculate! * hot tub was closed temporarily on two occasions( for good reason so we were just understanding about it) * It is pet friendly...not everyone likes that, especially if dog owners are not courteous. We didn't have a problem with this on our stay:) * Construction of multi- unit structure going up right next door. I must say, I was glad we were not on that side. Unfortunately units on this side have best view of mountains and I expect they will lose that. *Front desk open more limited hours than in a standard "hotel" situation. Notes: *It is my understanding that these are privately owned units but rental of them is overseen by a single management. I booked through Expedia. *For those who have never been to this area before, vehicle passes are required once you enter Banff ( in case you are buying ahead of time, as I did.) This area and Canmore are not at that point so park passes are not needed until you enter park. I could have saved myself 3 days of payment if I had have realized. We only needed when we went to Banff one day and another day to Lake Louise. The rest of our outings were in Canmore (8 minutes away from Copperstone- seems less!) There is so much positive about this resort if you don't focus on really minor faults! E njoy!!
