Dear lovely Team , dear Bongs,

its difficult to wrap it in words how peaceful and blissful this stay with you was … Samu Arkoun Bong for every special moment you created, every smile you gave us and your lovely support everyday to entertain our little one on „ his pirate Island“!

The entire island is a highlight itself regarding location, staff and option you can choose to do on a daily base . If you have something in mind to do what doesn’t exist at the moment like trip combinations for example, it will be never a problem at all, as everything is possible!

We did a wonderful trip to 5 Mile Beach.. wonderful and so worth to see.
And a combined trip , taylormade , Longtail Boat to the local village-> Kayak from that village towards a river through the mangroves, ending up on a jungle hike towards lonely beach, followed by the best snorkeling adventure we ever did to Coral Island. This ecofriendly resort tries everything to protect the environment and you can clearly see they do so well!!! The corals, fish varieties and the colorful underwater life took us to a diving trip the next day!
How unique!!! You cannot compare it to Maledives, Belize or Egypt… we have been speechless how amazing and colourful the reefs are! A MUST DO !

Beside these facts people are always making a difference and here we found our Song Saa Family!
Everybody was so warmhearted , lovely and unique everyday from the bottom of their heart!
Therefore I want to say a big „thank you to“ :

Yily our private „ don’t worry-everything is possible“ lovely shining star 🌟

The Driftwood Team:
Chrom, Thavy the bubbly , sheerful sweetheart, Thungia , Kimchean and Rochara!!!

The Vista Team for Breakfast:
Sorya, Piseth and Sala Bai intern students

The watersports team: Thanks for the opportunity to enjoy these special excursions with you!

and of course everybody behind the scenes involved!

Tommy , thanks for having us and the wonderful team!

Regarding the fantastic food , there is no word needed beside: FANTASTIC!

There are different menus in every Restaurant and again if you feel like to have something different-> everything is possible!! The staff came every day at lunch to us , explaining us where they picked another dining spot for us on that day with khmer kitchen family style or a la carte plus „ the everything is possible to order“ option.

After day 2 the Vista Breakfast team prepared already the coffees and juices and everything already without asking because they knew us 🙏 Outstanding , thoughtful and so sweet!

Beside everything I mentioned, there is an option to ask for babysitting services , what was really worth to do as our little son liked to play in the little playhouse and liked the sweet lady a lot !

Everything is possible and worth a visit !

We spent four days on this private island off the southern coast of Cambodia. Privacy is the key term for understanding this experience. While the accommodations are luxurious (with a large private plunge pool, indoor and outdoor showers, and a giant soaking tub), it is important to keep in mind the remote location when considering what “luxury” means. The resort is in the middle of a jungle, and 45 minutes by speedboat away from the nearest major city. They have done an excellent job creating luxury while also remaining conscious of the local ecosystem and the nature preserve in which the island sits. Sometimes this means you wake up to find a gecko in your villa. Personally, we thought this was a bonus (we named ours Gary), but your mileage may differ. The iconic pictures of the island show the aerial view of the “over the water” villas that jut out on stilts from the main island. These all have decks and stairs that allow you to enter the water right from your villa’s backdoor. That being said, they are very close together and anyone boating or kayaking nearby can see straight into the villa. We chose to stay in a jungle villa with an ocean view that was much more secluded and private, while still offering easy access to the ocean (right down the hill). The jungle villas are up a pretty steep hill, so that’s something to keep in mind, although you can always ask for a ride down the mountain if the walk is too much. The staff was excellent and extremely responsive to our needs and requests. I am a vegetarian, while my husband is not, and the restaurant staff accommodated both of our preferences at every meal. The goal of this resort is to provide you with a private personalized experience. While there are some small group activities each day, the staff will arrange private excursions for you as well. We chose the “accommodation and breakfast” option rather than the “all-inclusive” option, and are glad we did so. We are not big drinkers or eaters, so the all-inclusive option was not worth the price from our perspective. It is also good to keep in mind that you are vacationing on a small island, so you are somewhat at the mercy of the weather. Most of the activities are designed around water sports or involve boat rides, so if the weather is not cooperating (as it didn’t for part of our trip), a lot of these activities are not doable, so it’s best to consider this a relaxing vacation with the activities as a bonus if the weather permits. That being said, I took advantage of an absolutely beautiful moonless night to go swimming with bioluminescent plankton, and it was one of the highlights of my (rather extensive) traveling experience. We also slapped on some anti-sea-sickness patches before the speedboat ride to and from the island and were very glad we did. The water can be a bit rough, although the boat captain was excellent, and we felt completely safe in his highly competent hands. This resort delivers on the unique, private luxury experience it advertises.

