This hotel has more of the outdoorsy feel compared to the casinos in South lake. Nice fire pits and outdoor area to relax and enjoy live music every night. The rooms are small and over priced for the the amount of space an amenities that are offered. I was hoping they had a gear rack to hang coats and other ski gear in the room. I was disappointed to find a small closet area tucked in the very. Back of the room. The walls of the rooms are paper thin, my friend and I listened to a dog bark for 3 hours one night while trying to get sleep. Only one of the two hot tubs was in working order, but when we went to go check out it looked like it had not been cleaned in a while. Also the water level was way below normal.

Hotel's Favorite
Basecamp is my favorite, FAVORITE place to stay in South Lake. Hubby and I stayed 2 nights to see a concert at Harvey’s. Location couldn’t be better. You are literally across the street from the entrance to the concert venue. They have a sweet outdoor beer garden with corn hole, live music and local beers on tap. Room was super clean. I’ve stayed places where my feet were black from walking around barefoot. There was none of that here. I’m used to a super firm bed. The bed was a little soft which was a nice change. The pillows were perfection. The decor was adorable. Any place that has a super cute mini igloo cooler to transport your ice in is A+ in my book! Hubby and I ate at the coffee shop in the lobby for breakfast. I had instant oats; he had a potato bowl. Both were so yum and a perfect start to our day on the lake. Coffee was amazing. I almost don’t want to leave this review so no one else knows about this place but us! Stay here…. It’s an experience you won’t regret!

From booking to check-in to the extra service provided Rachel & Maddie, this place lived up to the hype. In particular, Rachel & Maddie were the absolute best. We came in with our kids and they made us feel warmed, welcomed and at home. All hotels should have a welcome committee like Rachel & Maddie!

Super comfortable stay with a cool style at a very reasonable price. We arrived late and Marshall was very welcoming and accommodating throughout the check in process. The hot tub on a cold clear night after a week of hardcore mountain biking was so relaxing. I would totally recommend this stay to my friends and family.

Thanks to Letty Amanda and Megan my recent trip to Base Camp South Lake Tahoe was truly a pleasure, Letty the manager was on point as always providing a wonderful hotel stay experience. Her ability to solve problems and offer real solutions was fantastic and is why i am a frequent flyer at this location. I highly recommend these three Ladies for their exceptional service. They are all friendly and a joy to be around, i pick this facility not for it’s amazing hotel accommodations, although they are great too, but for the people who run this place day in and day out, Thank you all! Many positives about this hotel and a few negatives. Check in took awhile as the one receptionist was on the phone 5 min. He did apologize, then it was quick. Great restaurant for breakfast, coffee and awesome bar for drinks and live music nightly. Many areas to hang out including fire pits and indoor areas. Bar food was alright. Hot tub is large, but only slightly warm. Hotel needs some painting and upkeep. Hallway smelled like urine. Walls are thin, we were on the upper level (3) and still felt like someone was above us. No elevator. Very close to casinos and walkable to Heavenly Gondola. A couple of blocks from the lake. Very nice staff. We had the family suite with the bunks above us (we didn’t need the bunks but it was what was left) slightly dangerous as everyone in the family hit their head on the cross bar at least once. I would stay here again because it’s a good price point and a great location.

Super cute and cozy. All of the staff was friendly, and the location is very convenient to casinos and ski resorts. Our room had a fireplace. Beds are comfy, and everything was extremely clean. Perfect place to stay! We can’t wait to come back.
