We LOVED our stay at this lodge! I wasn’t sure what to expect given some of the mixed reviews about property and rooms being older, but this place far exceeded our expectations! Absolutely ZERO complaints! Our room was super clean, beds comfy and omg the views from room are just INCREDIBLE! We are Floridians and so we are used to beautiful beaches, but this property’s beach and views are absolutely breathtaking! It’s hard to find beachfront rooms with views like this at such a reasonable price like this lodge offers. If you are on the fence, just DO IT! We stayed in room 205, which was conveniently located on second floor and easily accessed by the stairs inside the lobby (or elevator), but stairs were super convenient for our trips to and from the pool. It was a standard two queen room without a kitchen. Our family of four were comfortable for two nights here. Had we stayed longer, we would have opted for a room with a kitchen, but we did not need it for this stay. The balcony was spacious and views perfect! We enjoyed watching sunset each night with fire pit on lawn in background overlooking the lake. The beach has volleyball and cornhole too. Lots of social areas and a hot tub which allowed for more socializing with other travelers. We had stayed four nights prior to this at a more upscale and expensive resort in Olympic valley prior to our stay in south Tahoe here, and we wished we would have just stayed here the entire trip because we loved it so much more! The last two days we relaxed by the pool, canned drinks in hand (cvs is conveniently located in parking lot) and were in complete paradise. Starbucks is also across the street and a breakfast place, Heidi’s pancake house, also in lot. Our room on arrival day was ready early, by 12:00 and they even allowed us to check out an hour later our last day. Our stay here was perfect and we didn’t want to leave! Thank you Tahoe Lakeshore Lodge and Spa for an amazing experience! If we ever find ourselves back in Tahoe, we most certainly would stay here again and recommend it to anyone who asks!

Please DO NOT book this hotel as the rooms are very poor and the bathrooms are truly appalling. We stayed there for 2 nights, 29 and 30 April 23. We stayed room 105. The people are nice enough, the views out front are lovely…BUT this place is in massive need of an total refurb, the rooms are dated from the mid 70’s, BUT the toilets are truly horrible, far too small, probably from a children’s school. Honestly, that’s all I can say, go elsewhere in S L Tahoe.

Response from , Marketing at Tahoe Lakeshore Lodge and Spa
Responded 3 weeks ago
Dear Guest, Thank you for taking the time to provide your review and feedback. We are so sorry to hear you were not happy with your stay. The property offers 14 different rooms types, the room 105 is one of our standard single lodge queen rooms. We recommend to let the property know immediately if your are not happy to allow us to see if any other room options might have been more to your liking. We also offer condominiums with separate bathrooms and bedrooms instead of the lodge which will offer more hotel style rooms all in one space. The décor of the lodge rooms has purposefully been designed to reflect a very rustic Tahoe lodge style. We attempt to accurately depict the rooms on the hotel's website. Kindest Regards, Tahoe Lakeshore Lodge Management

I stayed in one of the lodge rooms, with a kitchen (as opposed to one of the condos). The room was quite large, and had a gas fireplace. The property is an older development, but it was all very well maintained. Importantly, it was spotlessly clean! The room had really good, strong, free wifi. The best part was the fabulous view! the private beach, gorgeous lake, and the mountains! Most other places don't give you that great view.

My wife and I just spent 2 nights here, 3rd floor corner kitchen room. So comfortable, absolutely beautiful views, and the gas fireplace kept us cozy and warm. We didn't need the staff for much, when when we had questions, they were courteous and helpful. We can't wait to return. Great lakeside property, so glad I made reservations months ago, although this time of year, I believe they still had availability. Highly recommended.

I needed a room for the night, and I was lucky to get one here. (I've stayed here a few times) This is by far the best motel in all of South Lake Tahoe. Beautifully decorated rooms, very clean, all amenities including decent coffee. And best of all a spectacular lakeview from the private balcony.

Such a cute hotel! We stayed here in a whim when we were in a pinch for a reservation, we were so happy! Beautiful views, very friendly, wonderful customer service! Clean, good sized rooms! Hot tub and pool, and did I mention the view?! So beautiful! Will definitely be back!

This was our second time staying and we loved it. Chose to stay in a condo this time since we were traveling with a larger group and it was exactly what we needed. Great price (like really great price), clean and well outfitted condo, and friendly staff. Plus the hot tub was great after a long day of skiing.

Perfect, clean, excellent location and kind personnel. We loved our stay and will definitely come back in winter time. The log cabin style of the rooms, the fireplace, the heated pool, the beach in front of your window. What is not to like ?

The setting for this resort couldn't be better. Sadly the building fails. Our room was nice, the view was spectacular, the furnishings adequate, but the place was dated. Everything showed wear. It isn't being maintained or updated. The bathroom was small and the tub and toilet looked like they were from the fifties. We spent the night listening to the kid upstairs run back and forth with little sound deadening. With a small investment, this could be an outstanding place to stay.

The room was very cute and appropriate for an older mountain lake hotel. It was clean and the amenities were exactly what we needed. The view was beautiful which made up for any room shortcomings and despite it being pretty warm, there was a nice breeze most of the time we were there. Since there's no air conditioning, the floor fan helped in the evenings when the wind died down. The location was great since there were several restaurants within walking distance. The only real complaints are that the pads on the metal chairs on the balcony were all worn down, making it feel like you were sitting on the seat bars. We reversed the pad so that we were sitting on the back section of the pad which helped but the pads should be replaced. Although the mattress was ok, it wasn't that comfortable. An upgrade on the mattress would be helpful.
