We did our Padi open water at the Lumba Lumba and also stayed at the premises. The cottage was good, spacious and kept clean. Also there was a mosquito net which was great. Also, the personnel were very helpful and friendly. It looks like one happy family. Next to that they offer good services such as laundry, massages and scooter rental. There is a house restaurant which you can order food from at the reception (they share seating) but there are also very nice restaurants just a few meters away at Gapang beach. We really liked our open water course. The house reef, at which you'll learn a lot of the skills is pretty nice and also good for snorkellers. Our instructor was very professional, kept a high standard and was easygoing and relaxed at the same time. Thanks again! Staying 4D3N in Lumba Lumba for scuba diving with my wife. Getting along with the local resident in the island, the staff in the resort and the tourist staying here were the greatest moment in my trip. Everything were well organized by the resort from airport touch down until we arrived to the resort. All these arrangement worth every single penny as it avoid all the hustle especially when we come to a new place. We stayed in Living Room Cottage with AC and the room is simple and clean. Please do not expect luxury layout as the resort is surrounded by nature. We can hear the insects, frogs and sometime monkeys sing at night. We rent a motorbike and roaming in the island freely. The local residences are friendly to the tourist. There is always a smile on their face. The dive center and diving experience was great! The DMs are professional and they are straight to PADI rules to keep our trip safe. We are new divers and our DM really take good care on us and try his best to improve our skill through dive trips. I have been to many islands and staying in many island resort, Pulau Weh and Lumba Lumba Dive Resort is one of a few that I wish to go back again in future. …

I stayed here for five nights. I signed up for a diving course. I ended up dropping the diving course, the diving staff of Sophie and Chris were super understanding . The entire staff was the best throughout my stay. The room was nice, the beach is beautiful. The attached restaurant was very good as well. I would recommend anyone to stay here.

We were staying on Pulau Weh for 11 nights and dived with Lumba Lumba most days. We found the dive centre staff to be extremely helpful and friendly. The equipment we hired was good quality and well maintained. The diving was excellent value for money and very flexible. However the highlight was the guided diving. The dive sites are superb and we have to thank Sophie, Roby, Midi, Fawsi and Jesus our dive guides who really made the dives special. Highly recommended and we will be back!

We felt safe diving with Lumba Lumba dive resort. During the whole diving trip, our guide Dayat ensured that both of us were comfortable before and after each dive. He was very attentive and always showed us the unique marine life (even during our safety stop). The crew is also amiable and helpful. The room is spacious but old, some parts of it need renovation. Food is ok. We are happy with the trip.

We will never forget our diving days in Lumba Lumba. Perfect place, beautiful diving sites, excellent staff... The food in the Baracuda restaurant is tasty and cheap. Katri, Patu and Jesus were really good diving teachers for us beginners, they made us fall in love with diving.

Given that the overall standard on the island is very basic it is okay and has everything. That being said, it is still overpriced - the rooms are basic but the bathrooms are really not nice (the toilet does not flush very good, the shower is flooding the whole room, it has no windows and it doesn’t look nice or clean). There are other resorts on the island which cost about the same and are much nicer and more directly on the beach. The whole resort looks like it could use some atlove (there are areas on the premise that look run down and there is a lot of plastic trash on the beach which they could easily remove as the beach is not huge). There are great diving sites (the canyon, bate tokong) with sooo many fish and great coral gardens, and the groups are small. The diving school takes requests but they don’t give any information about sites that could be nice (so research yourself before), they have good and plenty if equipment and offer 3 dives per day. But if they have chosen a diving site and the conditions are not good, they still go and you have to do the dive (we had 3 out of 8 dives with only 5m visibility and everything was green) - we already dove with other companies that then adapted plans if conditions are not so nice. But the guides are friendly and experiences and always made us feel safe. The hotel also offers to rent scooters which is great to explore the rest of the island. So if you just look for an easy and chill place to stay for diving and don’t mind spending more (and don’t care for visual appealing stuff) this is a great spot for backpackers - otherwise research other places.…

Hi, thanks for your feedback. Great you still like the diving even though you were not lucky with the visibility these days you were here. We are in a spot where visibility can change from day to day and unfortunately it won’t always help to change the dive site last minute. Although we always do our best to adjust our dive sites or entry points when we see conditions as waves and currents are unfavorable. Your compliments to our guides have been passed on, thank you. Regarding the bathroom, we wish you would have let us know about the problem so we could have solved it. We are close to nature and the jungle. The trees look for water and sometimes the roots succeed to get into the pipes and quickly block the drainage speed. It is something our team will fix as soon as we get the feedback. The dive centre’s renovation is in its very last stage and we will be able to use the renewed reception really soon. You are always welcome back, to enjoy our divesites with the usual good visibility and to enjoy relaxing on the renewed veranda in the dive centre for a complete diving holiday experience in our resort.

Stayed 4 nights at Lumba Lumba and did my Padi Open Water course here: everything was great! The rooms, the restaurant, the people, the location and of course the dive instructors. Everyone is super helpful and friendly. Very nice place to settle down a bit, relax, and enjoy the beautiful dive sites (octopus, turtle, clownfish, moray eels and many more)
