Dar L'eau Vive is in a beautiful location and is an incredibly peaceful location. I've visited twice now, once in March 2022, and again in January 2023. The room comes with dinner and breakfast served outside on a veranda with an amazing view of the reservoir. I will say that it was a bit cold in January to be eating outside but the food remains exceptional. We did experience an issue with hot water in our room because the staff had apparently forgotten to turn on the feed to our rooms. We noted that with them and they corrected the problem and apologized. In March there was no issue but the weather was also milder and there were more guests...this time we were almost the only ones.

A super warm welcome, a very friendly and helpful staff at all times, a truly beautiful place where everyone would like to spend at least 2 nights. The decoration is simply sublime, the rooms are too clean, the dinner and the breakfast were a true delight especially since it is in the middle of the greenery of the mountains. I recommend this corner to anyone inspired by nature, relaxation and contemplation, wishing to be isolated from the world and more particularly with someone like Abderahman, Salah and the staff. Personally, I will be sure to come back to it whenever time permits. I recommend to everyone who's willing to discover the real image of moroccan hospitality. Trust me, it will be the best thing u ve ever experienced especially if u like to be into the middle of nowhere carrying a book, listening to whispers of trees and birds and enjoying a nice suntan next to the pool

My time at Dar l'Eau Vive was thoroughly disappointing due to the poor owner and management. The owner's evident disinterest in maintaining a high standard of service translated to a lackluster experience for guests. The management seemed disorganized and unresponsive, leaving me feeling unheard and frustrated when trying to address concerns. It's evident that their focus on the bottom line comes at the expense of guest satisfaction. I would strongly caution anyone against choosing this establishment for their stay, as it's clear that the owner and management are not invested in providing a positive and enjoyable experience.

I had pretty high expectations from this place as it had been recommended to me many times before. Saying I was disappointed is an understatement! The place is actually quite nice and has a great view, but the management is terrible and gives the whole experience a bitter taste. The manager (Younes) messed up our reservation details (room types, number, and price). Instead of owning up to his mistake, he turned the situation against us, insisting that it was our bad, and did not offer us any option other than overcharging us for different rooms which in no way shape or form were better than the ones we'd originally agreed on. All of this was managed poorly over the phone. The worst part was that there was repair work being done (yes, on a weekend!) so there was constant hammering sounds and annoying machinery noise when the whole point of the stay was to relax and get away from the city noise. All in all, we ended up paying more for barely okay rooms, noisy environment, stressful welcoming and poor service.

We booked a simple but nice room, got "upgraded" to a family bungalow which was substandard, even for Morocco. Yes we should have refused, but were too polite. Dinner was tasty but unfortunately they puted 130 tourist agents in the restaurant that night.
AC didnt work, warmwater took a while, ok in fairness he mentioned that. Nevertheless well overpriced as it is the only opportunity to stay.
Btw the "beautiful" lake with its many walks as it is described in our loney planet guide is almost empty (6%) acc to hotelstaff. A sad reminder of overusage and yearlong draught.

With friends, we had an excellent evening there. Everything was delicious, the place completely exotic, authentic & charming. The staff were full of little attentions towards us. We will definitely go back if the opportunity arises :-)

Mid-way through our 16 day tour of Morocco we stopped for 3 days of R&R at Dar L-eau Vive. It was the perfect time and the perfect place. Laid-back atmosphere with something for everyone. During our stay there were couples, families and a group of 20 young people who were using it as a base for rafting.
The food was fresh, elegant and simply delicious. The staff was warm, friendly and enjoyed interacting with guests. We even learned a few word in Berber ! Really we couldn't have asked for more. Thank you all!
