My family and I recently stayed here for a few days to get away with the kids. Fireside Lodge was the perfect location- we could not be happier. Our kids favorite part of the trip was the vintage game room at the lodge! The staff is very helpful and friendly. Breakfast in the morning is great and saved us a ton of money by not having to eat out. I highly recommend taking one of their bikes out for a ride down to the lake. Overall, Fireside Lodge was a great central location for all of the Tahoe / Carson activities that we had planned and a comfortable place to stay.

Property's Favorite Review
My wife, myself and our teenage son stayed at the Fireside Lodge n early June 2021. After 18 months of WFH and distance learning we all needed some time away from the house and the city. Tahoe was a perfect choice for that getaway. And upon arrival at the Fireside we felt immediately comfortable. Other families, back for another stay, were greeted as returning friends. Steve and Tracy greet their guests by first name. This is not like any hotel you've stayed at before. You can tell Steve & Tracy and family really love accommodating their guests, they are the most convivial hosts you will ever meet, and their guests love them. It's a cliche but the personal attention really does make you feel like family. Tahoe is beautiful. That much sells itself. The lake, the mountains, the trails. What isn't so great is the over the top Vegas vibe one gets in downtown South Tahoe. Not the chill mountain town you might be looking for. Fireside Lodge is perfect if you are looking for somewhere away from all that madness. It's a short drive back into to town for dinner or groceries. Or there are a few restaurants within walking distance (if you like a walk). It's a much more pleasant location all thing considered. Then take into consideration the proximity to the beaches and the activities on the West side of the lake. Pope Beach, Emerald Lake, Cascade Lake, Fallen Leaf are all just minutes away. The Fireside courtesy bikes make for a fun day out to the Kiva Beach, and be sure to stop at Camp Richardson General Store for sandwiches on the way. Delicious. After a day of hiking or biking or beach lounging there is Happy Hour back at the Fireside to enjoy. Meet other guests, discuss the music selection of the day with Steve, enjoy the selection of wine and cheese & crackers. Later, enjoy complementary smores around the firepit. Steve is always doing the rounds to make sure the ship is running right and no one is without anything the need. The dogs are always around too, looking for some loving or mischief. It's a very dog friendly accommodation. Breakfast is handled with military precision and guests are given all they need to get the day off to a good start. The waffles and french vanilla coffee are still missed around here. Tracy or Olivia are always available to offer recommendations for day activities, with local insider secrets the average tourist would not usually get to be aware of. A lovely 30-40 minute drive from the Fireside is the Donner Pass Monument if you feel like a bit of historical culture day trip. We also had an audio tour guide on the phone and spent a day taking a slow lap around the lake. A beautiful drive with incredible views of the mountains and lake. The worst thing about going on vacation is coming home. But we all hope to get back up to the Fireside Lodge one day. It's just too good to stay away for long. Edit: I really hope the fires Tahoe is experiencing now do not get to the Fireside. I know the city has been evacuated and I feel dreadful for the family. After a year plus of struggling with Covid lockdowns, keeping the Lodge open and running, to have to deal with this now. Everyone there is in our thoughts.

After going by this nice looking lodge for years, my husband and I had the opportunity to actually spend a night there in late September 2022. We were thrilled to see our adorable room all decked out in Tahoe decor. We joined in for a complimentary happy hour-which was actually 2 hours…cheese, crackers, olives, figs and wine of course. Then we gather at the fire pit to enjoy complimentary s’mores. The owners were friendly and engaging. Moo Moo and Maxwell were a delightful addition to the lodge experience. Be certain to stay at the Fireside Lounge to figure out who exactly Moo and Max are. You won’t regret it! The lodge is away from the hustle and bustle of hwy 50 Lake Tahoe Blvd tucked into a picturesque setting. Nearby there are forest service trails for hiking. We had a wonderful time.

