Immaculate modern annex to nearby restaurant. Peculiar shape hence title. We had the corner top room which has a flying corner bay-window overlooking La Rioja plain. "Singular" room decor a la Lawrence L Bowen but that added to the unique feel of the place and actually is a plus. Restaurant only does breakfast (located in delightful vaulted cellar) and lunches...

It was getting rather late in the afternoon after exploring the beautiful little villages in the area and we were thrilled to stumble upon the lovely restaurant at Los Calaos. The roast lamb was one of the best meals of our trip. Highly recommend!

Briones is a good place from which to explore La Rioja and the Hotel Los Calaos offered us a comfortable base. The lounge is a good space for a quiet drink or a picnic. All in all a very comfortable stay and good value.

Found this hotel in the Spain Lonely Planet and booked it. Got there mid afternoon and were sent to their secondary building just down the road from the restaurant. So amazed at the quality of the accommodation for the price. Beautifully decorated rooms. Sitting room below with a fabulous coffee machine, computers, TV. Restaurant in the main building looked great,...

We chose this property because it was close to the Vivanco Winery in Briones - and we were right to do so! The apartment was very easy to find (with a GPS), close to the main road and to the winery, plenty of parking space on the street, quiet small village (although there were fiestas in town during our stay)....

I stayed here in August 2014 with my 3 children. We had a lovely large room which was perfect for us and very good value as well. We also had dinner and breakfast in the restaurant, which was delicious. My pudding (an orange sorbet with dark chocolate sauce) was the nicest pudding I have had for ages! The staff were...

Lovely cellars in the hostal make for a great setting for some great food. I wouldnt say inexpensive but not over the top for lovely presentation service and atmosphere. Briones has a lot going for it and this restaurant just made it even better.

Briones is a very beautiful small village with one of the most amazing historic central places ever seen. From Briones and the hotel you have a stunning view on the Rioja area, the mountains and all the cultural landscape around. Our room was very lovely and passionately decorated. The service is very friendly. Dinner was very good, it is in...

Best restaurant in the area, from what folks said. Complete menu. We had began with a salad with shrimp and Iberian ham. We also ordered some baby lamb kidneys with a nice garlic sauce. Tasty. I had a nicely done steak. Nicely prepared but not the aged beef you usually find in the asadores (steak houses) in the north of...
