My wife and I recently stayed at Fireside for the second time. Having stayed there before we knew we would be well served by our hosts, the Carta family. It is nice to start your day with great food served up by happy, friendly people who obviously enjoy what they do! All of the other amenities they provide were well appreciated also. Steve, Tracy, Nick and Tamra truly go the extra mile to assure that you have a great experience. The lodge is perfectly situated on the edge of town, and backs up to Forest Service land which allows for hiking and biking to beautiful Lake Tahoe and historic Camp Richardson. We have found that the Carta's slogan "A guest the first time, a friend for a lifetime", certainly holds true for us!! If you are headed to South Lake Tahoe, there is no better place to stay than the Fireside Lodge! Judy and Rick Holm

We had the most wonderful retreat at Fireside Lodge! Our room (#10) was cute, well-apportioned, comfortable, and very clean. The owners are true dog lovers (our boy tested them) and incredible hosts. We immediately felt at home and so cared for. It is evident that they love what they do as it shows in the property and amenities. The lodge backs up to a forest with a beautiful bike path that takes you (for a little more than a mile or so) to Camp Richardson and Pope Beach. We loved the setting and the amenities! The day begins with a lovely breakfast (our kids LOVED the waffles and all of the toppings!), then, later in the evening, Fireside has an awesome wine and cheese bar which is followed by s'mores at the fire pit. They also have a ton of games and a super fun game room!

Our hosts, Tamara, Nick, Steven and Tracy made sure our stay was the best it could be! For starts, we were greeted with a glass of wine and a tour of the property. That's the way to welcome your guests, I say! The property is beautifully appointed with lots of antiques and special touches throughout. We stayed in the Pioneer Room, cozy and comfortable. The kitchen nook window looks out into the woods, making it great cat TV if you bring your kitty along, like we did! Breakfast was delicious, but my favorite time of the day was happy hour by the fireplace. The wine flowed freely and nice nibblers to go with it! An unexpected treat was dinner on the patio cooked by chef Nick for all the guests one evening! It was all those personal touches as well as the perfect location, that will keep us coming back for more! Thanks, guys!

The Fireside Lodge is located just a mile or so south of Camp Richardson on the west shore of Lake Tahoe...perfect place to experience Fallen Leaf Lake, Emerald Bay, Eagle Falls, Mt. Tallac and much more. Dining options are very close...but the real joy of the place is it's quaint, clean, updated rooms, the free breakfast, and outside area with a gazebo, tables and chairs and a fire pit to make complimentary somemores in the evening. Bicycles are available for free and the Fireside is located very near the bike path. Complimentary wine and snacks are also provided. Each room is unique and decorated with a mountain theme...and very clean! The hosts, Steve and Tracy, Nick and Tamara and the whole crew are REALLY nice and very helpful. It's a great place to stay at a reasonable price.

We stayed two night in the Pioneer Room. For breakfast the lodge had two dining rooms, an outdoor eating area, or you could eat in your room. The owners served guests and were mindful of protocals for covid safety. For relaxation, there was a game room, relaxation area with sauna, an ourdoor firepit and picnic tables for enjoying moderate October weather. The property was about fifty feet from the exensive bike path that reaches into town or out beyond Camp Richardson. They had a rack full of free bicycles for gueast use. Hosts were wecloming and informative. Rooms were comfortable, well kept and had a kitchen nook.
