Well we knew when we booked that their would be some changes during the stay due to COVID19, and that's understandable. But for owners you expect a little more. Nope. They cleaned out alot of stuff from the kitchen, so I've had to call the front desk for some stuff like dishwasher soap, dish soap, sponges, crockpot. We can not use the usually provided humidifiers due to the Pandemic so we're stuck with having bloody noses cracked lips, dry eyes. Not fun! I made the choice before we arrived, to cook all our meals in our suite, which for now is best due to the county as most, are in the most restrictive tier, so if restaurants are open, its take out or you have to eat outside (its like 30°F) And to my knowledge hotels, resorts, etc., are supposed to be at 30% or maybe 50% capacity. This place is packed. I can see most of the room at night have lights on, and people in them. I think that's a no no? People and the staff here have ALL been great at wearing masks. Here's where I'm venting, because I can't reach the front desk, guest services, concierge, ANYONE. Our internet service has been out going on 2 days. So we can't even call on our room phone to ask about it, or ask for supplies for the Villa. We were supposed to be on a Zoom meeting this morning, it didn't happen. We don't get a good enough phone signal from our room to use our phone as a hotspot! I tried using my cell phone to call the hotel's front desk to get some answers and it just takes you to a recorded message saying they're all busy. No point in leaving a message, as it probably is connected through the internet. So now we'll have to go down to the front desk if we need supplies, like toilet paper, paper towels, soap. Its really ridiculous when you've been used to getting cleaning service at least one time during your weeks stay. You won't get help with luggage, groceries, chests, skis, anything, unless YOU load it onto their rolling carts, then they can push it to your room and YOU unload it. But they don't have a problem taking your car you've just been driving, and put in the underground garage that we're not allowed in without them. My husband had to be escorted down there on foot so he could retrieve his hearing aid box. (Liability i guess). Im REALLY upset about not having Internet, since we've all been accustomed to depending on it, and doing all our banking, bill paying, securing our homes by it and viewing activity on it, by internet. We can't step outside for air, no balcony for us! Instead we can only get the window open about 3 inches before it hits the guard so you cannot open further (dang, we forgot the tools we usually bring to take those off)

We stay at the Timber Lodge at least once a year. Usually in November, occasionally other seasons. This is the first time we have been here during the pandemic. The hospitality is still outstanding. Quite a few things have changed because of covid, however it didn't bother us, as it's just nice to get away and enjoy Lake Tahoe's fresh, clean air. I miss the activities the most. The gym had to close while we were here because of California's growing covid cases. There is no indoor dining, however, you can dine outside under heat lamps. There are loads of places in the village to find drinks , meals and snacks. We cooked most meals in the well equipped kitchen. Our apartment is a 1 bedroom with full kitchen. It was completely clean and sanitized. There is no daily room service or tidy. If you want anything, you call for it and it is delivered quickly. Masks are required throughout the resort and I haven't seen anyone without one. We are here for 9 nights and are currently still on site. I'm impressed with the friendliness of all staff, from the valet to the front desk to housekeeping. Hopefully the next time we return to Lake Tahoe, the pandemic will be under control and we can enjoy all that this lovely property has to offer. In the meantime, I feel safe staying at the Marriott Timber Lodge and have enjoyed our get away.

I get this hotel for my son every year .The rooms are just gorgeous, the hotel smells amazing , and they love it! They have gone to this hotel for the last three years. They have Expressed how beautiful and pleasant it is. Hospitality is excellent! One reason I love Marriott😀

Our family spent 5 nights at Timber Ridge just prior to the opening of the ski season. Our original stay was to be 4 nights but had to add the 5th night and the hotel was so accommodating to us and we were able to stay in our same room. We booked a two bedroom suite (full one bedroom suite with kitchen and the adjoining single room) at a great price. There is an additional $29/night charge for valet parking (no self parking) and the hotel has a text system for your car retrieval that works well. The kitchen is well equipped and we found anything we needed to prepare some meals in our room. The location of Timber Lodge is excellent. Located at the Gondola and within the Heavenly Village there are so many choices of eating and snack places. And just steps away from the State Line and the casinos of Nevada. Our room was very clean and when we needed extra towels, soap, etc it was brought up to our room quickly. There is no daily room service with Covid and we did not miss that service. There is a nice hotel gym but was closed for most of our stay due to Covid restrictions. The staff was very nice and did their best to have the guests conform to Covid rules of face masks and social distance. There is even a sign on the elevator doors stating only one person in the elevator at a time expect for family members. Inside our room the TV controls were wrapped in a plastic sleeve to insure Covid sanitation. Also when checking into the hotel the luggage carts are clearly marked which ones have been sanitized. All in all this is a wonderful hotel and location for your stay in South Lake Tahoe.

Marriotts are typically great and you can usually count on cleanliness and quality sleep. However, this particular property is prob the worst I’ve stayed at, from start to finish. First, you can only valet (which is $30) unless you want to park at Harrahs or elsewhere. The parking attendant that approached our vehicle got all our info and said he’d come back with a green ticket. Never came back. So we just got out of the car and proceeded to check in. At which point the other valet ppl stopped us and were giving my sister a hard time. Just didn’t know what they were doing and disorganized. Had to register car all over again. Like Groundhog Day. And then that second guy still walked away without taking the keys or giving a ticket, so we were like ummmm??? And he said “oh sorry.” Yeah. Then at check in desk, credit card reader wouldn’t work. We were driving all the way from East Utah on that day and got a flat tire. Notified the hotel that we would be arriving quite late and requested late check out. The person I talked to said we could check out at noon. Great. Well, next morning we called the desk around 9am just to make sure. Nope, no late checkout noted. But every detail about our late arrival and flat tire noted. Lol. So, the only thing we wanted didn’t happen. Cool! Lastly. Checkout. Also chaotic and unsatisfactory. Another car was blocking ours. Cars erratically parked everywhere. I actually directed traffic to help my sister get out. 2 stars for comfort and cleanliness. Not sure if all of this is a fluke but it sucked. Hope this helps.
