Both the mountain resort and the beach are beautiful Balinese style accommodation with restaurant swimming pool and beautiful surrounds. We stayed at the mountain retreat as part of a yoga and mindfulness package run by Tim and Anna from Geelong City Yoga who take annual retreats.

I have just returned from a week stay at Gaia Oasis Mountain Retreat. The retreat is located in the hilly mountain and it’s beautifully presented surrounding a lush green in a four hectares estate in Tejakula. Gaia Oasis has also a salt water pool, which overlooking the valley. There is also a range of walking trails, including a beautiful terrace with stunning views where the sky meets the ocean- it’s just amazing. Gaia Oasis is also a non-profit foundation in North Bali, which support families in Tejakula with school supplies, tutoring class and scholarship program. I highly recommend it and you can for sure find your balance and reconnect to yourself.

If you are looking for your garden of Eden then this is the place. Total relaxation as it is a remote part of Bali on the west coast. The rooms are amazing just 20 rooms I believe but good for family groups. The staff cannot do enough for you it was such a pleasure to stay for 4 nights.

Gaia was such a beautiful stay. Quiet, in the middle of the mountains. Beautiful rooms, location and mountain surroundings. All the staff were very accommodating and welcoming. I also loved their ethics, growing all their produce on the property and being conscious of the environment. Will definitely stay again next time I am in Bali!

The resort is calm and breathtakingly beautiful. You'll be immersed in nature and in the truest and most hospitable version of North Bali. The food is absolutely amazing and the staff is the most attentive staff I have ever seen - everyone learns your name right on the first day! I truly felt in paradise in Gaia. I highly recommend the dolphin cruise! Many many thanks to Putu and team!

Dear Claire, Thank you very much for taking the time to write this positive review. We are so happy you had an enjoyable experience during your retreat with Sunny Ju, and that you found our food amazing. Thank you too for recommending our dolphin tour. We are proud that the local fishermen respect the dolphins; they were trained by Reefcheck International and work hard to protect our sea and our environment. I will share your warmly positive and encouraging review with the staff, thank you! They will be more than happy with your feedback. They work very hard to look after our guests and it will provide them with great encouragement to keep doing what they do so well. We hope you return one day for another stay. Peace and Blessings, Putu

I took my family for a quiet time at the mountain expecting quiet! Unfortunately BAD experience as the locals around have the habit of listen very loud music PUMPING their speakers right in front of us. Two days of a night mare. Second day the music woke us up at 5:50 AM! Surreal that in the beautiful place we encounter this problem. I did complain the first day and I supposed the locals decided to show who has the louder voice putting LOUD music even before the sun rise! the hotel cut off from the bill one massage as a complementary . I have to say the staff was adorable the rooms very clean and you find everything you need inside. They must make a serious deal with the locals around regarding this speaker blasting music.

Dear Ibu Claudia, On behalf of the management, we want to extend our sincerest apologies concerning the issue with the loud music you have faced during your stay. We appreciate you bringing this issue to our attention. I have tried to approach the neighbor to turn down the music on the day when you check in after I got a call from my team that you got complained for the situation. The people were understood and make it down the level of the sound and even turn it off. But unfortunately the situation is happened again on the second day. I am very sorry we have failed to give your family a quiet time at the mountain as expected during your stay. I have taken it up with the teams involved and we will follow up this situation, to maintain our places as quiet as we can. Again so sorry for the inconvenience. Thank you so much for your comments on our staff and about the rooms. Much appreciate it. We are so sorry this has marred your impression of our retreat and that we do hope to get an opportunity to welcome you back home again soon Peace and Blessings, Putu

To me Bali is a magical place and what makes it so are the people, nature and the spirituality you feel all around you. Gaia Oasis is set in a special location with the beautiful ocean right in front of you. From every room and location you are gazing and the beauty and vastness of the water that surrounds you. The spa is beautiful and the room opens out to the sea breeze as your body is receiving healing touch from your therapist. I had two treatments that were out of this world. First day was a traditional Balinese massage which is just spectacular and the second day I had a green tea body scrub and relaxing massage. I was in heaven! I was taken to the sister location in the mountains to practice yoga. The location of the yoga shala is so beautiful as you practice and gaze out at the beautiful lotus pond and other beautiful flowers. The instructor was thoughtful at offering modifications and guided us through a wonderful practice to begin our day. Only issue for me is no A/C and it was very hot and humid. There is a fan in the rooms which made it a little easier to fall asleep. I'm working on my resiliency to heat as I age so this would not stop me from visiting Gaia again.

Dear Debi, Thank you very much for a fantastic review; we are so glad that you had the most amazing time at Gaia and that you enjoyed our treatments as well as the yoga class offered by our foundation. We feel very complimented to read your review. We can understand that the climate is different from what you are used to. It must have felt so hot every day. Our apologies that we do not provide A/C in the rooms, as this is against our environmentally-friendly commitment. Thank you to wanting to visit Gaia again. We look forward to welcoming you back very soon. Peace and Blessings, Putu

I have been to Gaia Oasis twice now, each time for a "self-guided yoga retreat". The location and the setting could not be more perfect for a peaceful, healing, rejuvenating holiday. What makes Gaia Oasis special is that it is run as a retreat centre. All the staff contributed to making our experience one of healing and wholeness. We did yoga every morning on the veranda on front of our bungalow, and this was supported in every way by the Gaia staff. Their care and individual attention to each of us guests was wonderful - such a kind and loving group of people, some of whom have been working at Gaia for almost 20 years! They made us feel very welcome. What is also very special about Gaia is that it is a nonprofit organisation, so all the proceeds from us visitors is spread back into the community in the form of educational, ecological, and cultural projects. We saw examples of this at a local festival while we were there: Gaia supporting the rebuilding of the reef, and supporting a local gamelan orchestra (who were really good!). If you are looking for loud music, disco, and shopping, then you will be sadly disappointed at Gaia Oasis. But if you are looking for a time of introspection, and a chance to join in with an international community of interesting people who care about spirituality and global development, then this is the place for you. As an added benefit, the whole resort is stunningly beautiful and well-appointed: The bungalows are exquisite: large, roomy, beautifully decorated. And every day, the room staff decorates them with fresh flowers - frangipani, hibiscus and many other fragrant blossoms - a delight! The resort is spacious, with lots of room and privacy for everyone. The garden is a lush green delight, dotted everywhere with vibrantly blooming bushes and trees. There is beautiful large pool, a lovely spa, and a large airy restaurant right on the shore, with tables "inside" and "outside" that catch the afternoon and evening breezes. The breakfast and dinner buffets are amazingly good - I find it sadly very difficult not to put on weight while I'm at Gaia Oasis! One thing to bear in mind: The shoreline is rocky and volcanic, so you need swimming shoes to go in the ocean. But it's worth it to bring snorkelling gear with you - there are some nice patches of coral very close to the surface, and in the early morning you will be surrounded by schools of fish feeding.

I am a tour leader and every year I bring my group to Gaia. Bungalows are fabulous, clean, food is heaven, truly I feel it heals me to eat this organic delicious food. Staff it is wonderful, it is the gem of Gaia. Definitely I come here because it is a place full of heart and of course so beautiful. Besides that with my stay I can support the Gaia foundation and therefore local people. I know many resorts in north Bali and Gaia is no doubt my favourite.
