Three (3) fabulous days in July 2022. We had the Two-Queen bed hotel room w/full kitchen and it was great. The hotel in general exceeded expectations and I'd simply say that I agree with the most positive reviews posted below... We stayed at the Marriott Timber Lodge for 3-days immediately after our time at the Lakeshore Lodge and as nice as that place is, it is hard to be the experience and feeling of having the sunrises and sunsets over the lake right out your patio/balcony, or the sand and pool literally at your doorstep... While the hotel and rooms were in good shape and quite nice, we do wish they'd reline the pool for aesthetics - it didn't stop anybody from having fun (and the pool water was super well cared for) but it would just feel nicer if they did... ... Overall, we all loved our stay here and would go back without hesitation. Also, while it's great having the beach right outside, please be sure to get out and around to some of the truly outstanding and dramatic coves and beaches around the lake which truly make Tahoe - Tahoe... Specifically Sand Harbor (which is a must, and be sure to arrive early!)…
Our duplex condo had breathtaking views of Lake Tahoe which we enjoyed from our private balcony. The condo itself was very comfortable, and featured a full kitchen, two nice bathrooms, woodturning stove, and television with cable. It was immaculately clean. I don't agree with the other reviews about updating. It's true that it doesn't look like it was built in 2022, but the furnishing and finishes were in great shape, and it was an incredible value. The location was unbeatable ... we could walk to most things including great restaurants, a Safeway, and a CVS. We also enjoyed the swimming pool and hot tub. The service was really above and beyond. We had originally planned a one-night stay, but we arrived exhausted and one of our family had altitude sickness, so we asked to extend our stay to get a little more rest before moving on. Three staff members helped us with our request due to shift changes over our first night, and they were all friendly, understanding, and very supportive. We felt very welcomed. Highly recommend!…
We stayed in a lakeview downstairs condo unit. Does need some upgrading. Spotty internet. Overall a pleasant stay. The weather was unseasonably bad 1 1/2 out of the 3 days we were there, but the unit has charm and is cozy. A little pricey for what it was.
The property looks and feels like a Motel 6 with great views of the lake. The property looks like it hasn't been updated for a while. Upon arrival I was unable to get any help bringing my bags to the room Expensive for the price.
A friend and I stayed two weekend nights as part of a Heavenly ski trip. Price was great, especially given how expensive South Lake Tahoe gets on winter weekends. Convenient location to Heavenly's California Lodge. The property seemed well maintained and it was great to wake up to a view of the lake each morning. Glad the room had a minifridge and the year round hot tub made for some nice relaxing after several days skiing. Staff was very friendly.
Excellent place to stay and great value for money. Room was comfortable and well decorated. Had a gas fire that was lit via the thermostat. TV had excellent choices in channels. Private beach, Great Lake views from the balcony. Couldn’t use the pool as the pool was shut due to the ducks using the pool whilst the snow storm was happening, but the hot tub was open. Had an on-site spa but didn’t use this. There wasn’t any housekeeping due to COVID but the receptionist said we could approach them. Would definitely go again, hopefully when a bit warmer.
We wanted to do a staycation and see snow for the very first time. We wanted a spacious room with a kitchen and ideally with a lake view. We booked the Corner Queen 1 Bed and it's perfect! We even got private beach access, a heated swimming pool, and a hot tub!! We came in December, just before Christmas so it was not as costly - it was practically a steal for the comfort. The decor is all wooden cabin style, with full-size mirrors on closet doors (full-size closet, not walk-in); a fan, ironing board, an extra bedsheet; large wooden wall mounted coat hanger hooks; queen size bed; multiple non-tiny drawers with clean shelves; a charging port on either side (even the alarm clock has more charging ports - this usability we haven't seen even in a fancy hotel!) a tiny nook with the sink and another mirror; a small bathroom. There was also a love seat with a coffee table, a small round table, and two cushioned chairs all in the corner with four wide windows and three ceiling to floor windows that opens to a small balcony. The view from the bed, the sofa, and the chairs are awesome - one entire side looks onto the private beach area and lake - there are rarely people there now. There are even patio chairs and a small patio table - the cushions are inside the closet so that they are always dry. We take them out when we want to sit outside. The balcony fence is full glass so that we have an unbroken view of the lake even when sitting down - just shows the thought behind the design of the whole room. The best part is the space and how well it is lit with natural light. I love it every time I enter the room. The additional spacious kitchen is a bonus! Much more than what we would expect in a hotel, for less than half or even a quarter of the cost for the same comfort. It is not "luxurious" but extremely comfortable. The hot tub is shared with all the residents - it was amazing to soak in the hot bubbly water (it's definitely at least 104 Celsius :D ) and look up at the snowfall all around us and the stars! There is always hot water in the sink and shower. We switched to the upper room for the last 3 days of our stay - the next time, we would book the 3rd floor Queen for the best view from higher up; AND no noise! We can adjust the gas fireplace with a button that has temperature markings - the fireplace is so much more comfortable and pretty than heated AC. The place seems to be well insulated too - we stepped out many times but the room stays toasty and warm. The hot chocolate was discontinued because of COVID but we got an amazing breakfast and hot chocolate at Heidi's Pancakes situated in the same block. There is also CVS on the block and Safeway across the road. There are only two negatives about the room.- the bathroom is small, and the toilet is kid-size. The only other negative is that we can hear every step from the upper room.…
It was great stay in this superb hotel. Even though building is old style, overall well maintained. No keycard, but classic yellow metal key was so cute. Our room has private beach, and we enjoyed walking sand right outside of patio. We were so lucky to have this kind and trustworthy staff. I DO recommend this beautiful hotel to anyone who are hesitating in Tahoe trip.
I had an absolutely amazing stay at Lakeshore Lodge and spa. The hotel has great parking and is perfectly located off of the main strip. The rooms are large with charming decor and not to mention balconies that look out onto lake Tahoe!! I am not sure if the balcony or the outdoor fire pit/hot tub was my favorite part. The staff is also incredibly kind and went above and beyond to make my stay enjoyable (shoutout to Peggy)
We loved this hidden gem! Our patio opened right onto the sandy beach. The hot tub was a beautiful way to enjoy the stars. The staff was extraordinarily friendly. The room was furnished cabin-like and provided all that we needed for a short stay. We would definitely go back again.
