The Old Presbytery stands in lovely grounds and is full of character. The rooms are comfortable and have everything you could need from kettle to hairdryer, and the breakfast is excellent. It is also very handy for visiting York, and the East Coast as well as having easy access to the A1 while retaining its peaceful environment.

Has to be the best place I have stayed, so friendly, welcoming and cannot do enough for, the breakfast is to die for, wish this place was closer to my home but a weekend away is definitely on, I cannot recommend this place higher, book now or you won't get in, plus the history on the building is so interesting... Stayed here one night for Airshow - what a find. A beautiful building, lovely hosts, lovely room. Its on a main road but set well back in its own grounds. Cant fault it and will definitely stay again if in the area.

We stayed here just overnight and were impressed with it all. A charming old place lovingly run by friendly people who made us welcome into their homely accommodation. The breakfast, which was our only meal other than being met the previous evening with tea and home made cake, was well cooked and satisfying -,a recommended place.

Myself and two friends stayed overnight after a nearby wedding and I just wanted to leave a quick review to say how lovely it was, and just how accommodating Chris & Christine are! From the word go they were extremely helpful, being the photographer for the wedding we needed to check in much earlier than we were supposed to, which... More

Just what I needed, quiet, comfortable bed (with an electric blanket, had I needed it), hospitality tray which included bottled water, biscuits, hot chocolate, decaffeinated coffee, Earl Grey and camomile tea. Marvellous. The grounds are lovely and that really makes a difference even if you don't have time to explore them properly. The private bathroom had a huge bath and... More

We have arrived back from a 4 night break and what a lovely time we had. Chris and Christine welcomed us into their beautiful B & B where the roaring fire was glowing in the lounge area. Our family room was cosy and thankfully had plenty of teabags! Bottled water and biscuits were enjoyed by us too. Shower always had... More

On arrival I was admired the gardens with the pond, pergola with table and chairs, old fashioned farming machinery, pretty bushes and a lamp lit footpath leading up to the house. Before I got to the door I was greeted by Christine whom offered me tea or coffee, asked me if I would like the WiFi code, recommneded some local... More
