This hotel is located in the heart of Heavenly Village. At it's door step is the Gondola, restaurants, shops, an ice skating rink and movie theater. Across the street is a grocery store and more restaurants and shops. It did not disappoint. We had a one bedroom and it was spacious and clean. Well appointed with everything set up for our comfort and enjoyment. The laundry room was down the hall with two washers and two dryers, both available at no cost. From check in to check out the staff was friendly, helpful and on it. Highly recommend this hotel.

Stayed here while on a girls trip with two friends in a rental we got through Airbnb. The location could really not be better. Walking distance to many shops and places to eat. We also walked to Nevada Beach one day, which was a bit of a longer walk, but was mostly nice once you get off the main strip. Our room had two bathrooms, a bedroom and common area with a small kitchen and fireplace. We loved the pool, although it was a bit crowded and there isn't a ton of space for pool chairs. It was nice that they provided pool towels there. Check-in was slow but concierge was great. I believe that they only offer valet parking, which wasn't an issue for us as it was included in our Airbnb, but just something to be aware of. Tahoe is a beautiful area and I would not hesitate to stay here again!

You’re in the mountains. Snow and winds arrive more reliably than caviar and refinement. The Tahoe Marriott Grand Residence Club modifies your stay accordingly. For one, you will be well equipped to face a power outage. Your room will be accessed over synthetic carpets of such static charge, that a single discharge of your finger will likely light the entire room and maybe even toast your bread. As part of your package, you will receive daily visual reminders of what it’s like to get trapped under an avalanche. This will come in the form of low polystyrene ceilings that also double up as a time machine. When an average height woman is able to touch the ceiling without rising on her toes, we’re heading back to caves. The stay also includes your own personal resilience coach. Meet twice a day with your bath spout - a creature that will stubbornly refuse to direct all the water to the shower head above, no matter how hard and far you pull the switch. In the same style of stubbornness, the bathroom air vent never stops, the windows and doors constantly leak cold air and the bedroom fireplace is limited to a 15-minute run time. Clearly, the architect’s idea of temperature control was inspired by an adventurous night spent suspended on a ski lift in the middle of a snow storm. You’re also one block away from Nevada and her crowd of 2 & a half star barbarians. That’s not a reference to incomes and hotel stars. It’s a reference to creatures who were born whole but somehow adopted such conceptual emptiness that even staring at a slot machine feels like a break. The demographic confluence of people with these Casino zombies makes the Gondola area (and the two Marriotts) a commercial mixture of all quality levels from delicious ice creams to pizzas whose box tastes superior. Yet for me, the cafes always elude the warming smiles and songs of a cosmopolitan après ski scene. Regardless of the store or restaurant, the locals always seem to be genuine, helpful and candidly unilluminated. The Marriott Vacations has no in-house restaurants, but it does have something far more unique: its wellness area. The main pools are heated to 85 ‘F and 100 ’F year round (open until 8pm), there is a decent gym open 24 hours and best of all, the sauna and the steam room are also open 24 hours. I’ve used the sauna several times outside normal hours and I was very glad to stay at this hotel. Also very cool is the free option to have your ski equipment stored in a staffed store just outside the Gondola. Super cool.

We are MVC points owners so we came here with the basic expectation that it would be similar to other MVC properties. For me the biggest difference and biggest con was the lack of in room washer/dryer. There’s a small laundry room and the once by us had two washers and two dryers, and one of the washers was broken the entire time we were there. Laundry is really necessary on a ski trip, and this was a huge drag. Other than that the rooms were nice, we had a 2BR and that was plenty of space for my family of 6. The pull out sofa is the new roam mattress type and is really comfy. The pillows, on the other hand, are HORRIBLE. Every one of us had neck issues after sleeping on these “pillows” for a week. I’ve never had pillows like that at a Marriott. They’re not the normal size, they’re skinny like half the width of a normal pillow, and very flimsy. The real draw of this hotel is location. You can’t beat being so close to the gondola and the entire village.

Long windy hallways, trash and towels in the hallways for hours and unhelpful concierge. There are 2 elevators and if your room is on the end that has a single elevator, get ready for a long windy walk to your room! I noticed people would put the luggage cart in from if their room or by the elevator and it clearly says to return to lobby area, but nobody wants to make that long trip back once they finally get to their room! I asked the concierge if the gondola takes you to the ski resort and her answer " it takes you to the end of the gondala". Huh.... I found out later, yes it takes you to the ski Heavenly Ski resort at the top. Also the hand sanitizer that they have in the elevators was empty for at least 2 days. If your coming to ski everyday, then yes, stay here, because it's very convenient, but if you only want to see around the city, don't stay here, it's not worth the price and crowds.
