We stayed here 18 years ago and 29 years ago and loved it. The same owners have managed it for 30 years. It has not lost its charm and the breakfast is outstanding. The rooms are nicely appointed and the location is convenient. Perfect setting. All the jams at breakfast are homemade.
We stayed for two nights - could easily have spent at least one more night. The place is absolutely beautiful, and there is a lot to do in the area. The B&B has a good breakfast and you have access to a small kitchen with two hot plates, microwave, fridge and a freezer - which is really nice if you like us had ate at restaurants for two weeks when we arrived. There is a big supermarket 5 min drive from the B&B. The B&B has a few wines you can buy and enjoy in the living room. We drove to a city nearby one day (app. 5 min drive) and rented bikes. There are great biking routes clearly marked.
We stayed here for 3 nights in September. The owners are very kind, and we managed to communicate between our limited french and their slightly better english. Jean-Louis was very helpful in making a dinner reservation which we would not have been able to do on our own! The place is very clean and well appointed. We had a ground floor suite, 2 connecting rooms with 2 bathrooms. The grounds are wooded, and there is a small pond with benches to sit and reflect. We made this our home base to explore some of the Loire Valley castles. Contres is a small town and not much in the way of weekend eateries. Those available have limited seating. I would highly recommend reservations. Overall we enjoyed our stay here and would recommend it.
This lovely B &B was a cute small house with two bedroom and two bathrooms with small kitchen and fireplace. We stayed for one night at the end of August. It was perfect location for visiting some of the Loire Valley's famous chateaus. The owner set up a lovely breakfast for us at a preset time on the table in the kitchen/living room area. Everything was fresh and delicious! We really enjoyed our stay!
We spent two nights at this charming countryside B and B just minutes from Cheverny castle. We stayed in the upstairs room which was immaculate and spacious. Breakfast was delicious. The hosts Martine and Jean-Louis speak good English and were extremely helpful with dinner recommendations. The common room is comfortable. Wifi available. Would definitely recommend.
