the best hotel in thassos. The hotel is very clean, the staff is very friendly, George is very jumpy and very friendly and solves any problem if you encounter. The location is great, the beach is exactly as in the pictures. We stayed 4 days out of 7 on the beach at the hotel. The beach and the water are so beautiful. The pool bar is 10 meters from you where you can find some exceptional drinks. We wholeheartedly recommend this hotel and thank you for a grade 10 vacation.
Stayed her first week of September, everything it said in the brochure plus we had good weather, we hired a car for 2 days and saw the whole island. Went across on ferry to Kavala on mainland - very nice day out. Restaurants close by and we found The Nest - amazing traditional Greek food at amazing low prices
We spent an amazing 7 days & nights at the Socrates Plaza Hotel on Thassos Island at the beginning of September. The location is perfect. Hotel & grounds are kept immaculate by George & his very hard working pleasant team. Sunbeds were readily available on the beach or by the pool. Breakfast was buffet style, extremely well presented & very enjoyable. Evening meal was chosen at breakfast which suited us fine. The meals we chose were plentiful, tasty & traditional. We ate out twice but preferred the meals we had in the hotel. We had a double room overlooking the pool & sea, so fantastic to wake up to that view every morning. Also fantastic sunsets. The room was modern & the bed huge and very comfortable. The shower was powerful & plenty of hot water anytime of day. The little village of Skala Prinos is only a short walk away, either along a path or along the beach that had plenty of travenas & a large supermarket that sold all provisions & souvenirs at very reasonable prices. The sea is very shallow & the water so clear you could see the fishes & the beach sandy. We went with Tui & couldn't fault the transfer from the airport to the ferry & then onto the hotel. The reps were very friendly, knowledgeable & approachable. Thank you to George & his team for an amazing holiday & wouldn't hesitate to return to this hotel & the beautiful Island of Thassos.…
Had a lovely week here. Must say we found the food fine. Greek dishes available each night. Plenty of choice. Drinks very reasonable, 5 euros for a carafe of wine and 3 euros for a mythos beer. Lift needs fixing and sunbeds on beach should be free for hotel guests as you give it back in snacks from the bar anyway. Lovely location and good service. Please feed the cat and her kittens. On the contrary they're not bad for your image. Have visited other islands in Greece and hotels have feeding stations for them. Would recommend this hotel.
I didn't spend much time in the hotel during the day, because wanted to get out and about. For the amount which I paid, I was impressed with the hotel. Skala Prinos is a quiet spot, but, with that in mind, the hotel is in a good location. Hotel functioning as a hotel should function! Problem with door card, but given a key instead and all resolved. Staff members were friendly. George was chatty in way that was friendly, and also helpful. Elena did a great job in looking after the busy restaurant, and is lovely. Food was basic, but no complaints. A welcome holiday and good stay at this establishment. Don't listen to the serial moaners. J W Woodhouse
