We've been trying for several years to get to stay or eat at the Griffin but on each occasion they've been full or it hasn't worked out. Finally we made it! Three of us had a simple (one course) meal which was superb. Lovely atmosphere, friendly service, steak to die for and an excellent bottle of wine. Not cheap but... More

Great place - good parking, nicely received - lovely menu and not condescending when we asked for an explanation (thanks!!). The atmosphere was friendly and inviting. Food delivered promptly - nice and hot and looked good - it tasted good. Well pleased

We ate dinner here, it was a first class gourmet masterpiece! Everything was cooked to perfection and the dessert was the best I've ever had, I felt like it could have appeared on Masterchef! Mmmmmmmmmmmm

Having previously stayed at the Gurnard's Head we knew pretty much what to expect and we weren't disappointed. Excellent food, comfy rooms, and friendly and attentive staff. However, if peace and quiet is what you're after, be warned. The busy A470 is a constant presence in the background and sitting outside was ruined by the traffic noise. Perhaps the owners... More

We stayed for two nights with friends for some walking. The rooms are very clean and comfortable if a little on the small side. There is no tv in the room only a radio. There is no wifi or telephone reception anywhere in the building which nowadays is scarey!!!! The food in the restaurant for dinner is excellent and breakfast... More

Eat, Drink, Stay is their motto, (I think they should add 'wag your tail') and we did them all. This is an amazing pub for food which we have visited on our own and with friends for lunch a few times now. We had yet to stay, so it was a great surprise when Mrs Pearls organised a surprise weekend... More

An airy bedroom and bathroom, television only on request but a digital radio, comfy, squashy couches near the hearth, excellent food and drink and a heart-warming welcome. Welsh rarebit for breakfast? Tea and Welsh cakes when you return in the late afternoon? A martini variation - Madame Martinez - before dinner? A loaf of bread to take away with you?... More

good quality food, nice people, not as expensive as it would be over the border in England, good value for the quality more restaurant than pub; imaginative cooking, nice pubby lounge area for pre-meal drinks it seems to get featured a lot in travel magazines and guide-books; to provide some moderation I would say there are other equally good restaurants... We had a family celebration which involved the two of us taking a Sunday Stayover and having the whole family to lunch the following day. We had a superb time, great food, wine and accommodation and the staff were superb.
