We had a family celebration which involved the two of us taking a Sunday Stayover and having the whole family to lunch the following day. We had a superb time, great food, wine and accommodation and the staff were superb.

I find some of the reviews for this place on here bizarre. is it really 'the best restaurant in Wales'? No of course not. What it is, is a typical gastropub based on the usual model: quirky furniture, small bedrooms and signage to keep us all amused. It is clean and serves good beer but £140/ night B&B in this... More

A gem of a place in beautiful Brecon. Everything about this place is excellent. From the comfortable bedroom to the welcoming, friendly attentive staff and delicious indulgent food and drink. Whatever your reason you need to visit this place and when you do make sure you take the time to experience everything it has to offer and take advice from... More

Let's be honest, the UK isn't really famous for its exquisite cuisine. So we were very pleasantly surprised by the The Felin Fach Griffin. This is a cosy and very cute restaurant within the Brecon Beacons National Park. Food was delicious and carefully prepared. Staff was friendly and helpful! To be clear, we didn't stay in the hotel, we only... More

A really lovely atmosphere and welcome to this restaurant. We had reserved a table and it was all as expected. Offered nibbles to start with - chunky bread and stale crisps with dips...really not necessary and not particularly tasty...could've done without. Starters a little disappointed. I had pork fried in a breadcrumbs - but just seemed to be fat inside... More

We booked dinner, bed and breakfast. From beginning to end a lovely experience. The staff were exceedingly attentive and welcoming. The food in the restaurant was fresh, beautifully cooked and well thought out. The staff were knowledgeable about all their products. I was impressed with the fact that a lot of their produce was from their own garden, otherwise as... More

Although the reviews on trip advisor were good I did not expect the food to be as good as it was. The exterior of the pub could be much tidier and I am not sure that the burnt orange paint work on the walls enhance its appearance as much as it could. They could also add small vases of flowers... charming rooms slightly shabby chic and very comfortable bed. We arrived soaked on motorbikes and all our gear was quickly whisked away to dry off in the boiler room whilst we settled down in the pub lounge for warming tea and cake(free) quickly followed by some excellent choices of ale. There is a great atmosphere in the pub with the... More

Lovely little gastro pub with superb atmosphere and fantastic local, warm feel. Menu was quite fussy for a pub, a bit confused maybe. But on the whole the food was pretty good. We did however have our children with us and although they were welcomed with high chairs plastic plates and kids cutlery, this place really is not for kids.... More

Thank you for your thoughts. Not sure when you ate with us but we always have two children's menus (one for toddlers and one for slightly older children) for every service except Sunday lunch when most of our guests are very happy for their children eat smaller portions of our roasts. And we're happy for children to eat in the... More

There was a really lovely children's menu, ours had the slightly larger portions of meatballs but next time we'd order the smaller one, classed as for 'toddlers' as portions were generous. They were delighted with their own separate pot of Parmesan. A lovely varied menu selection and fabulous sides. Soda bread and cheese puffs compliments of the chef, plus iced... More

Delighted you had a good time with us. Thank you for your thoughts on children's menus (see review above) which seem to chime with the open welcome for families that we try to deliver. More
