We stayed at this fabulous hotel at the end of a one week vacation in the Peruvian Jungle. It took us almost two hours by car from Tarapoto city since there are only dirt roads once you leave the actual city. It had also rained quite a bit the previews days and the roads were partially blocked by fallen rocks as well. Our family of five stayed in one of the newly renovated two story bungalows and we were impressed. The pictures we saw on TA don’t do it justice. The hotel was a bit more Expensive than other hotels facing the Blue lagoon but it was totally worth it. There was a bathroom on each floor and the king size bed on the second floor was way bigger than a regular king size bed. Breakfast is included and so are the kayaks! Take advantage of them! We enjoyed the breakfast very much and it kept us full until dinner time since they offered things like fried rice, meat and tamales, in addition to eggs, breads, fruit and yogurt. My kids enjoyed the small children’s playground, the elastic bed and ping pong table. Additionally, you can rent jet skies for 150 soles a half hour, boats, Paddle boards, and go horse back riding around town. They offer other tours as well. The grounds are impeccably maintained with plenty of photo spots. The cleaning crew is fantastic. They went as far as cleaning our flip flops which were covered with mud after a tour of the volcanic thermal pools. What a nice surprise that was! We had a gorgeous view of the lake but not all rooms face the lake, some face the pool which was also really nice but I’d definitely recommend choosing the view of the Blue Lagoon. There is a nice furnished balcony on the second floor as well as a terrace with a hammock on the first. There is also an empty mini fridge which was a nice touch to keep our water bottles cold. You can easily walk to town in case you need to go to a store but there is not much to do in the small town. Finally, the restaurant is fantastic. The waiters are eager to help and the evening view is breathtaking. My only complaint would be their very small selection of local wines. Had I known this, I would’ve brought a nice bottle of wine from home. This is also an ideal place for a couple getaway. We will definitely come back. We stayed in room 24. …
Full disclaimer, i didn't spend the night here, but I did visit the restaurant and have a drink at the bar. I'm rating it five stars because the restaurant, patio area and view are all top notch. It was the prettiest spot I saw in Sauce, outside of that spot way out of town Sauce Lodge , but the service there was terrible. The bartender at El Sauce Resort was phenomenal, he was trained in Lima, enthusiastically spoke Spanish the whole time even though I'm sure he knew some English (it can be annoying when service people force English on you when you enjoy speaking Spanish) and made fantastic drinks. The lighting of the bar/restaurant is outside and uses elegant lighting and is open to a nice view of the lake. The price of the rooms were very reasonable as well. So, just wanted to give this place a nice rating, because my experience was great and I had wished that I had stayed here instead of the other hotel where I stayed.…
El Sauce Resort is a very nice hotel located on the shores of El Sauce Lagoon (also known as the Blue Lagoon). The hotel has first class facilities including spectacular well maintained gardens, a swimming pool and piers. The hotel needs a more dedicated and specialized management. A serious case is for example that the masseuse starts talking on the phone when she is giving a message. But in general and considering the spectacular of the site, one can spend a great time. There are various tours, nautical activities for the whole family. Arriving there takes an hour and a quarter from the city of Tarapoto. Anyway, I'll be back soon.
Amazonas vow Blue Lagoon What a blessing to travel to this Region and with instinct to book this Amazing hotel and wonderful staff Drinks food and relaxation But But no paved Roads for over 1 hour , Not easy to get to very Remote town . But nothing else matters. Love this amazing Resort a must for Adventure Or seizure travels.
The hotel is right at the shore of the lake, the view is breathtaking, very friendly staff, clean rooms, good food. It is really worth it to stay and sleep at Laguna Azul instead of just taking the day tour.
