A wonderful quiet haven for relaxation and a recharge . Far away from the hustle and bustle of life. The staff food massages etc are 5 star all round. The rooms are a little tired but takes you back to old style Bali. We will return .
The kindness of the staff, reminds you of the kindness of strangers. This resort brings beauty, serenity and joy in one package. I had never had massages and did not understand the happiness that being kind to yourself can bring. I smiled my way through the two weeks we spent being looked after by the kindest people I have ever met. Nothing was too much trouble. Every one of the staff went an extra mile. YTL should be congratulated for bringing together the people of the local village as the staff. I mentioned I had some water in my ear to Kikut who was the masseuse with magic hands, and when I got back to my room the telephone rang. The wonderful manager of the spa had arranged for me to be taken to the clinic to deal with it. I didn’t ask for help I had merely mentioned the discomfort. The experience of the much wilder coast of Bali in the north was a revelation. Mohammed in the kitchen and his lovely kitchen staff served up whatever you wanted. The small classes teaching you to make body scrub and health drinks were an inspiration. If you wish the best wellness holiday, which will restore your faith in human nature, The Village Spa Tembok is the place to go. My thanks to them all we will be back. Massages and wraps, good food, intimate cooking classes. Meditation on a float at night, trekking, yoga , meditation at dawn all things I would have scoffed at , made me supremely happy. The cons absolutely none.…
I had been to this Spa Village Resort Tembok Bali some years ago but this year is our 60th wedding anniversary as well as my hubby's 90th birthday so we wanted to start this new year 2023 on a very special note. So with so many of my Nordic Walkers Malaysia, friends and relatives - 40 in all- I decided to this resort we would go to remember this year and to celebrate in a very special way. This Spa Village is all that you look for in a serene getaway from city life away from pollution and noise. Everyone of us could not stop thanking the entire staff for the extraordinary exceptional splendid service and extremely cordial hospitality shown to us during our 5 Day 4Night stay. The daily massages were a treat and nothing is anywhere near it. Yes, every massage was different and special - really out of the world. Magical! The nutritious healthy unique cuisine and the company of the group plus the entire staff added to the delightful time we had here. The unique walks many times during the day on the small smooth rounded pebbles plus the soothing continuous and continual sound of the waves breaking had such a balming effect on the human spirit. To Fauzi the resort manager and his entire staff each one of you made our stay such a wonderful experience..To Mark of YTL thank you for having such a SPA VILLAGE in a remote place that filled us with many surprises as we entered the portals of this village resort. Yes it's a unique brilliant hideout. It's extraordinary six-star classy service and immaculate cleanliness has given it a thumbs- up by all 40 of us. I loved my private villa facing the sea very much. Congratulations to every member of the staff !…
Incredibly peaceful resort and amazing staff and service. We had one of the villas - it was too dark, but they put in a temporary spotlight for us. I’m not sure that it’s 5 star with only 1 restaurant and very limited facilities and the villas a a bit dated. The food was average as were the spa facilities. The spa therapists were very good though. Overall, a charming little resort to enjoy peace and quiet, but arguably not 5 star.
The most beautiful, peaceful and relaxing place to stay. The daily treatments were amazing, delicious food, lovely accommodation in one of their suites, well maintained pool and grounds, daily activities were lots of fun, sunrise boat trip lovely, drinks and cocktails delicious and the staff were amazing and very attentive to anything we wanted. Fantastic place!
We had the perfect honeymoon at Spa Village. Incredibly friendly and helpful staff. Amazing spa treatments. Great yoga classes and traditional weaving and carving classes. We never left the resort as we had everything we needed on our doorstep. So relaxing. Thank you Spa Village!!
