We stayed here for 4 nights after our flight from the US. It was the perfect place to recover from jet lag and begin our NZ adventure. Perrine & Bryan are terrific hosts. They were up to meet us when we arrived at 6:10 am & let us move into the room & get settled. When we were ready, Brian... More

We decided to stay in Devonport rathr than Auckland itself for the 2 nights following our flight from UK and it was exactly the right decision! The Garden Room is perfect for recovering from such a long flight. It's completely self contained but within yards of the garden and home of our hosts, Perrine and Bryan. It was wonderfully quiet... We stayed here for 3 nights at the start of our honeymoon in November. We had chosen to stay in Devonport rather than central Auckland and I am so glad we did as the location was really restful after a long flight and you are only a short ferry ride to Auckland if you do want to get into the... We had left the west coast of Canada and its winter rains to seek the sunshine of New Zealand, so to have rain on all four days that we were in Devonport was a disappointment, but this was more than offset by our stay in this charming little cottage in a lovely garden and our warm, and helpful hostess, Perrine.... Has to be one of the best for traditional, colonial style in the perfect location. June is a wonderful hostess, everything was perfect from our delicious breakfasts to our large cosy room, making our stay relaxing and homely. We particularly appreciated the wonderful welcome we received from June and, of course, Stanley! Devonport is an ideal place to stay with... More

We had a 3 night stay here whilst staying in Devonport for the wine and food festival. The accommodation is a 15 minute walk from the ferry terminal and a minute walk away from Cheltenham beach. The accomodation itself is great, very comfortable bed and great facilities. Fantastic breakfast was left for us - with freshly baked bread and tomatoes... More

What a great place to stay on our trip to Auckland. The Garden Room is a self contained studio at the rear of the owners property (who also do b&b), completely private, with a lovely garden, very peaceful yet close to all the activities in the city centre. The hosts were very attentive but not at all intrusive, and their... More