Dear Kirstina, Thank you so much for taking the time to share your thoughtful and detailed review. We’re thrilled that you enjoyed your stay with us and that you found the unique blend of privacy, luxury, and our commitment to the environment so special. It sounds like you truly embraced the spirit of island living—naming Gary the gecko made us smile! We’re especially happy to hear how much you enjoyed swimming with the bioluminescent plankton—it truly is a magical experience, and glad it became one of the highlights of your trip. Thank you for your kind words about our team and for sharing how we strive to make each guest's experience personal and memorable. We hope to welcome you back to Song Saa in the future for another relaxing escape (and maybe a visit with more friendly geckos). Warm regards, Tommy Resort Manager

After exploring Cambodias treasures Song Saa island was the resting point before heading back home. The resort is beautiful, villas spacious and luxurious. Fresh and tasty food mostly emphasised on local cuisine. There's many activities to do, but for us the highlight was seeing bioluminescent plankton, it's simply magical. The staff were very friendly, helpful and attentive. I must mention the beautiful work of Song Saa Foundation that is serving the local communities and environment in the area, you can witness and explore their achievements and also contribute.

Dear IngridaM4 Thank you for your kind words and for choosing Song Saa as your final stop after exploring Cambodia! We’re so glad you found the island a beautiful and relaxing retreat before heading home. The bioluminescent plankton is such a mesmerizing sight, isn’t it? It’s one of those magical experiences that stays with you. It’s also wonderful to hear that you enjoyed the local flavors in our cuisine and felt connected to the work of the Song Saa Foundation. The ocean view villas were spectacular. Beautiful views everywhere all over the island. Service was awesome and the different dinner destinations was a very different and nice experience. The food was mediocre at best for the caliber of resort. Dinners were better and breakfast was ok but lunch was awful. Everything you ordered from a soda to a drinks you were brought a bill to sign. It was very annoying. You were on an island you could not leave unless you left on their boat so I don’t understand why they couldn’t wait until the end to give you the final bill.
With how much it cost to stay there I can’t believe they charged me $15 for a pair of two dollar flip-flops when mine broke!!! You couldn’t go in the beach, it was full of rocks and sea urchins. You had to stay in the overwater villas to jump in the water one of their ridiculously expensive
Excursions. Been too many places like this other parts of the world and never again! There were even ripped chairs!!!

Dear Freedom63867567724, Thank you so much for sharing your experience on this platform. We're a little surprised by your rating as you gave us four stars and your opening comments were very positive about your Villa and Views. I recall meeting you during your first evening at our restaurant, where you told our General Manager and I about the Pad Thai you had for lunch, which was not what you expected as it contained grilled tofu cubes that were not mentioned in the menu. As I indicated during our conversation, we much appreciated this feedback and immediately adjusted the menus based on your advice. Except for this one meal, we felt everything else went well, as our F&B manager checked in with you and your husband on a regular basis to ensure you were enjoying our offerings. Signing the bill after consumption is a typical procedure in most hotels and resorts to avoid misunderstandings when we present your bill at the end of your stay. This also means that any minor errors, can be corrected at the same time, avoiding delays during the check-out procedure. Regarding the Flip Flops you purchased from our Island Boutique, our Guest Experience team provided you with a price before you agreed to buy them however, they were not aware you intended on receiving them complimentary. As a gesture of good will prior to your arrival, we took the liberty of upgrading your Villa from a Jungle category to an Ocean View category, where you enjoyed expansive views out to sea. There is no direct access to the beach when staying in this category due to a protective sea wall to guard against erosion. As we are an Island, our main beach conditions change regularly based on tidal levels. This change in tide will wash up small rocks to our shoreline. All non-motorized activities, including daily yoga, are free of charge; we are happy to arrange motorized activities or other excursions for you to enjoy however, these are charged due to fuel costs and post-Covid our supply chain has also increased. Regarding the ripped chairs, as we are isolated, we have a maintenance program in place to send our chairs every 1 – 2 months back to our Supplier on the Mainland for recovering and this process is subject to our occupancy. Typically, we are sending 10 chairs per cycle for recovering. It is with regret that you and your husband did not have a perfect stay, however we hope you still have fond memories of your Ocean View Villa with expansive sea views and the service offered by our staff. With best regards, Tommy (Resort Manager)

Phenomenal experience at Song Saa. Below are just some of the highlights

1) maximal privacy and amazing supporting staffs: the guests get a host who responds almost immediately by WhatsApp for any requests and questions. Special thanks to Sokrith for always providing what we needed

2) many activities options: we chose the 5 mile picnic and the bioluminescence night tour. Both were well worth the extra costs. The 5 mile picnic includes going to a beach with the softest sand. The bioluminescent night was imply magical, without providing spoilers, but does depend on good weather.

3) Food: the chef is simply amazing, we did the all inclusive option and can honestly say all meals were above expectation

4) Attention to small details: staffs that will provide light for you and escort you back to your room, little letters telling you where dinner is are just some of many examples

Would recommend highly for a romantic experience!

