Marion and Pete took our family in when we had to evacuate our home during the Pigeon Valley wildfire. Their generosity and kindness made a huge difference to us at a very stressful time. The cottage we stayed in was beautiful and had everything we needed when we were unable to be in our home. We loved the super comfortable beds, beautiful linen and gorgeous views. Thank you Marion and Pete, we are so grateful that you made a difficult time for our family easier.

We stayed in 9 different B&B's on our trip of Australia and New Zealand and this was one of the best. It is off the beaten path but Peter and Marion are the friendliest hosts you could find. They made us very welcome and the room was very spacious with a separate sitting room which made it nice to have another place to relax besides the bed. We spent three nights and the breakfast each morning was delicious with various hot items available. Gave a good local knowledge for places to eat. Really enjoyed this stay. Also came with the use of laundry services.

We stayed 2 nights in the stunning Mt Arthur Suite which was very spacious and had it's own patio area. Marion and Peter were lovely hosts who gave us information and advice on the area as well as providing lodgings and a delicious breakfast. We had a little tour around the gardens and met the chickens, pigs and two alpacas called Harry and Oliver. Peter's artistic colander garden creations were an interesting topic for conversation too! The Mapua Wharf was within 5 mins driving distance where we ate at The Apple Shed both evenings. The other eateries there looked great too. A memorable visit to this beautiful part of New Zealand.

Marion and Peter were our fantastic hosts! We stayed in the Apple Cottage and couldn’t have been more thrilled. Marion stocked our fridge with breakfast and snack items daily that were delicious. We had tons of space, storage, a full kitchen and living room, and a lovely washing machine with easily accessible drying racks. The cottage was extremely comfortable and the sunsets each day were to die for (see pics). We were a quick car ride or a 30-minute walk from Mapua. (It’s a 30-minute car ride from Nelson). The wharf had excellent restaurants and cute shops. We hated to leave! Don’t miss this beautiful place.