My wife and I stayed at the Fireside Lodge, right before the 2022 Labor Day weekend. A wonderful place and they provided a wonderful service. We took an afternoon hike and missed the evening wine and cheese happy hour by twenty minutes. No problem. The owners Steve and Tracy and their daughter Olivia, very friendly and interesting to visit with, prepared a platter of cheese, crackers, meats and wine. They brought the platter to our room and treated us like royalty. Better than a five-star resort. I would love to stay there again if and when we return to Lake Tahoe, and I highly recommend the Fireside Lodge Bed and Breakfast to anyone looking for a quality place to stay while at Lake Tahoe. By-the-way, the included breakfast was fabulous. My wife and I stayed at a south shore budge motel the week before, for nearly the same price and plain white walls to boot. I won't say their name, but at least the hotel left the light on.

The owners, Steve and Tracy and their family are so kind and helpful. On arrival, Steve gave us a tour of the place, went over all the amenities for us. He is such a great host and engages all the guests and knows their names. The rooms and all the common areas are decorated like a mountain lodge. Great detail everywhere you look. Loved the breakfast with waffles and all kinds of toppings, oatmeal, bagels, hard boiled eggs, yogurt, etc.. There's wine/cheese/crackers from 5-7 pm. And S'mores over the gas fire pit in the evenings. Lots of outdoor seating and a Cornhole game. You can borrow bikes for free and there's a bike trail right next to the property. There are board games and DVDs you can borrow. They are very dog friendly. We enjoyed meeting all the visiting dogs there! We travel a lot, all over the world, and this was one of my favorite places we've stayed. We will definitely return and highly recommend this place to our friends!

We absolutely love Fireside Lodge! We have been coming here for a couple of years. The smaller boutique property allows for special touches and more interaction with the family that owns it. Steve, Tracy, Nick, Tam and Olivia are the best. The lodge is very dog friendly and our girls love coming here and enjoying all the amenities. They love the waffle bar for breakfast and this trip our eldest enjoyed helping Steve and Olivia with our orders. We enjoy the happy hour (stuff for kids too) to relax before heading out for dinner. Then heading back from dinner for s’mores by the fire pit! They also have a small arcade and DVDs to check out. They also have beach cruisers available and inflatable paddle boards to rent. They are less then 2 miles from Kiva Beach (dog friendly) and Tallac beach. Also less then a mile from Pope Beach. We just love how nice the family is and how much fun our girls (and the dog) have here. Of course we will continue to come back for years to come!

Never thought we would spend so much time at the property. The Family Staff there makes it hard not to. Breakfast, Happy Hour, Smore's and especially the Staff make you feel like family. Our Border Collie Henry was in Heaven. Rooms were clean and well stacked with everything you need. Very well decorated. Like the title, Just an outstanding time, and or course Lake Tahoe is right there.

I can't speak highly enough about the Fireside Lodge. Eighteen of us descended on the Lodge for a Lake Tahoe adventure we'd postponed twice due to COVID and last year's fires. The Lodge is out of the hustle and bustle of South Lake Tahoe, but close to everything. The rooms are excellent - clean, comfortable, and with daily maid service. The breakfast is delicious and hearty. But what sets Fireside Lodge apart is the service. Steven and Tracy could not have been more accommodating. They seemed to anticipate our every need, and if they couldn't help us, they knew who could. Whether you're traveling solo or with a group, I recommend you give the Fireside Lodge a try.

The Fireside Lodge is 2nd to none in Lake Tahoe. The Carta family will welcome you with open arms. You will be treated like royalty. Breakfast every morning. Complimentary bikes to cycle 20 minutes to the lake. Each of the 10 charming rooms offer a different theme, with free dvd's (hundreds to choose from). Firepit, BBQ and outdoor relaxation areas are amazing. As well as the sauna and game room! Thanks Steve for helping us have a wonderful vacation!

We hosted our sons wedding rehearsal dinner here. It was fantastic. Steven and Traci made our event fantastic. I wish we would have booked to stay there for the weekend. We hosted 50 people for dinner and it was a lot of fun. They made sure we had plenty of room for family. Steve put out corn hole for us and at the end of the evening we roasted marshmallows around their amazing fireplace. We had family from newborn to 89s with walkers and everyone was comfortable. We rented a few rooms for family and regretted not renting more rooms for us.
