My husband and I stayed at the Marriott Grand Residence Club in South Lake Tahoe from April 24th - April 27th. First off, I want to say that this hotel is located in a great location. It is in Heavenly Village, and you are surrounded by lots of shops and restaurants. The state line between Nevada and California is just a short walk as well if you want to walk to any casinos. Valet parking was an ease. We just left our car parked out front. The valets come and meet you as you pull up in front of the hotel. They were all really nice. Anytime we wanted our car, we would click a link they had texted us at the beginning, and they'd have our car out very quickly for us. Check in was really easy too. The woman at the front desk (I think her name was Noelle) was really sweet. She explained everything to us really well and answered all of our questions. She was also very knowledgeable about what was around. We ran into a problem with our keycard while we were there, and Noelle got it sorted out very quickly! All the staff we encountered were nice though, but we mostly dealt with Noelle whenever we had questions. I liked that they had cold water mixed with fruit in the lobby. They also had old school video games (like the ones you got at Pizza Hut back in the 90s.) Those were pretty cool too. The whole hotel lobby was very spacious and nice. I didn't get a chance to use the fitness room or pool, but they both looked nice. There were also different type of activities available to do at the hotel or their sister property offered every day. We didn't go to any though, but it was nice to know they were available. Our room was super spacious! The bedroom was nice with an (electric) fireplace. There was also a balcony to sit on too that led out of our bedroom. The bathroom attached to the bedroom was so big with a jacuzzi tub! Shower pressure in the shower was really good too. We also had a nice and spacious living room with a fire place (which didn't work, but we didn't bother to tell the hotel about it although I'm sure they would have quickly fixed it). The kitchen was a full kitchen with a big fridge/freeze, an oven, a stove, a dishwasher, and a microwave. There were plenty of dishes, utensils, etc. There was also dishwashing liquid, dishwasher tablets, plenty of trash bags, and probably other things I'm forgetting. There was also a decent sized table beside the kitchen too. There was a smaller (but still nice) bathroom off of our living room too. Plenty of seating was available in the living room including window seats to stare out the window. Super nice room! The bed was very comfortable and there were plenty of pillows. Wifi was really good too. There was enough choices of what to watch on tv (we had a tv in our bedroom and living room) - streaming and satellite tv available. Check out was a breeze too. The woman who checked us out was really nice. Overall, Marriott Grand Residence Club is one of the best hotels we've been too. With friendly staff and great accommodations, this is definitely the hotel to stay at whilst on vacation in the Lake Tahoe area.…

This hotel is centrally located. Walk to quite a bit, including the tram. The jacuzzi is only open until 10 pm. The rooms seem like old dorm rooms. They sure could spruce up the interior of the rooms and modernize them a bit.

Such a beautiful hotel, very comfortable and they are more like condos but with all the amenities of a hotel. Perfect location surrounded by shops and restaurants as well as a lift to the top of the mountain. You are about a 5-minute walk from the California/Nevada state line So if you're looking for a casino, you're only a few minutes away. The pool is heated so even though it was quite cool out, especially at night, the water was extremely warm.

Very nice place overall. Clean, comfortable villas - we reserved two 3 bedroom units for this large family vacation. Short walking distance to many restaurants and the Lake Tahoe large casinos - location is great! I would have given the property 5 stars, however, I specifically asked that the two units we reserved be reasonably close together, and the bottom line is the two units we were given could not have been further apart - and some of our party had limited mobility, so this was a major inconvenience.

We have stayed at Marriott Timber Lodge before and wanted to try the next-door property. Both properties are great with condo style large rooms, heated pool, instant hot shower, pretty buildings, and of course prime stateline location. I think Grand Residences is similar but better because: 1) less crowded and roomier 2) the room has a Murphy bed rather than sofa bed 3) shorter walk to the pool and other activities 4) valet parking is faster 5) the driveway is on a side street of US50 so it has less pedestrian crossing 6) raleys supermarket is across the street 7) you can still access kids club and other Timber Lodge stuff The only downside is you hear hallway noise pretty easily through the door, and mandatory $35/day +tips valet parking is not my preference. It was pretty cheap too - for spring break time in late March. We would definitely come back, thanks!…

This was our second stay and we can't imagine being in South Lake Tahoe and staying here. Our two bedroom was spacious enough that the five of us never felt under foot. The kitchen is well appointed with everything from stainless steel pots, pans, utensils, crockpot, toaster, coffee maker, etc ... more than enough for a weeks stay. Bedding clean and comfy. Bathrooms clean with more than enough amenities. The property amenities with its pool and two hot tubs, spa with steam room and sauna are all perfect for the winter guests. The location is prime with all the shops, great restaurants and activities just outside the any of the three main exits. The property itself is beautiful and well kept. Valet only parking is great, we never had to wait for our car. There was one hiccup. Upon check in, were were doubled charged. I brought to the attention of the front desk assistant manager and he was able to correct it. So the day after check out I realize I has not received my receipt via email and called the front desk to request a copy. The gal (which I won't name) that answered the phone was not only rude, but seemingly proud of it. When I said to her that she would not be rude like this had I been standing in front of her, she replied, "I probably would"! She tried to school me on how ownership there works and yet could not locate my records. She told me that I probably didn't receive an email because I "rented from an owner". I corrected her and said I booked the room on the Marriott.com website and she quickly blurted back that "it's still the owners room, because owners can post the rental on the Marriott website". Even I know that's not how it works! Wow ... she certainly is not someone who should be the face of the company. But not all is lost, I then asked for the front desk manager who was very kind and helpful, was able to locate my records and said she would email me a copy (of which I have not yet received, LOL). Despite the rude attitude of the front desk clerk on the phone. It was a great visit, easy stay, amazing location and honestly everyone we encountered including maintenance, housekeeping and the front desk were kind and helpful. Rude Concierge Eric! Stopped by the concierge based on recommendation while checking in. Had to wait 15 minutes while He signed up the poor young in front of us for a presentation and rattled on and on. When they left he didn’t have time for us because he wanted to enter their information in and so much as said so. Then he demanded to know how many days we were staying. Basically gave us this paper but didn’t provide any other info on dining out and things to do.

Very nice hotel, friendly staff and the gondola is right out the front doors! Easy to ride on up to the slope, and be back down literally in front of your hotel. Very convenient, and it is right in the middle of the town. Lots of shopping and restaurants all around it. Highly recommend!

This property has always been amazing. I traveled here with my kids when they were younger ( they are 20 and 21 now) and they loved it. The property has maintained their level of excellence for many many years. From the pleasant hotel staff to the freshly baked cookies that are available upon arrival. The activities the staff provides are fun and can be enjoyed by all. The suites are always immaculately clean and include everything you need to enjoy your stay. The only issue I had with my recent visit is that the steam room was not working which we had planned to use. However, I am looking forward to enjoying the amenity during my next visit.

If you don't want to drive in snowy conditions and stay put for days - this is the place. Just walk outside the hotel to the gondola for skiing, restaurants, bars, retail shops, groceries, ice skating. The large hot tubs were wonderful for meeting fellow skiers, followed by a jump in the pool even when it's 25 degrees outside. Lots of scheduled events (trivia, crafts) even made it fun for our adult party to have fun and socialize with the other guests. We loved our stay here.
