Stayed here quite recently and had rooms 43 onwards. While the room was large, the decor and the bathroom decor was somewhat tired. They give Ebony complimentary toiletries. One thing to add is the pillows were not very comfortable and staying during August makes sleeping somewhat unbearable. It was too hot to sleep, despite opening windows and a plug in... More

Pleasant staff and nice spacious room (No.22 - ground floor overlooking gardens), with a 1.5m wide bed. Property set in very nice countryside location (just outside Rye) surrounded by lots of trees. With its two conservatory areas and outside tables and chairs, it offers pleasing breakfast/dinner options. The bar, gym and swimming pool also add to its overall attraction, and... More

We loved this old style hotel. The staff were mostly young and enthusiastic. We stayed one night and enjoyed the experience. Food was good and the servers looked like they enjoyed their work. What was particularly positive was the way in which they connected with diners. It can be difficult for restaurants to get this right, but they have so... More

This hotel is absolutely fine but could do with a refurb. Our room which was a "premier" was very large and comfortable but the bathroom was very tired and I could feel a spring or two in the mattress. The staff are very pleasant. There are some nice gardens you can sit out in and there is a pub and... More

Well presented venue, with decent food. Car parking outside. Pleasant consevatory area. Not too far to travel to the sea or Rye town, but not a lot to do on your doorstep. A vehicle is needed if staying here.

We had 4 rooms booked for 2 nights and the overall view was that it was a good break in a lovely setting. 3 of the rooms were very pleasant but the room in the attic was hot and pokey. The breakfast was very good but the evening meal was over priced with very small portions that left the 7... More

Although a little bit tired, the hotel is okay, however, the breakfast and dinner were a complete disaster. the eggs benedict came as one egg not on a muffin swimming in a plate of melted butter, inedible. Dinner, my husband ordered ham and eggs and received a thick slab of ham deep fried with overdone eggs, simply horrible. I ordered... More

Stayed for 1 night early August paid for superior double, but on arrival was underwhelmed with the room so asked for another room which was better . Nice pool ,lovely restaurant and bar area very relaxing. Had a evening meal which was 1st class ,and the breakfast in the morning in the sunny conservatory was great too. The hotel is a... More

I agree with some other reviewers that the hotel is a little dated and shabby but the very friendly staff and great choice at breakfast more than makes up for that. We stayed on Saturday night, I, my husband and our labrador, in a superior double bedroom which was very big and spotlessly clean and comfortable. Our dog was made... More

The hotel is in a lovely setting and very close to Rye. It looks great from the outside with attractive grounds and good parking. We stayed in a family room which was spacious and well equipped. It's not the most modern hotel but it has everything you need and the staff are really helpful. Breakfast was good but all the... More