Everything was awesome on this small (24(?) villa resort- the staff are so friendly and accommodating, the food excellent and the villas beautiful! This was a great place to unwind after touring Vietnam and Siem Reap. We did the nighttime bioluminescence snorkeling and it far far exceeded our expectations! It was literally magical to simply move and create these sparkling fireworks!! One of the best experiences we’ve ever had!

We wanted to scuba but two windy days made the visibility poor and we really appreciate the scuba lead encouraging us not to dive-it wouldn’t have been worth it; we are so happy he was honest and ethical!!

Two nights with outstanding “destination dining”events-one curry and one for Chinese new year- a LOT of food; we shared “one portion” and didn’t come close to finishing!

Spa massages were great, so much so we repeated the next day! Daily morning yoga was fantastic; we did it each morning- strongly recommend!!

This place is like paradise. We stayed in an overwater villa and it was fabulous with excellent amenities. What we loved most about Song Saa is how easy they make it and that there are no hidden extras. Want food in your villa? Absolutely fine. Order lunch at your sunbed and they will set up a table for you. The drinks choices were vast and the amount of drinks in your inclusive mini bar was generous.
The food was excellent and every night there was a different theme in a different location so we didn’t get bored. We stayed for 4 nights and if we had time I would have loved to stay for longer. We weren’t disappointed, it was the perfect peaceful and beautiful location. Highly recommend.

Five wonderful nights each of which started with a small scroll telling us what the night would entail, then cocktail with a delightful sea sunset view and a different meal experience and then our wonderful hostess Kunthea popping up to find out if there were any twists for the next day we wanted ( cannot thank you enough for the epic flambéed banana !)
Rare to find luxury and charm combined so well with true privacy in our ocean view villa ( even the house keeping came early to give us the rest of the day to ourselves).
Loved our nightly treasure boxes to come back to.
The house reef was larger and more varied than we imagined and the equipment you borrow excellent. We changed that up with the main pool ( also had its secret nooks) and did our own nature walks to the attached island, where sitting on the large rocks by the shore together we watched diving birds and simply dreamt. We were blessed with wonderful sunshine and a variable breeze ( a couple of windier days).
If I had the ability to thrash out a novel this would be the perfect place to do it and one which we plan to return to as we have never felt so calm and content.
Thank you to the amazingly warm staff team with your genuine kindness and we could happily have stayed longer.

Amazing and unforgettable experience!

There are so many details which make the stay at Song Saa unique and created for us an atmosphere which is not comparable to any other location which we visited before.
It starts with the island by itself, the place is in a perfect balance. It is not simply luxury, it is the setup. Silence, taste and an atmosphere which creates relaxation in the minute we arrived.
The complete staff is giving you the impression that all is made for you.
The food is just excellent, healthy and tasty. The bar on the water with a 360 degree seaview is day and nighttime a massage for your soul, with no disturbances.
For exercise we had a fantastic diving trip and saw a great underwater environment.
Key during the whole stay is that you feel the passion and family spirit and Song Saa is making you part of it.
Look to the website of Song Saa to understand also the approach of sustainability from the private owner! This is the way how to create such a place!
You cannot see it or touch the luxury, you have to feel it! Barefoot in the sand…

We will always have magical memories of Song Saa. We travelled as a family with our two kids aged 13 and 15. This place is a tiny, beautiful island paradise. The staff do everything they can to make your stay comfortable, relaxing and enjoyable, with attention to tiny details, which we loved.

Our only comments would be that after paying a fully inclusive rate, it seemed petty to be told that you could only hand in 3 items of laundry a day, and no-one seemed to know if we were entitled to a 15 minute or 30 minute "free massage". As there are also half board clients at Song Saa, we were also given menus which state prices (which are pretty high) so we were in a constant state of stress about whether what we were ordering or drinking was included in our package or not. This unfortunately detracted from the overall relaxing environment, especially as we had just come from Shinta Mani Wild where absolutely everything is included. As there are few guests there, and the staff are very well trained, maybe they should know who is on a package and simply hand them a different menu? Some of the prices in the Spa seemed off the charts expensive to me as well.

Despite this, we loved this place - the staff were great, our room was totally beautiful and our favourite thing was just jumping off the steps of our villa into the ocean. Heaven!

Hi David, it is possible to snorkel from our private beach, infact, we have a house reef near our restaurant Vista where you can see a myriad of fish and a family of barracuda who live there. The clarity of the water depends on what time of the year you visit as this largely affects the clarity of the water. I hope that helps. Best, Donald Wong General Manager.

Dear prospective guest, apologies for the delayed response... I missed your request due to travel. Thats a great question and it really depends on the tides... at the most shallow it can be one meter (approx) and at it's deepest/season at high tide around 5 meters. We also have a selection of experiences to add on to your stay should you wish and can be shared or private experiences.