In short: we loved it. We did not come with that high expectations due to several review and past YTL experiences but this place blew all negativeness into oblivion. The staff are extremely thoughtful and you can tell how serious they are in trying to make your stay a pleasant one, albeit their watchful eyes on you as you have your breakfast. However, they are not intrusive, at all. We loved every detail of the room which had comfort and peace ingrained. No mosquitoes, good temperature control and the loveliest marble floors This place does not allow children, majority of guest here come for the peace of it and are well behaving and quiet. We joined the Jamu making session and every Yoga session with Stephanie Wieck, there were only a few guest joining so one could feel like it was a private session almost. The best thing though.. were the meals. The chef was absolutely in tune with local ingredients and flavouring. Never was a dish too sweet or too stodgy. Portions were small comparatively to restaurants but there were multiple courses to enjoy. We brought snacks but ended up not eating them. There was nothing to complain about the meals in our opinion. Too bad it was rainy season, that we didn’t get to enjoy the hike to mt Batur nor the sunset cruise. But we did get to go for snorkeling at Amed. Mind you this comes with extra cost, best bring ur own snorkeling gear, and prepare some cash at hand, luckily we did bring, because we were expected to pay/tip at several locations In all, this is one of the best place to relax, respect and appreciate the nature in Bali they give you all the facilities for it luxury style.…
What a beautiful experience! We’ve stayed here for 4 days off early tomorrow 😭 All the staff knew our names and were so sweet and attentive. We stayed here off season so it was particularly quiet, but only because of the time of year. Our favourite staff - Widi, Ketut, Sri, Gede - effortlessly charming and helpful 🥰🙏🏻 - Wonderful food - Magic landscape - Heavenly treatments Thank you - we will be back!!
We stayed here for 7 nights after having been at the Alila Ubud for 7 nights. Our first trip away in almost 3 years and we certainly picked a beautiful second hotel! This hotel was a few hours further away from the airport after our stay in the heart of Bali in Ubud and on the coast the different scenery, flora and fauna was quite a change in such a small island. After our journey we were welcomed with a revitalising foot massage and cooling towel before being shown to our first floor suite (well worth the upgrade for a longer stay). Beautifully appointed and laid out we truly felt in paradise with a lovely view of the grounds and sea beyond. Once again the staff made this stay truly memorable and were willing to go above and beyond. A nice touch at the hotel was the inclusion of a daily spa treatment which, as we were there for 7 days, meant we were thoroughly spoiled. Each day there was also a local craft/tradition demonstration which we found really interesting, especially the traditional face scrub! Again the food was amazing and it was nice to see an emphasis on local cuisine that the staff were fully conversant with and could make recommendations. The free tea and coffee around the pool were again a nice touch, something small but appreciated. Beautiful pool location overlooking the ocean under swaying coconut palms, idyllic. Sea wasn't really suitable for swimming most days due to waves/currents but we did get to snorkel a little bit. Once again the hotel was only just getting going again post-pandemic so on some days we almost had the place to ourselves but everything was available despite the lack of guests. A truly fantastic experience which we will not forget in a long time! In short, Bali is a fantastic place and one of the few places that I would consider moving to, only choice would be coastal or rainforest!…
We had a very unpleasant experience from start to finish…we decided to leave after the 2nd night. - We were made to pay on arrival (without even seeing the room), we were not informed about this when booking the hotel. - We were requested to sign a disclaimer the hotel is not responsible held for anything happening to us due to their fault. Scary, right so beware what you’re signing… - Room was not updated since the ‘80s - everything in the minibar (soft drinks, beer and snacks) was chargeable apart from a couple of bottles of water and some tea and coffee. - Food was poor quality for a $400/night hotel. - The hotel is far from the nearest village so you’re stuck there… they know it and probably take advantage of it. While we were there, we found out that Malaysian and Singaporean people get to stay in the hotel half price plus free transport from and to the airport included (3hrs each way)!!! - We were charged $400/night and were quoted $75 for airport transfer (one way!!!). We used GoJek at a fraction of the price for transport. Positives: - Staff are nice and they have a couple of nice free classes (I.e face scrub making). - The other nice experience was the massage (included in the room price). This turned out to be one of the most expensive stays in such a poor quality hotel. I definitely do not recommend it. I added some pics to show what a $400/night offers in this hotel 😢…
