This hotel is on a private island 30 Kim’s off the south coast of Cambodia. It is set up in a Maldivian style and although it doesn’t quite have the cache of the Maldives, it is a really great location. Very helpful and attentive staff with beautiful rooms. There were plenty of activities, including sailing, kayaking and snorkling. A different dining experience every night kept things interesting each night.
This place is like paradise. We stayed in an overwater villa and it was fabulous with excellent amenities. What we loved most about Song Saa is how easy they make it and that there are no hidden extras. Want food in your villa? Absolutely fine. Order lunch at your sunbed and they will set up a table for you. The drinks choices were vast and the amount of drinks in your inclusive mini bar was generous. The food was excellent and every night there was a different theme in a different location so we didn’t get bored. We stayed for 4 nights and if we had time I would have loved to stay for longer. We weren’t disappointed, it was the perfect peaceful and beautiful location. Highly recommend.
Song Saa is a magical place and the perfect spot to relax - particularly in the middle of a busy holiday in the region. The accommodation is lovely and the for is delicious. They also go to great lengths to enable everyone to experience different places to dine within the island - a really nice touch., Importantly the work of the The Foundation is fascinating to learn about and explore with the enthusiastic and committed staff. Donald the GM and his team have a created a very special experience which we highly recommend.
Everything on the island was look great at the beginning to the end. Unexpected services providing during accommodation. The staffs need to be ready on establishment for their performance. And one weird question from us, what else can the top management achieve that look better than free of charge whenever we had a complaint or other people else, they'd also raised their complaint. We feel akwarded to experiencing it. We felt this totally wasted of resources.
Had 5 nights in the month of November 2022. Resort definitely needs some renovations. Staff are more than friendly but lacking direction from management. At times we had to look for service at the pool and were told on arrival that the ratio of staff to guests in 4 to 1. The food was outstanding. The resort could be a 10/10 with some genuine management.
Amazing and unforgettable experience! There are so many details which make the stay at Song Saa unique and created for us an atmosphere which is not comparable to any other location which we visited before. It starts with the island by itself, the place is in a perfect balance. It is not simply luxury, it is the setup. Silence, taste and an atmosphere which creates relaxation in the minute we arrived. The complete staff is giving you the impression that all is made for you. The food is just excellent, healthy and tasty. The bar on the water with a 360 degree seaview is day and nighttime a massage for your soul, with no disturbances. For exercise we had a fantastic diving trip and saw a great underwater environment. Key during the whole stay is that you feel the passion and family spirit and Song Saa is making you part of it. Look to the website of Song Saa to understand also the approach of sustainability from the private owner! This is the way how to create such a place! You cannot see it or touch the luxury, you have to feel it! Barefoot in the sand……
This island is perfect in every way! We had a wonderful few days in the middle of our Asian tour and the setting, staff and food were exquisite. Treat yourself and book to go here you will not be disappointed. Also the work they do for the local area is a real testimony to the culture they are instilling in all of their wonderful staff. Will definitely be back one day!!
We were fortunate enough to visit Song Saa earlier this month, staying for 5 nights on an All-Inclusive basis. It is true to say that all of our expectations were met, if not exceeded, and we return to the UK knowing how lucky we are to have had the opportunity to experience all that makes Song Saa so special. We have ticked a huge ‘wish list’ box by visiting this magical island. Firstly our room, we deliberately chose an Ocean View villa and were glad we did so. Large and tastefully decorated, the room catered for all of our needs. The room was comfortable, well lit, very private and let’s not forget a generous minibar that was regularly restocked (contents included: tea, coffee, still/sparkling water, a range of sodas, beer, a bottle of red and white wine, a bottle of prosecco and a dangerously moreish box of cookies and also peanuts/cashew nuts. Actually, let’s face it, it was all dangerous!) On our all-inclusive rate, we were very pleased with the food and beverage choice. The menus at all restaurants make it very clear what is included and what is not. We were very happy with, what we felt, was a very generous all-inc drinks selection: 5 white wines, 5 red, 1 rose, prosecco and a rose prosecco. Plenty of spirit options and cocktails too. When the worst news you hear is that a specific wine is out of stock, you know it has been a pretty good day! Food is available - should you want it – around the clock with breakfast at Vista served until 11.30am (island time – an hour ahead of the mainland) which means that there is plenty of time for an early morning swim or snorkel. More great food awaits at Driftwood, we feel we made a pretty good effort with their pizza menu and would highly recommend. Evening destination dining is very much a signature of Song Saa with dining areas carouselling around different locations: Vista restaurant, Driftwood, the pool and the beach. However, you are not committed to these and can choose to dine where you wish (there’s also the choice of eating ‘in villa’ too). Beyond eating and drinking you MIGHT also find the time to do something! We absolutely loved the pool which we seemed to have to ourselves most of the time. Photos don’t do this justice as the pool is longer than you may think – just shy of 30m I would say. Morning swims are a delight as you can watch the sun rise while you get in your laps (and consider what you will have for breakfast!). The water sports team are permanently on hand and the free equipment that is loaned out (including snorkels and fins) is of high quality, you certainly don’t need to take your own. Being on this island puts you in a bubble of luxury so we really would recommend visiting the Song Saa Foundation which will help you understand and appreciate all the important work being carried out in the area. We spent 2 hours with the Song Saa Foudation team, visiting the local community and learning more about the support being put in place. Finally, at the heart of Song Saa and all it does are the staff. It would be very unfair to name check specific team members as every individual goes out of their way to make your stay memorable. Yes, of course, somethings do get lost in translation but, as always, a smile goes a long way and - just sometimes – a little patience. It was a pleasure to meet the whole team who truly made our stay unforgettable. We are true to our word and have promised wonderful manager Tommy that we are happy to return (and we won’t charge) if he needs us to offer any further customer feedback. Tommy we’re still waiting for the call….. ;-) Our best wishes to you all, Celia and David…
From the moment you step off the boat till the moment you leave you are pampered and spoilt beyond your imagination. Donald, Tommy and the team make your stay so special we had tears in our eyes when leaving. Covid has been kind to the Island and apart from a bit of TLC it was magical. Thank you for a special time in our lives.
Reservation is usually the first point of contact with the customer and sadly it wasn’t expected of an well-acclaimed resort. Vandy was most helpful and accommodating but the system and processes are not helping. The number of forms to be filled is bewildering. Understand the covid situation has contributed to it but the processes can be improved. Why not do it online like in check-in using a QR code? The staff are friendly and helpful without being intrusive but could be better trained. Ordered a mocha and was given a macchiato was one such examples. State of the resort could also be improved. The planks on the walkways are uneven. God forbids should someone get tripped over walking over them especially in the night when the place is not brightly lighted. The steps leading to the sea in the water villa are full of barnacles. Yet another accident waiting to happen. Overall a very pleasant and relaxing resort but always room for improvement. It was a pleasure to have experienced such a rare environment.…
