Yasuragi is one of my most favourite spots in Stockholm, and one of my favourite SPAs. Usually we stay at one of the regular rooms, this time, however we splurged on a ryokan - a Japanese style suite that includes a particular in-room service and is equipped with a small swimming pool. It also features a breathtaking view towards the water and the island of Lidingö. The balcony is certainly nice in summer. We were very pleased with the size of the suite, and our concierge was very pleasant and accommodating. The suite, however, has seen its better days. From earlier experience, we know that other rooms have been remodelled some time ago. There are very nice bathrooms and .the rooms are on general aesthetically pleasing. Our suite, however, hasn’t seen a brush of new paint for quite some time with paint chipping off places, a very dated bathroom and unfortunately a really old bed/mattress. It is beyond our understanding, why the suites have not been remodelled, as the other rooms. Also, we found a used piece of snus (chewing tobacco) by the pool/bathtub in our room, which was pretty disgusting. Our package included dinner, breakfast and lunch. Our dinner was very tasty, served by our very attentive concierge. Breakfast was good, short of veggies that had been cut up hours before being served. The lunch, however, served at the restaurant was a disappointment. Unfortunately, I wasn’t expecting more than that either, as I have never experienced food in the main restaurant to be particularly good. If you’re looking for a visit - wait until the Teppanyaki restaurant is reopened, as it is way better than the regular option. The common facilities at the SPA were great as usual with a number of different areas to swim, sauna and relax at. Most of the staff is very pleasant and attentive, which makes every visit a great experience.

Thank you for your extensive review. We really appreciate it. When it comes to our Ryokans we are on it to have them updated and we are waiting for delivery from Japan of new tatami among other things. We are also happy to say that our Teppanyaki now has re-opened. We do hope to see you back and wish you a great 2022.

The moment you check it, you dive into a different world. Everybody is asked to wear a Kimono during the whole stay, including for dinner. At first I thought this to be awkward but then loved it. My wife and I emerged in the whole experience which actually brought back memories from a trip to Japan some years ago. Especially the bath in the hot outdoor pool is worth time and money. Not to forget, the Japanese food is top!

It’s nice Japanese Spa in Sweden Stockholm, they have many offers for day pass or staying the night there, the best things I like about the spa the concept of free zone of phones and mobiles. They have free classes you can attend like yoga class or meditation class.

The world remains broken and travelling to Japan is only a distant dream. Except. My husband and I decided to do as the explorers of old did and seek east by travelling west. And oh the things we found! Yasuragi is beautiful. Full stop. The moment you enter the grounds you are surrounded by serenity of Nordic nature. You walk under the torii gates and are greeted by a beautiful garden. The hotel itself is an old conference center beautifully transformed into a Japanese spa hotel. Concrete, wood and glass beautifully hidden in the middle of a coastal forest, the smell of pine trees filling the air. Should you ever travel here, I wholeheartedly recommended staying in a ryokan room. I know the price is a bit nasty but there will be no regrets. The atmosphere was pure Japan, calm and beautiful, the sound of water running into your very own onsen filling the room. You really won't feel like leaving the room at all. And you won't have to as the dinner (and whatever else you may desire) will be served in the room by your very own Nakai-san. Though you should fight the urge to stay in and at least visit the public spa. Even with all the other people, it's still an amazing experience. As lovely as our stay was, there were a few downsides as well. The bed was not like the ones you'll see in Japanese ryokan. Way too soft for my taste. Same goes for the pillow. A small thing but still worth noting. But the main issue was the food... How should I put this? It was ok but definitely not the standard you would expect in a place like this. And absolutely nothing like what you would expect to find in Japan. If it was just for the food, I would not return. But with everything else, I cannot wait to go back! Oh, and their own sake is fantastic!

Dear Marika, we're so happy you decided to go west this time, to meet the east. Thank you for your extensive and well-written review. We are sorry the food didn't live up to your expectations. We do hope that you would like to come back in the future and hope you had a nice journey back to the near east. Warm regards from us here at Yasuragi

The bath was excellent, but since you can’t use the phone so we missed the time for dinner. We were late for 10mins and we’ve waited there 7min for people before us and for someone to come. And the first thing the staff said, was “you guys are late” in a serious face. I don’t think we deserve that. Also the suit Mezame, bed was nice but there was almost nothing inside, no fridge, everything is in plastic, smelly toilet...it’s not worthy for over 10000SEK honestly.
